Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant Chapter 2291: 164: Magical Combat (Part 1)
Previously on Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant...
“As previously theorized, the Immortal Pass likely shares a deep origin with Tibo, and the Supreme True Buddha appears to have complex ties to Tibo as well… Consequently, it is only logical that the Dharma practiced by the Supreme True Buddha’s monks is interconnected with the Immortal Pass.”
“If the Dharma utilized by these monks can be decoded, might it provide a breakthrough for overcoming the Immortal Pass?”
This hypothesis emerged instinctively within Wang Ba’s mind.
He turned his attention toward Wisdom Dragon Bodhisattva, his observation becoming increasingly meticulous and focused.
Even though he could vaguely track the movements of Wisdom Dragon Bodhisattva, the underlying laws governing them remained a mystery to him.
“I missed an opportunity; I should have abducted a member of the Supreme True Buddha earlier for investigation.”
Wang Ba felt a flicker of secret regret.
Given his current level of insight, even if he were to begin practicing the Supreme True Buddha’s Dharma from the very beginning, he would rapidly ascend to a high level, allowing him to perceive and understand the specific rules manifested by these monks.
While these thoughts occupied his mind, the battle within the Outer Realm Void between Chen Zhongqi and Wisdom Dragon Bodhisattva grew increasingly desperate and violent.
Wisdom Dragon Bodhisattva followed the path of Body Cultivation, bolstered by Buddhist Law and the Vajra Unbreakable technique. His combat style was aggressive and direct, largely ignoring defense. Wielding a Zen Stick, he easily brushed aside Chen Zhongqi’s numerous counterattacks. Utilizing the power of a top-grade Dao Treasure, he launched a relentless assault that Chen Zhongqi struggled to endure; the Dao Domain condensed upon Chen Zhongqi's magic treasure began to crack, forcing him into a desperate retreat just to stay alive.
To any observer, it was evident that a continuous defense would eventually crumble, and Chen Zhongqi’s defeat was merely a matter of time.
“Fellow Daoist Chen is only in the early mid-stages of Crossing Tribulation after all. He lacks the necessary depth of foundation; otherwise, he might have stood a chance.”
“Not necessarily. His previous maneuvers were timed perfectly; it is simply a pity that his Natal Sword Energy cannot compete with the top-grade Dao Treasure held by Wisdom Dragon Bodhisattva.”
“Those from the Supreme True Buddha are truly shameless, bullying others with their top-grade Dao Treasures!”
Someone in the crowd voiced their indignation.
Wang Ba, hearing this, did not entirely concur.
In a duel between cultivators, there is no expectation of fairness; Dao Treasures are essentially an extension of one's own power.
Of course, he held this view not because he personally possessed six or seven top-grade Dao Treasures.
However, if Chen Zhongqi were to fall, having secured only one win in the first five rounds, the pressure on the remaining five combatants would be monumental, as they would be forced to win every single match.
Yet, just as Wang Ba concluded that Chen Zhongqi would succumb to Wisdom Dragon Bodhisattva, a sudden reversal occurred within the water curtain’s stage!
Wisdom Dragon Bodhisattva finally found a gap and swung his Zen Stick down upon Chen Zhongqi, who was a fraction of a second too slow. The blow shattered the layers of Protective Treasure Light surrounding his body!
But in that exact moment, wearing a look of grim determination, Chen Zhongqi took the hit from the Zen Stick head-on. Suddenly, his sword-light erupted with a brilliance far greater than anything he had shown before!
Like a pale dragon, the light surged instantly, and with a sharp whistle, it pierced straight through Wisdom Dragon Bodhisattva’s forehead in the blink of an eye!
Seven or eight points of light appeared on Wisdom Dragon Bodhisattva’s body, marking the exact spots where he had been hit previously. Now, with the Sword Qi surging wildly, the Golden Body on his surface began to rapidly disintegrate!
Dark Demonic Qi began to leak profusely from the cracks in the Golden Body!
Having been struck by the Zen Stick, Chen Zhongqi’s face was ghostly pale, and his Primordial Spirit wavered as if it might drift away. Nevertheless, he did not pause; almost at the same moment he slashed Wisdom Dragon Bodhisattva, he unleashed a second sword beam. Though slightly weaker than the first, it streaked toward the area of Wisdom Dragon Bodhisattva now exposed by the leaking Demonic Qi.
Right then, a voice brimming with peace and compassion resonated from the distance:
“Supreme True Buddha… Layman, please stop; we concede this match.”
Ignoring the plea, Chen Zhongqi drove his sword beam forward with lethal intent!
Just as he was about to land the killing blow on Wisdom Dragon Bodhisattva.
In the following instant.
A sigh echoed, followed by a staggering force that tore through space. It felt exactly like facing the Northern Great Bodhisattva; Chen Zhongqi was completely helpless as he and his sword beam were violently repelled!
“Shameless!”
“Accursed bald donkeys!”
The Taoist Field erupted in a chorus of shocked and furious shouts!
The gaze of the youth in purple robes turned frigid. He was about to intervene but seemed to sense something and hesitated for a moment.
At that second, everyone witnessed a streak of green light cutting through the air.
Simultaneously, Chen Zhongqi felt a powerful force catch him from behind, instantly neutralizing the momentum that was tossing him back. Then, a familiar voice spoke in his ear:
“Fellow Daoist Chen, are you harmed?”
“Fellow Daoist Taiyi?!”
Hearing that voice, Chen Zhongqi felt a mix of shock and relief, turning quickly to see who it was.
A figure in blue robes hovered just behind him, the fabric showing faint traces of an earthy yellow hue.
It was Wang Ba.
“My thanks, Fellow Daoist Taiyi; I am embarrassed to require your rescue once again.”
Despite his pale complexion, Chen Zhongqi raised his hand in a gesture of gratitude.
“There is no need for such formalities. You nearly took the life of a Bodhisattva and secured this victory; I should be the one congratulating you… Fellow Daoist, you should return and rest now.”
Wang Ba offered a small smile, but his eyes darkened as he watched Wisdom Dragon Bodhisattva. Overflowing with Demonic Qi, the monk’s demeanor had transformed into something hideous and malicious. Wearing an expression of pure resentment, the monk flew toward the horizon.
There, in the void, the light of the Buddha shone brilliantly, veiled in celestial clouds.
On various Lotus Platforms sat or stood Bodhisattvas, Arhats, and Heavenly Maidens, as numerous as the mountains and seas, each backed by a shimmering Buddha wheel.
Sacred melodies echoed as lotus flowers bloomed in the air.
In the center of it all stood a colossal Buddha, towering over all the others.
