Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant Chapter 2328 - 176: Peerless_3
Previously on Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant...
This obviously isn't the typical behavior of a genuine Demon Head.
These Supreme True Buddha monks, though born as humans and wrapped in Buddhist robes, harbor demonic essence deep inside, no different from actual Demon Heads. In the Realm Sea, spotting even one such fiend is quite uncommon, but in the Supreme True Buddha, nearly every monk he ran into turned out the same.
"Why is this happening?"
His heart brimmed with confusion.
The Bodhisattva, twisting Buddha into demon while gripping the Dao Treasure, at last carved a way out of this yellow wind, displaying strength clearly greater than in her Buddha state.
Buddha holds compassion and respect, but demons follow their urges, so casting off the Buddha's form lets the hidden demon surge with even more power.
Down inside the light shield, the skinny old man watched this unfold and right away remembered his old fights, battling desperately until he was nearly spent, using all sorts of tricks to slay that Bodhisattva, only for her to show her demon form and slam him into peril with a single palm strike.
Without the sudden arrival of those two Mahayana experts from the Silkworm Dragon Realm and Void Demon Realm, who drew away that Demon Buddha, he probably would've perished right there.
With that in mind, he swiftly yelled:
"Wang Ba, watch out!"
Up on the Sky Dome, as though catching the skinny old man's warning, Wang Ba jolted alert, his heart turning cold, then swung a palm to the side, smashing the Buddha-to-demon Bodhisattva instantly, her head bursting open with Demonic Qi spraying out, but she acted unconcerned, merely turning her eyes to scan the area without spotting other monks, leaving him a touch baffled:
"Watch out?"
"Watch out for what?"
Down below, the skinny old man witnessing this, gaped in shock, the warning on his tongue halting abruptly before he swallowed it back.
What sort of amazing figure is this!
The Wanxiang Sect Patriarch's tomb must be belching green smoke!
No, I am the Wanxiang Sect Patriarch...
The skinny old man snapping back, instinctively glanced at the worn-out young man in russet robes nearby, who was also staring up at the Sky Dome, his own heart supposed to ache for the youth's wounds right now, yet oddly feeling a wave of ease instead.
"I just claimed that Wanxiang Sect disciples from Little Cang World aren't worse than anybody!"
He couldn't help recalling that usually aloof teacher.
"If the teacher learned that Wanxiang Sect birthed such a remarkable cultivator, he'd definitely be stunned, wouldn't he?"
"No chance, if he found out it specifically came from Wanxiang Sect in Little Cang World, his eyes would bulge right out!"
The skinny old man felt a spark of excitement, even if it seemed a bit irreverent toward the teacher, remembering how the other had rejected his plan to save Wanxiang Sect in Little Cang World, now inexplicably swelling with delight.
"It's too bad the teacher isn't present."
His heart overflowed with regret.
Just as these ideas swirled in his thoughts, up on the Sky Dome at the Realm Membrane's opening, Wang Ba grew bored with the fight, lifted his hand in quick succession, unleashing a barrage of palms.
They looked plain enough, but truly packed with Dao Domain and rules, every blow carrying Wang Ba's utmost power short of Beast Control and Dao Treasure.
Only a series of sharp thuds echoed out.
Though the three Bodhisattvas strained to wield their Dao Treasures as barriers, Wang Ba still pinpointed weaknesses effortlessly, knocking them straight out from under the protection in a flash.
Their Golden Bodies all crumbled, Demonic Qi not even emerging, got easily overpowered by him, then sealed and contained with Divine Patterns, tucked into his sleeve.
After that, he stepped ahead boldly, positioning himself right at the Realm Membrane's entrance.
Beyond it, golden radiance blazed like broad daylight, hordes of figures streaming in nonstop from outside!
Among those figures, Bodhisattvas and Arhats weren't missing, outnumbering the earlier group that breached the realm, each glowing with Buddhist Light like swirling orbs, enough to dazzle the eyes.
Wang Ba stayed composed, holding his ground solo at the Realm Membrane's entrance.
His eyes skipped past the charging monks, peering into the emptiness, gauging the range, his mind settling a bit.
At the same time, the incoming light orbs came to a sudden stop just shy of the entrance!
The glows dimmed, revealing monks one by one, all staring ahead in terror.
They exchanged glances, then one intoned gravely:
"He's invincible in the Bodhisattva Realm, sure, but if we team up, he can't possibly..."
As he said it, that monk caught Wang Ba's look sweeping over, heart jolting, too scared to finish the thought.
Wang Ba simply let out a soft laugh and pulled back inside the realm.
At this sight, every monk froze in place.
The cultivator who'd gone quiet from shock now perked up, blurting out:
"He's definitely scared!"
"Hurry, let's grab him!"
With that, they mustered their nerve, spurring an Arhat serving under a Bodhisattva to tentatively step into the realm.
But he halted short.
The green-robed Taoist lingered close by on the Sky Dome, arms at his sides, observing their approach without attacking, instead chuckling idly:
"What are you all hesitating for?"
The Arhats faltered in confusion, then scattered fast, swiftly arranging into a formation.
Moments later, at the entrance, five Bodhisattvas and a bunch of Arhat followers who hadn't arrived yet crammed through, spotting Wang Ba and not daring to ease up, the five Bodhisattvas at once hoisted their Dao Treasures, unleashing Buddhist Law.
Outside the entrance, even more monks kept flooding in!
Facing such a swarm of monk silhouettes, even Wang Ba had to inwardly admire.
"The Supreme True Buddha sure has a massive operation!"
And down in the light shield with the Wanxiang Sect cultivators, seeing this spectacle, their hearts clenched tight, staying hushed, all eyes glued to the Sky Dome, absorbing every second.
The skinny old man held his tongue now, still anxious deep down, yet trusting that Wang Ba would mostly stay safe, his sole worry being the monks pouring in without end, bound to wear Wang Ba down eventually...
Pondering this, his stare sharpened.
Suddenly, right then, a being burst from Wang Ba's sleeve, with a human face and snake body—Fang Yi soared out, eyes crimson and closed tight!
In a blink, the skinny old man sensed pitch blackness crashing over him!
Before his eyes stretched a pitch-black void, endless night devouring every view, every sense, every noise...
"What's going on!?"
The skinny old man felt stunned and lost, realizing even his own shout went dead in that instant.
This odd numbness sparked a flicker of unease in his chest.
Just a few breaths went by, but it dragged like eons.
Until the sky suddenly lit up again.
The skinny old man quickly checked the Sky Dome.
Only to find white clouds drifting and vanishing over the Sky Dome in cycles.
Yet the throng of monks from before had completely disappeared, leaving just a green-robed figure poised at the damaged patch of the Sky Dome, gazing outward, calling out:
"I wonder if any more High Monks and Virtuous ones plan to come? I'll handle the cleanup and welcome."
The cultivators couldn't see the outer view, only catching the sudden quiet from beyond.
Eyeing that figure, plain as it seemed, everyone's hearts couldn't help surging with optimism.
Maybe... this catastrophe wasn't as inevitable as they'd feared?
