Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant Chapter 2299: 167: Bound and Helpless
Previously on Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant...
“I surrender!”
The cry of the Red Bodhisattva echoed through the void, saturated with bitter resentment.
However, the impact of these words varied greatly between the two opposing sides.
Among the assembly of arhats and bodhisattvas following the Supreme True Buddha, expressions of utter shock and lost souls prevailed:
“He actually suffered a defeat…”
“Even the Wisdom Truth Bodhisattva could not prevail.”
“It was clear his magical combat skills were not inferior to that Taoist!”
Suddenly, several monks erupted in fury:
“It’s because of those divine beasts!”
“This was supposed to be a duel between two individuals; why were so many divine beasts unleashed?”
“Winning through superior numbers is a disgrace!”
“This result is invalid!”
The clamor of the crowd was overwhelming!
Meanwhile, the Eastern Great Bodhisattva wore a dark expression, the mask of compassion on his face nearly crumbling. His eyes were locked onto Wang Ba, seemingly weighing his options, calculating his next move, or perhaps fighting the urge to strike.
Inside the Taoist Field of the Cloud Sky Realm.
The cultivators, who had been holding their breath while watching Wang Ba and the Red Bodhisattva engage in their violent struggle, finally snapped out of their trance. They exhaled deeply, unable to contain their joy as they began to offer congratulations.
“Victory! I was certain that Taoist Friend Taiyi would triumph in this round!” True Man Ba declared, his voice booming with excitement.
True Man Nie gazed at the blue-robed figure reflected in the water curtain, her eyes shimmering with light. Having reached such a high Realm, seeking a life partner was no longer a priority, yet she couldn't help but think that having him as a Cultivation partner would be an excellent choice. However, upon further reflection, she felt a sense of shame and quickly suppressed the thought.
Admiration for Wang Ba overflowed from the hearts of many onlookers. Though some were only Tribulation-Transcending Realm cultivators whose Cultivation and insight were insufficient to grasp the profound techniques used by Wang Ba and the Red Bodhisattva, they understood the core truth: the Red Bodhisattva was the leader of the ten bodhisattvas of the Supreme True Buddha and the pinnacle of the Bodhisattva Realm. Since True Man Taiyi had forced such a person to utter the word ‘surrender,’ his superiority was undeniable.
Those who truly understood the art—mostly middle-stage Tribulation-Transcending Realm experts and a few at the peak of Tribulation Crossing Perfection, like the youth in purple—were deeply moved.
This Red Bodhisattva, Wisdom Truth, was by no means a weakling. Their magical combat had been spectacular—flawless techniques, exquisite spells, and terrifying power. Whether in a physical clash or a duel of spells, his skills were what others would consider their ultimate trump cards; he was truly just a step away from the stage of a Great Bodhisattva.
Had they been forced to fight him at the same stage, most of them lacked the confidence to win. That such a formidable figure still fell to the newly arrived Taiyi Taoist could only be attributed to the whims of fate.
Amidst the crowd, the purple-robed youth allowed a rare smile to touch his lips. The Taiyi Taoist’s overwhelming victory against Wisdom Truth had far surpassed his hopes. This meant the remaining two matches of this invitation duel were essentially decided, buying them precious time for the looming Great War, which brought him a measure of relief.
Despite his calm and composed exterior, the weight of his responsibilities created an indescribable pressure within his heart. While the Taiyi Taoist’s appearance couldn't turn the tide of the actual war, the boost to morale was of significant importance.
His only regret was that the Taiyi Taoist had no easy way to slay Wisdom Truth. A figure of that caliber would likely ascend to become another Great Bodhisattva in the future. Thinking of this, he grew restless, barely able to stifle the impulse to personally execute Wisdom Truth.
In the void of the Outer Realm, within the battlefield.
Wang Ba's brow twitched slightly as he slowly retracted his Dao Treasure, his heart free of regret. Even without a Dao Treasure, killing such a foe would require a significant amount of time—time enough for the opponent to flee or for the Eastern Great Bodhisattva to step in personally.
Execution was destined to be impossible. Rather than squandering effort on a futile kill, it was better to consider how to handle the next two fights appropriately.
Across from him, the Red Bodhisattva lingered. Instead of retreating immediately, he looked at Wang Ba and spoke with a heavy tone: “My Buddha Treasures and the divine beasts…”
Wang Ba’s expression remained indifferent. “They are mine.”
The Red Bodhisattva’s face grew grim. Six top-grade Buddha Treasures were no small loss. Even within the ranks of the Supreme True Buddha, such treasures were exceptionally rare; usually, only those at the Bodhisattva stage could obtain them through the exchange of great merits. He had only possessed so many because of his immense power and the favor of the Great Bodhisattva, all earned through accumulated merits. He could not simply stand by and watch Wang Ba seize them.
Yet, having already been defeated, he had no confidence in his ability to take them back by force.
In that instant, a sudden chill raced down Wang Ba’s spine! His vision blurred for a moment, and when his sight cleared, he saw a colossal Buddha statue seated high above. With hands joined and a face radiating compassion, it looked down upon him with benevolent eyes.
“Supreme True Buddha… The Layman used divine beasts to steal victory; it could be argued this match is void. We shall not quibble over that, but why does the Layman still persist in holding the treasures and guardian beasts of the Buddha Gate?”
Wang Ba’s heart hammered against his ribs! He looked up in shock; the towering Buddha statue was none other than the Eastern Great Bodhisattva! The surrounding area had turned into a desolate, white void. The Cloud Sky Realm and the other monks had vanished, leaving only him and the massive Buddha.
“When did this happen…”
Wang Ba was deeply shaken, realizing he had been pulled into an illusory realm without even noticing the transition.
Before he could respond, a voice suddenly vibrated from behind him—a sound like the clashing of jade and metal, sharp and resonant: “Eastern Grand Monk, you are violating the rules.”
