With Ying Zheng's words falling, a palpable killing intent permeated the entirety of the Morning Discussion Hall.
"At your command!" The Imperial Guard Army's unified response echoed, their swords simultaneously raised.
"Restoring our country and seeking revenge are now but empty talks," a voice declared. "Qin shall not be destroyed."
Zhang Liang, amidst his internal bitterness, closed his eyes, lamenting, "Father, I cannot avenge you."
"Damn Qin bandit, kill me if you dare! I do not fear you," defiant shouts arose. "Though Chu has but three families, it shall be Chu that destroys Qin. One day, your Qin will surely fall to my Great Chu!"
Xiang Liang bellowed with laughter, seemingly delivering his final proclamation before his demise. "Uncle," Xiang Yu joined in, his laughter hearty, "In the next life, uncle and nephew will meet again, and we shall destroy Qin."
Of course, beyond the defiant and the unafraid, a multitude trembled in terror, begging for mercy. Yet, their desperate pleas moved no Qin ministers.
"Execute!" Ren Xiao's command rang out. Hundreds of Imperial Guards brought down their swords, and hundreds of heads tumbled to the ground. Blood painted the Imperial Conference Square crimson.
"Hmm?" At that very moment, Ying Zheng uttered a surprised sound, his gaze fixed. One Imperial Guard's sword hung suspended in mid-air, struggling to descend but unable to strike. Directly beneath the faltering blade was Xiang Yu.
"Your Majesty," the Imperial Guard sheepishly confessed, turning around, "This one seems to have an issue; I simply cannot bring the sword down."
Xiang Yu erupted in laughter. "Ying Zheng! Kill me if you can! Laozi is protected by the heavens; you cannot kill me!" Though prepared to die, the guard's inability to strike filled Xiang Yu with overconfidence, leading him to shout wildly.
"Why is this?" Ying Zheng mused aloud, observing Xiang Yu. "It seems he possesses a force similar to Qi Fortune protecting him?" A distinct aura of fortune, separate from Qin's own National Fortune, emanated from Xiang Yu.
"Can't kill you?" Ying Zheng sneered, raising his hand. The Jade Seal of National Treasure materialized in his grasp. "Heavenly mandate ordained, live long and prosper!" he proclaimed inwardly. "Even if he has fortune protecting him, can it withstand the vast National Fortune of Qin?"
"Father." A voice reached Ying Zheng's ear. Shortly thereafter, Zhao Feng and Guiguzi emerged from the void, their descent gentle onto the Imperial Conference Square.
Upon Zhao Feng's return, the ministers, initially stunned, quickly bowed in unison. "Ministers greet the Crown Prince."
"No need for formalities," Zhao Feng replied with a slight smile. "Thank you, Crown Prince," the ministers responded collectively.
"Is this gentleman perhaps Master Guiguzi?" Ying Zheng's gaze settled upon Guiguzi.
"Minister greets Your Majesty," Guiguzi responded with a smile, bowing to Ying Zheng. "State Preceptor, please rise quickly. I have long heard Feng'er speak of you," Ying Zheng said warmly. "Now that the State Preceptor is willing to join Qin, it is a blessing for our kingdom." He laughed heartily. "Ministers, pay respects to the State Preceptor."
"Greet the State Preceptor," the numerous ministers bowed towards Guiguzi, their eyes filled with reverence. Guiguzi! They had indeed heard from Zhao Feng before that he was an immortal among men.
"Ministers, no need for formalities," Guiguzi stated with a smile. "I was originally an outsider but have been honored by His Majesty and the Crown Prince to join Qin; this is my blessing."
"Haha. State Preceptor, you flatter us," Ying Zheng chuckled. "With you joining Qin, it is truly like a tiger adding wings."
Then, Ying Zheng gestured towards the hundreds of corpses littering the square. "This time the meteor fell, and these remnants still wish to disturb my Qin. I had anticipated this long ago." He turned to his son. "Feng'er, today, the remnants of the Six States are wiped clean." Ying Zheng declared with a cold smile.
"Their desire to destroy my Qin never dies," Zhao Feng added with a faint smile. "They deserve death." His gaze then shifted to Xiang Yu, and he began to walk over slowly. "Father, ministers," Zhao Feng inquired, "do you know why ordinary weapons cannot kill him?"
"Why?" Ying Zheng echoed, genuinely puzzled at this moment. "This person's body seems to possess a force like National Fortune protecting him; ordinary weapons cannot cut him," he surmised.
"But with the power of the National Fortune, I can surely kill him," Ying Zheng asserted confidently.
"Do you know of the Heavenly Destiny, Father?" Zhao Feng asked with a smile.
"Since our ancestors established Qin, holding territory in the west, the reason we achieved unification today wasn't luck, but the courage and unbreakable spirit of past rulers and the old Qin people that forged our current state."
"I, myself, have never believed in so-called Heavenly Destiny." Ying Zheng smiled faintly, carrying an emperor's inherent arrogance.
"If one claims my father became King of Qin and unified the world, surpassing Qin's inherent strength, it could also be attributed to Heavenly Destiny, as under its decree, Qin was fated to unite Shenzhou and complete the Huaxia reunification."
"However, under Heavenly Destiny, Qin is also meant to fall within two generations."
"That, was the original Heavenly Destiny."
"Previously, I revealed a vision of the future to Father and you, my ministers."
"That was the original Heavenly Destiny." Zhao Feng stated calmly.
"What does this have to do with him?" Ying Zheng gestured towards Xiang Yu, inquiring.
"He is the one destined to bring about Qin's destruction, according to the original Heavenly Destiny."
Zhao Feng gazed at Xiang Yu, a sneer gracing his lips.
"Just him?"
Ying Zheng regarded Xiang Yu with a hint of disdain.
"Precisely this individual."
"Years ago, I eliminated a person of Heavenly Destiny."
"But that was merely a coincidence as well."
"It occurred while Father was performing the sacrificial rites at Mount Tai, and during our passage through Pei County, I encountered that individual marked by Heavenly Destiny."
"I dealt with him then and there."
"During that encounter, it was similar; weapons were ineffective against him, and even Grandmasters couldn't inflict injury.
"Ultimately, it was I who personally subdued and killed him." Zhao Feng recounted slowly.
