Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant Chapter 2331: 177: Revealed (Part 3)

Previously on Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant...
Wang Ba retreated into the Cloud Sky Realm, scanning the defensive counterattacks against invading monks and questioning the timing for a full assault as advised. He unleashed the Wu Monkey King and Four Spirits, empowered by his techniques, to clash fiercely with the Arhats, devouring and smashing them amid the chaos. Approaching the Azure Dragon Mountain Range's barrier, he transmitted a warning to Patriarch Zhong Yuanzi about potential evacuation, receiving grateful acknowledgment and a plea for aid if feasible without risk. As more monks poured in, Wang Ba recalled his beasts and absorbed a group into his sleeve with merged paths, then struck at the remaining Bodhisattvas with a pale golden sword beam. A surge of danger forced him to evade just as a massive golden Buddha's Hand emerged, grasping at empty space.

When the golden Buddha’s Hand appeared, the four Great Bodhisattvas present all displayed looks of pure delight:

“It’s the Great Bodhisattva!”

Right then, in front of the water curtain at the Cloud Sky Arena.

The youth in Purple Robes narrowed his eyes a bit, rising to his feet without thinking:

“The Northern Great Bodhisattva has joined the fray too…”

A subtle spark of happiness flickered in his gaze:

“Excellent! This Taiyi really is a bringer of fortune, drawing in two Great Bodhisattvas single-handedly!”

“What else is coming? From the Supreme True Buddha’s side, anything more?”

He found himself glancing toward the outside realm.

Within the void, the stream of monks pouring out from the Seated Buddha started to thin out.

Still, the formidable aura he expected didn’t show, so his caution remained sharp.

From watching the water curtain, the forces dispatched by the Cloud Sky Realm were beginning to waver, with even Crossing Tribulation experts now taking hits. His expression grew grave, yet he held back from sending in reinforcements.

“Sect Leader Bai, if we hold off helping now, they won’t last much longer!”

The nearby cultivators, witnessing the shifts in the water curtain, felt a weight of worry and impatience settle over them.

In that instant, the Taoist Field trembled with fierce intensity.

The onslaught against the field grew ever fiercer.

But the Purple Robe youth stayed locked on the outer realm, murmuring softly:

“Hold on just a little more, just a bit longer…”

High above the Sky Dome.

Wings spread wide behind Wang Ba, his form hovered in the air, eyes locked with utmost gravity on the gray-robed monk emerging slowly from the tear in the realm membrane, a chill gripping his chest:

“Northern Great Bodhisattva!”

Though his mind weighed heavy, the sight came as no surprise.

They’d clashed twice before; clearly, he’d caught the enemy’s attention. So this latest arrival felt entirely predictable.

That said, the moment of entry stirred unease in Wang Ba.

“Right now, the Lord of Six Paths lies seriously wounded and absent; the Western Great Bodhisattva guards the Buddha Kingdom; for the other three Great Bodhisattvas, their key duty shouldn’t be chasing me but orchestrating events to force out the Mahayana cultivators…”

“With all three Great Bodhisattvas diving in personally, how do they plan to draw those Mahayana ones?”

Perhaps his string of moves had dealt heavy blows to the Supreme True Buddha’s followers, and no Bodhisattva Realm powerhouse could pin him down, compelling the Great Bodhisattvas to step up themselves.

Feeling the more than twenty Arhats and eight or nine Bodhisattvas tucked in his sleeve…

This possibility, Wang Ba had to admit, held some weight.

Such racing thoughts flashed through in a mere heartbeat.

The gray-robed monk stepped in from beyond the realm, his stare fixed solely on Wang Ba, a shadow of irritation clouding his features.

This opponent’s sharp Spiritual Sense and wary nature stood out among peers at his level.

Despite masking his presence through the realm barrier and employing varied tricks, he hadn’t foreseen the cultivator evading him so swiftly.

Three attempts in succession, all foiled by this far weaker foe…

His temper simmering, face steady as ever, he eyed Wang Ba and spoke in a hushed tone:

“Layman Taiyi, the Cloud Sky Realm now faces encirclement by my Buddha’s forces, flight is futile. Why resist? Surrender to my Buddha—we carry karma, yet offer salvation to all in torment…”

Wang Ba kept his face impassive, cutting in:

“Big monk, I doubt your forces can truly conquer the Cloud Sky Realm!”

At those words, the gray-robed monk let out a soft laugh:

“Oh, really?”

“The Cloud Sky Realm wants a trade; got enough to offer?”

Wang Ba’s pulse quickened, a strange glint in his eyes.

The foe seemed aware of the Cloud Sky Realm’s aims, yet pressed on into the realm. Did they truly think their ranks of Bodhisattvas and Arhats so vast as to dismiss the cost?

Noting the other’s lack of rush to strike, he welcomed the stall, probing with his question:

“Why keep the Tianshang great monk hidden? Scared?”

The gray-robed monk’s compassionate mask slipped at that, anger building as he pressed palms together and intoned a Buddha’s name quietly:

“Supreme True Buddha… Layman, such blasphemous talk invites doom unchecked; the Tianshang Buddha Lord is the true reincarnation of Buddha, uttering such evil, even I cannot spare your life!”

His face hardened in an instant, hand thrusting forward!

A plain gesture, yet it swelled into a massive golden Buddha’s Hand, seizing from a distance!

Wang Ba stood ready, wings flaring to take flight.

But then, unseen force crashed down, sealing every direction!

Like the crush of countless peaks!

Wang Ba’s thoughts reeled, hoisting the Land-Parting Staff in haste.

The golden Buddha’s Hand collided with Wang Ba; right away, the steadfast Earth Yellow Treasure Light quivered, as though barely holding firm!

“Impossible!”

Wang Ba’s spirit jolted!

Ever since wielding the Land-Parting Staff, he’d never witnessed anything like it!

Meanwhile, the gray-robed monk closed in wordlessly, his look blending fury and calm, murmuring:

“Vast as the land may be, this treasure bears weakness; spot the gap, and it falls to control…”

The Land-Parting Staff harbored flaws?

Wang Ba’s heart plummeted.

True, the Land-Parting Staff fell short; it held just twenty-nine Innate Cloud Bans, missing seven from the Wind-Driving Staff’s full thirty-six.

Yet in earlier battles, it performed flawlessly, even triumphing over Taoist Man, so he’d overlooked the issue.

To think the Northern Great Bodhisattva would expose it now.

Not that Taoist Man paled against the Northern Great Bodhisattva, but their paths differed.

Mind spinning wildly, he wasted no time, pulling free the sword sheath Dao Treasure and channeling immortal power.

The gray-robed monk, having struck the Land-Parting Staff’s vulnerability with one hit, surged ahead, slamming another palm at the trapped Wang Ba!

His eyes gleamed icy, laced with victory.

This strike carried ninety percent certainty of seizing the foe!

In this dire instant.

Alarms blared in the gray-robed monk’s mind!

Before he could grasp why, a thunderous lion’s bellow exploded near him!

One roar alone, yet it echoed like a legion of Demonic Beasts in unison!

His core quaked, the palm’s force unraveling as he staggered back in alarm.

Mighty sound waves ripped across the whole Cloud Sky Realm!

The invading walkers and lowly demon slaves, struck by the lion’s cry, dropped dead from sheer terror!

Even Arhats paled in dread, their Golden Bodies quaking!

The gray-robed monk whipped around in panic.

There, on the far-off earth, a savage lion had materialized unseen, rearing tall with thousands of heads whipping like a stormy mane!

A petite form perched upon the lion’s crown, white robes fluttering, hair streaming in the breeze.

Those profound eyes, vast as abyssal seas, regarded him without emotion.

And at the lion’s roar, Wang Ba’s heart leaped with sudden warning, spotting the beast and the white-robed elder atop it, a rush of shock and joy surged through him:

“Master Chao?!”
