Gu Sheng emerged from the Secret Realm to find Heavenly Ghost City in chaos following the death of its ancestor. He departed the city and traveled east for three days. Upon reaching the next city, he discovered it was under the control of the Five Poison Divine Sect, who were selling antidotes for the poisonous fog enveloping the city. Gu Sheng was identified by a Blood Soul Arrow mark and after a brief fight with the sect members, stole their antidote tokens and fled into a swamp. He evaded pursuit by faking his trail and spent the next half month traveling through the wilderness to avoid the Five Poison Divine Sect. Finally, Gu Sheng arrived at Xiaguang City, a major city of the Purple Mist Divine Sect, where he was intercepted by a woman.
