Gu Sheng used his Heavenly Demon Vines to intimidate a group of martial artists, forcing them to flee the ruins after killing one of them as a demonstration of power. He then directed them to believe that "Xiao Beixuan of Great Wilderness City" was responsible for their leader's death. Gu Sheng and Gu Yuan then proceeded deeper into the ruins towards Thousand Souls Hall.

Gu Sheng looked at the young girl kneeling before him, watching the flames burning in her eyes, and nodded slightly.

"Rise. Once the decision is made, there can be no turning back. When we return to Great Wilderness City, you will undergo Exchange Technique and start anew, and then perform the formal disciple ceremony."

"Yes! Disciple follows orders! Thank you, Master!"

Gu Yuanyuan stood up excitedly, with a glistening sparkle in her eyes.

Exchange Technique and start anew! This means Master will teach her the supreme Cultivation Technique that truly matches her bloodline!

This excited her more than any promise!

"Let’s go."

Gu Sheng said no more, his gaze shifted to the deeper, darker, more ancient, and chaotic area of the ruins.

"Let’s head to the Thousand Souls Hall first."

"Master," Gu Yuanyuan hurriedly said.

"Disciple knows of a hidden place near the Thousand Souls Hall. When disciple fortuitously obtained that incomplete Cultivation Technique, I sensed unusual fluctuations there, perhaps it’s an undiscovered opportunity.

Once matters at Thousand Souls Hall are settled, disciple would like to bring Master to explore it."

Gu Sheng’s eyes carried an imperceptible hint of approval.

This disciple was indeed clever, understanding where to add value.

He nodded.

"Sure."

The two took to the sky again, flying towards the core area of the ancient city ruins.

Their speed wasn’t fast, Gu Sheng seemed to be deliberately observing the terrain below and the changes in energy flow.

While flying, Gu Yuanyuan hesitated slightly but eventually gathered the courage to ask.

"Master... disciple dares to ask, what is Master’s true name?"

"Gu Sheng."

Gu Sheng’s voice came calmly.

Gu Yuanyuan silently recited this name several times in her heart, memorizing it firmly.

She asked again.

"Does Master have other disciples in Great Wilderness City?"

"Yes."

Gu Sheng’s answer was still succinct.

"Registered Disciples. For now, you won’t be able to meet them."

Gu Yuanyuan understood. The status between Registered Disciples and personal disciples is vastly different.

For Master to take her as a disciple is already a tremendous opportunity.

She asked no more questions, only strengthening her resolve to cultivate earnestly, hoping to gain Master’s true recognition soon.

As they ventured deeper, the scene of the ruins became more desolate and ruined.

The remaining structures were taller and more ancient, vastly different from the current era, covered in marks of time’s erosion and massive scars left by battles.

The energy in the air was also extremely chaotic, sometimes bone-chillingly cold, sometimes blisteringly hot, and occasionally accompanied by bizarre gales containing spatial fragments.

Gu Sheng’s sky-controlling speed became increasingly slow, and his brows slightly furrowed.

He sensed a powerful and covert restriction force permeating the Void ahead, like an invisible web, covering the entire core area.

"There’s a no-fly Array ahead, with a broad range and considerable strength."

Gu Sheng halted and spoke to Gu Yuanyuan.

"Once we land, stay within three steps of me, do not act on your own. The restrictions here are numerous, one wrong step could lead to eternal doom."

"Yes! Disciple understands!"

Gu Yuanyuan responded solemnly, realizing the danger of a place that warranted such serious caution from Master.

The two slowly descended, preparing to land on the edge of an old plaza paved with giant bluestone slabs. Around the plaza were the remnants of collapsed palaces.

Just as they were about to land, Gu Sheng’s eyes suddenly sharpened like a bolt of lightning, shooting toward the shadow of a relatively intact palace ruin on the other side of the plaza!

"Someone’s there!"

Gu Yuanyuan also sensed the anomaly, calling out softly.

They saw several figures rushing rapidly towards where they were about to land!

The breaths of those figures were concealed, their movements swift, obviously of no weak Cultivation, and they were heading straight for the two of them!

The two landed, the tips of their toes barely touching the cold, hard bluestone slab when the figures had already arrived nearby, fanning out as if to surround them.

The leader was Zhao Boyang, still wearing his slightly tattered blue outfit, his aura steady, but with an imperceptible weariness between his eyebrows, his robe stained with dark brown splotches and several tears.

Beside him, apart from the burly man and the tall thin Array Master seen before, was an additional woman in black attire.

That woman’s figure was graceful, her face cold, her complexion a bit pale, her eyes like deep pools, calm and undisturbed.

She wore a snug black night suit outlining her curvy figure, casually draped with a black cloak, her aura restrained, as if merging into the shadow, the Miss Jin’er mentioned by Zhao Boyang.

The other figures, including the burly man and the tall thin Array Master, also bore injuries, their breaths slightly disordered, clearly having experienced a fierce battle.

"Brother Gu, we meet again."

Zhao Boyang spoke first, showing a wry smile, clasping his hands in greeting.

"It seems we truly are fated to meet, even in the depths of these ruins."

Gu Sheng’s gaze calmly swept over Zhao Boyang and his group, lingering momentarily on the woman in black, Jin’er, before returning, speaking indifferently.

"Brother Zhao, I hope you have been well. It seems last night, you all went through quite an ordeal."

"More than just an ordeal!"

The burly man beside Zhao Boyang couldn’t help but interject with a muffled voice, his face showing signs of lingering fear.

"Last night we were chased by a group of crazed residual souls for half the night! If it weren’t for Miss Jin’er’s timely help, setting up a special Array to block the enemy, we might have been done for at the ’Broken Soul Corridor’ over there!"

He looked at Jin’er with eyes full of gratitude.

Jin’er only nodded slightly without speaking, her gaze calmly falling on Gu Sheng, with a subtle scrutiny.
