Living In Another World With A Farm Chapter 8541: Seeing and hearts.1
Capítulo 8541: Seeing and hearts.1
A burst of white light flashed, and the pair materialized in a vast area. Beneath them lay an enormous teleportation array. Next to it stood a man who paused in surprise upon spotting them in the array, then grinned and remarked, “Uncle Bao, you've returned. Is this the fellow you brought along?”
Manager Bao gave a nod and addressed the man, “This is Cheng Wanchun. I guided him into the Ghostwind Bandits myself. We'll chat later; I need to take him for registration first.” “Sure,” the man responded, casting a quick look at Cheng Wanchun. Cheng Wanchun, however, remained oblivious, utterly captivated by the sight before him.
This space stretched out immensely. No blood mist lingered here. White clouds drifted across the sky, accompanied by a shining sun. They stood atop a mountain peak. Beyond the teleportation formation, numerous rooms dotted the area. Gazing afar, endless mountains filled the view. The expanse surpassed any island he'd encountered. Such a wonder had never crossed his path, leaving him deeply astonished.
Shopkeeper Bao glanced at Cheng Wanchun with a chuckle. “Enough staring for now. This will be your home from here on, so you'll have endless opportunities to explore. Let's head to registration.” With those words, he guided Cheng Wanchun away from the formation. Nearby, a building awaited. Shopkeeper Bao directed him straight there.
Cheng Wanchun snapped out of his daze, his eyes sparkling with thrill as he scanned the surroundings. He murmured to Shopkeeper Bao, “Brother Bao, is this our Ghostwind Bandits' base? It's massive! What island is this on? I've never come across an island this huge.” Since learning of Shopkeeper Bao's invitation to join the Ghostwind Bandits, Cheng Wanchun had started using “our,” which left Shopkeeper Bao a bit exasperated. Yet, considering Cheng Wanchun's fated entry into the Ghostwind Bandits, he let it slide without correction.
Shopkeeper Bao eyed Cheng Wanchun and grinned. “It's no island. This is the inner space within a magical artifact crafted by our sect master. Actually, that artifact is still navigating the Blood Sea. That's why we've stayed hidden from sight for years—no one can track us down.”
“Inner space? This turns out to be an inner space? Amazing!” Cheng Wanchun gasped in shock. The revelation of it being an inner space floored him so much that he overlooked Shopkeeper Bao's mention of “sect master” instead of “chief” or “boss.”
Indeed, after years of growth, everyone inside the boat space recognized themselves as part of the Blood Slaughter Sect. They had all pledged to the Blood Slaughter Sect, viewing themselves as its disciples. Of course, when operating externally, they'd claim affiliation with the Ghostwind Bandits, never the Blood Slaughter Sect. Exposing their true ties to the Blood Slaughter Sect was strictly forbidden.
Shopkeeper Bao smiled as he ushered Cheng Wanchun into a building. A series of elegant structures lined the way, all in traditional Chinese style with green bricks and tiles, quite picturesque. Inside, a line of wide counters awaited. Young, attractive female cultivators sat behind them, organizing items and occasionally chatting. They appeared quite at ease.
The sound of the door drew their attention, and they turned toward Shopkeeper Bao and his companion. Spotting him, several women beamed and called out, “Uncle Bao, welcome back. It's been ages since we last saw you.” They clearly knew him well—in fact, it was inevitable. Before his assignment as a shopkeeper, he'd managed for a long stretch. These very female cultivators had once fallen under his oversight.
His dispatch outward aimed to establish an intelligence web within the Corpse Demon Sect, a task he'd handled adeptly, weaving a solid network there. Devoting himself fully to it, he hadn't recruited anyone into the space until now. Cheng Wanchun marked the first he'd brought in, prompting Shopkeeper Bao's personal escort.
Shopkeeper Bao beamed at the female cultivators and said, “I'm back. This outing dragged on for a good while. Here, I've got some little trinkets for you all. Nothing extravagant, but they're popular outside. They'll make you look stunning.” As he spoke, he pulled a stack of small items from his space. These were dainty accessories with minimal utility—some for minor magical strikes, others for basic defense. Not powerful, yet exquisitely crafted, tiny and charming. They delighted female cultivators everywhere. Shopkeeper Bao distributed some among them.
The women eagerly clustered around the gifts, selecting their favorites with joy. It took a short time to finish. Shopkeeper Bao waited patiently, smiling warmly. These women had risen from devoted slaves to Blood Slaughter Sect disciples. Their bond ran deep. To Shopkeeper Bao, they felt like his own kin, so he watched over them fondly, unhurried.
Once the female cultivators finished picking, they thanked Shopkeeper Bao with bright smiles. He returned the grins, exchanging a few words with them. Then, he turned to one and said, “Little Guo, come over here. Register him and run the test. He's the first I've brought to our group—keep a good note of him.”
The young woman named Guo Zi promptly agreed and handled Cheng Wanchun's registration. Afterward, she produced a formation disk and instructed him, “Place your hand here.” Though puzzled, Cheng Wanchun complied, resting his hand on the disk. By now, he fully trusted Shopkeeper Bao's intentions. With Shopkeeper Bao's power, harming him would have been effortless if desired.
As Cheng Wanchun's hand touched the array disk, a white glow emanated from it. The light formed a ring that scanned his entire form. Then it faded, and the disk illuminated. Guo Zi examined the glow intently.
Moments later, Guo Zi nodded, retrieved the array plate, crafted an identity token for Cheng Wanchun, and handed it over. She also produced a jade slip for Shopkeeper Bao. He accepted it, probing it with his spiritual sense. Surprise flickered across his face as he looked at Guo Zi, who simply nodded back.
Shopkeeper Bao grasped the situation at once. He nodded and replied, “Alright, understood. Handle the rest for him. I'm heading out.” Turning to Cheng Wanchun, he added, “Little Cheng, strive hard in your cultivation here and follow all directives. I deal strictly with those who disobey. Got it?”
Cheng Wanchun nodded and exchanged a few words with Shopkeeper Bao. Shopkeeper Bao offered no further reply, merely clapping Cheng Wanchun on the shoulder before departing, leaving Cheng Wanchun bewildered in place. At that point, Guo Zi softly tinkled a bell on the desk, and someone entered promptly.
Guo Zi addressed the newcomer, “This is Cheng Wanchun, our latest recruit. Here's his info and assignment details. Escort him there.” She handed over a jade slip. The man accepted it, skimmed the contents, nodded, and said to Cheng Wanchun, “Come with me.”
Cheng Wanchun agreed and trailed the man out. Exiting the building, they ascended into the air, soaring toward the mountain range. Cheng Wanchun peered downward during the flight, noting that nearly every peak hosted a courtyard—varying in size, yet all bustling with activity. It suggested a sizable population.
They passed over a dozen mountains before descending onto one. This peak featured a courtyard, uniquely grand and aesthetically pleasing. Floral carvings adorned the walls, including shadow windows. A signboard above the entrance read “Mountain Range Academy.” Flanking the gate were couplets: the first line fixed and scholarly, with recitations audible inside. The second proclaimed, “All things in the world reside in your heart!” It exuded profound scholarly vibe. Cheng Wanchun stood stunned—this didn't resemble a bandits' lair at all.
The man guided Cheng Wanchun inside the courtyard. Soon, they were within. The space enchanted with rockeries, streams, abundant flora, and stone benches. Scholars in robes gathered at the tables, engaged in lively discussion. Cheng Wanchun eavesdropped, discovering they debated book contents—not cultivation methods, but histories from the Confucian school.
Those in the courtyard spotted the arrivals. One rose swiftly, approaching with a bow. “Greetings, what brings you to our Mountain Range Academy?”
The guide cupped his fists and responded, “Greetings, Scholar Lu. This is Cheng Wanchun, freshly joined. Testing shows he's ideal for study at the Mountain Range Academy. Here's his file. I'll depart now!” With that, he saluted Scholar Lu and exited.
