Yue Yang discovers the previous owner of his body was hardworking but underestimated due to his inability to contract a summoning grimoire. He learns about the diminished importance of weapon arts compared to summoning and the history of the Yue Family Spear Technique, half of which was lost long ago. Yue Yang also identifies the previous owner's two rivals: his cousin Yue Yan and the mayor's son, Xue Qian Ren. He then dreams of a beautiful goddess who reveals a mysterious technique called Innate Invisible Sword Qi.

Despite being considered an idiot, Yue Yang recognized the immense value of what he had acquired.

The mere mention of the word "Innate" was sufficient to convey the extraordinary power of this sword skill.

Mastering the Yue Clan’s Spear Technique to its absolute peak would qualify as an [Innate] ranked skill. However, currently, no one within the Yue Family possessed such a rank, and it hadn't happened in millennia. The deceased father of the previous occupant of this body had shown the greatest potential to reach the Innate rank, but tragically, his early demise meant the Yue Family lost a warrior of immense promise.

At present, the only individuals holding [Innate] ranked skills were found among the Heavenly Imperial Guardians, protectors of the Three Royal Households, with two each in the esteemed Feng and Xue Major Clans.

However, popular rumors suggested that the two [Innate] rankers within the Feng and Xue Families were ancient figures, having lived for four to five hundred years.

The truth remained unknown to the public...

What was most critical for Yue Yang was that none of these [Innate] rankers had achieved their status independently.

[Innate Rankers]. Their entry into the [Innate] realm was facilitated by the assimilation of a Holy Beast or a Mythical Beast. This process dramatically amplified one's strength and potential for growth, making the attainment of the [Innate] rank more accessible. Nevertheless, this was an exceedingly gradual journey, typically requiring at least a century, and sometimes two to three hundred years, to fully enter the [Innate] realm and become an [Innate Ranker].

Furthermore, any warrior on the Soaring Dragon Continent was expected to dedicate a minimum of one hundred years to mastering a prerequisite skill before commencing the cultivation of an [Innate] skill.

Yue Yang, however, realized he could begin cultivating this [Innate] skill immediately.

The [Innate] Invisible Sword Qi Skill, imparted to him in his dreams by the Heavenly Sword Goddess, came without any prerequisites.

To reach the [Innate] realm, one needed to harmonize with the earth and the surrounding atmosphere, absorbing the [Spiritual Energy] within them. This energy would cleanse the body, enhancing the clarity of the spirit. The process would fundamentally alter the body's entire structure, from flesh and muscle to bone marrow, while simultaneously refining the Sword Qi Skill to breach the [Innate] realm and achieve true enlightenment.

“Old geezer, no, Master, this Heavenly Sword Goddess must be your granddaughter. As you have betrothed your granddaughter to your disciple, I shall cherish her dearly and ensure her happiness. Master, if I receive no reply, I shall interpret it as your consent. I shall count to three: one, two, three. Very well, you have agreed. Thank you, Master,” the brazen young man clasped his hands together and muttered to himself.

Were these words to reach the ears of the Old Daoist Priest, he would likely banish this shameless fellow to the netherworld and incinerate him alive with the fires of hell.

Yue Yang wished to indulge in more sleep and perhaps encounter the sword spirit again, but his excitement prevented any further rest.

He earnestly attempted to quell his rapidly beating heart and began his training of the first stage of the [Innate] Invisible Sword Qi. Yue Yang was not naturally inclined towards diligent effort, but his lifetime happiness was at stake. He felt an absolute necessity to master this skill, and with the utmost speed.

Consequently, he resolved to train both during his waking hours and within his dreams at night.

The Heavenly Sword Goddess would impart instructions on the skill before vanishing instantly. Yue Yang surmised she was observing her betrothed's progress, which spurred him to train with even greater fervor in his dreams.

Initially, the process of absorbing [Spiritual Energy] from the earth and atmosphere proved exceedingly slow. Despite absorbing for an entire day, he managed to gather merely a few drops.

However, Yue Yang discovered that his mind could establish a more profound connection with the earth and atmosphere within the mysterious dreamscape. This resulted in a severalfold increase in the rate of [Spiritual Energy] absorption. Thus, Yue Yang generally slept deeply, training vigorously in his dreams. He would sleep until his head ached, then rise to stretch before continuing his training indoors. Driven by the prospect of lifelong happiness, Yue Yang confined himself to his room, dedicating himself to diligent practice.

The beautiful woman visited him on a few occasions but found him sound asleep. She attributed his prolonged slumber to his body's weakened state following his suicide attempt, believing he simply required extensive rest.

Sometimes, Yue Yang would be observed meditating with great seriousness. Believing he was diligently honing his summoning abilities, she felt an immense sense of gladness.

Each day, she would accompany the young girl to visit Yue Yang.

Today, the beautiful woman delivered joyous tidings. "San-er, your Fourth Uncle has learned of your successful contract with a summoning grimoire! He was overjoyed and has journeyed to our Clan’s Main Castle to convey this wonderful news to our clan elder. He shall return in a few days. Furthermore, he utilized the thousand gold we've saved over the years to acquire a [Spirit Beast Awakening Knowledge Pill] from the Floating Mist Market. We are confident it will significantly aid your training. It might even allow you to advance to level 2, breaking through your current [Beginner] rank into a new realm."

"[Spirit Beast Awakening Knowledge Pill]?" Upon hearing the name, Yue Yang’s knowledge seemed to churn, and he suddenly recognized the term.

Amongst the Four Major Clans, talented warriors unable to form a contract with a summoning grimoire typically sought assistance from the Four Great Sects.

These sects generally offered a few types of [Spirit Pills] for purchase, and these were exceptionally costly.

Ingesting these pills greatly enhanced the likelihood of successfully contracting a summoning grimoire. While not guaranteeing a 100% success rate, it boosted it to at least 30%, naturally making them highly sought after by countless individuals.

However, the [Spirit Pills] provided by the Four Great Sects were a luxury item far beyond the reach of ordinary people.

Not only was their supply limited, but their price was also exorbitant.

Yue Yang was astonished by the immeasurable affection the beautiful woman and her husband displayed towards the pitiable lad, going to such lengths as to procure a [Spirit Beast Awakening Knowledge Pill] for him.

Based on the local currency, one gold coin is equivalent to one hundred silver coins or ten thousand copper coins.

A thousand gold coins thus translates to ten million copper coins.

The beautiful woman had divested herself of all their family's assets and even pawned her dowry to gather the funds for the [Spirit Beast Awakening Knowledge Pill]. Yue Yang noticed the beautiful woman wore only simple adornments on her head, hinting at the immense value of a thousand gold coins. Without the clan's inheritance, who could possibly possess such a substantial sum to purchase a [Spirit Pill]?

The beautiful woman had supported the pitiful guy to an astonishing degree...

"You can give the pill to Shuang-er meimei; I've already successfully formed a contract," Yue Yang said, unable to suppress his deep emotion. The beautiful woman's kindness was truly profound.

"What nonsense are you spouting? Shuang-er is still young; how can we be certain she won't form a summoning grimoire contract in the future? Perhaps next year this girl might successfully contract a grimoire! This [Spirit Beast Awakening Knowledge Pill] was purchased for you. Although you've successfully contracted, it was somewhat delayed. If you take the pill, you can catch up to your peers and fulfill the expectations of your Fourth Uncle and myself. Your parents would also wish for your future success and for you to bring honor to our Yue Clan. Why are you being so difficult?" The beautiful woman immediately became displeased upon hearing Yue Yang’s refusal, her expression showing unhappiness. She advised him with heartfelt words, "San-er, although your Fourth Uncle is a minor official, our family is considered reasonably prosperous. However, saving a thousand gold was no easy feat, so you mustn't disregard our good intentions..."

"Yes, yes... I was mistaken." Yue Yang quickly conceded. Though the [Spirit Pill] wasn't intended for him, he was deeply touched by the beautiful woman's benevolent feelings.

"I have already sent a letter requesting Bing-er to take a temporary leave from her studies and return home. She can instruct you in some basic summoning techniques. I anticipate her arrival tomorrow; perhaps you should check if any preparations are needed. Si Niang knows you are diligent, but do not overexert yourself. Understand your own limits. Rest well tonight; cease your meditation."

The beautiful woman was unaware that Yue Yang had been sleeping and eating sufficiently these past few days. The [Innate] Invisible Sword Qi could only be mastered by absorbing the [Spiritual Energy] from the earth and surrounding atmosphere.

The more Yue Yang trained, the more invigorated his body felt. Fatigue during training was nonexistent for him.

However, to avoid causing the beautiful woman undue worry, Yue Yang felt compelled to retire to bed early...

Perhaps touched by the generosity of the beautiful woman who purchased the [Spirit Beast Awakening Knowledge Pill] for him, a significant shift occurred in Yue Yang's state of mind. While training within his dreams, he experienced a sudden enlightenment regarding his skill progression.

All the [Spiritual Energy] within his body began to converge into a single, unified flow.

This energy gathered at his armpits and coursed down to his hands. The Spiritual Energy then permeated his Yun Men acupoint on his shoulders, the Tian Fu, Che Zhe, and Kong Zui acupoints along his arms, and subsequently reached the Lie Que and Tai Yuan acupoints in his wrists.

Finally, it filled the Shao Shang acupoint located in his thumbs.

The energy surged multiple times, and faint flashes of Sword Qi began to emanate from his thumb.

Witnessing this remarkable development, Yue Yang was so profoundly shocked that he unintentionally awoke from his dream.

Back in reality, Yue Yang earnestly attempted to replicate the experience he had in his dream.

He persisted in his efforts until, with a sudden flash, Sword Qi sliced through his walls...

Yue Yang finally understood that he had successfully breached the first energy channel of the initial stage of the [Innate] Invisible Sword Qi technique, known as the Hand-Taiyin.

The Sword Qi originating from his body was merely a few inches long, a far cry from the Heavenly Sword Goddess's impressive ten-meter-long Sword Qi that could be wielded with such mastery. Nevertheless, despite the current pitiful state of his Sword Qi, Yue Yang was so overwhelmingly ecstatic that he felt an urge to transform into a wolf, gaze at the sky, and let out a mighty howl...
