Gu Xiaoman successfully defeats the Gray Dragon using her Dissolving Dream domain. She then confronts Bai Xiu, demanding to join the assault on the Source Tower as promised. Bai Xiu refuses, stating Gu Xiaoman hasn't comprehended a second domain yet. Gu Nanfeng and Mr. Gu explain the ongoing wars and the strategic stalemate against Deep Sea, suggesting they are waiting for a decisive factor to end the Divine War before committing to an assault. Gu Xiaoman agrees to continue her secluded cultivation.

"Mr. Gu..."

Gu Xiaoman hesitated for a second and took the thin letter.

The old and the young exchanged glances.

Gu Qilin quietly raised a finger, placed it on his lips, and winked at the young girl, signaling her to keep the letter safe.

Gu Xiaoman understood Mr. Gu’s intent and swallowed back the words she was about to speak.

"Today’s battle counts as a major victory."

Gu Nanfeng said, "The low-level Transcendent creatures of the Traveler Tribe reproduce quickly, but there are very few Gray Dragons; losing even one of this level of power is significant!"

Deep Sea orchestrated this conflict to test the strength of the North Continent’s troops.

"There will be a peaceful period coming up."

He paused and returned to the wheelchair behind Gu Qilin, leaning forward, "Mr. Gu... why not take a good rest during this time, and refrain from getting involved in the Gu Castle affairs."

His words were said with much tact.

How could Gu Qilin not realize Gu Nanfeng was asking him not to interfere in the war?

"I’m just charging ahead, not interfering with your high-level decision-making." Mr. Gu coughed dully, somewhat resentful, "Gu Family Master... why even strip away my last bit of freedom?"

The term Gu Family Master left Gu Nanfeng quite helpless.

He lamented as well, "Look at Mr. Zhou Wei... he retired from the frontier last year, resting peacefully in Changye, saving everyone so much trouble?"

The classic "Look at them" beginning.

"Zhou Wei?"

Gu Qilin didn’t buy it, laughed coldly, "That old man has poor health, very weak, simply retreated from the front line after suffering some minor injuries."

Last year, Mr. Zhou Wei was calculated against by Deep Sea in the Gu Castle war, ambushed by two Titled Level Gray Dragons, narrowly escaping alive.

Such a record...

Yet in Mr. Gu’s words turned into "mere minor injuries."

Gu Nanfeng knew this old man had spent his life in warfare, with a distinguished combat record and a stubbornness... according to his standards, the so-called "minor injuries" in "minor injuries do not leave the front line" are injuries just short of death. Given his character, only with half a head buried in the ground would he willingly leave the battlefield.

Clearly, "appeal with emotion and reason" does not work on this stubborn antique.

Gu Nanfeng pushed the wheelchair away from the Snowfield, his tone cold and severe, "As you age, you should rest; I’ve decided for you to rest in Changye. Charging ahead, that’s for the young ones!"

"Hey, hey, hey..."

Mr. Gu grew anxious, wanting to say something, but seeing Bai Xiu and Gu Xiaoman’s indifferent acceptance, he sighed helplessly.

It’s come to this.

Mr. Gu knew... Gu Nanfeng was determined to make him leave the North Continent Battlefield, and there was no room for negotiation.

...

...

After Gu Nanfeng pushed Mr. Gu away, only Bai Xiu and Gu Xiaoman remained on the Snowfield.

And Alfred, like a bee, flew back and forth urging Red Shadow to work.

Gu Xiaoman tightened her sleeves, clutching the letter Mr. Gu had stuffed in her hand.

Bai Xiu glanced at her and looked away.

"I’m... returning to seclusion." Gu Xiaoman, after being glanced at, felt a bit guilty and turned away, wanting to leave quickly.

"Follow me."

Bai Xiu’s soft words stopped her.

The little girl frowned, "Where to? I just fought, and it was tough, isn’t a bit of rest not too much to ask?"

Bai Xiu chuckled lightly.

Tough battle?

The battle where Gu Xiaoman fought the Gray Dragon was obscured by Dream, outsiders couldn’t see clearly... but Bai Xiu knew this was no tough battle, afterward, Gu Xiaoman didn’t even sweat.

Not exposing Gu Xiaoman’s true intentions, Bai Xiu threw another line.

"Aren’t you aiming to enter the Source Tower and refine the Wine Spark? I’ll take you to meet the holder of the Light Fire."

Seeing Gu Xiaoman stunned, Bai Xiu added, "Meng Xizhou is entangled in many affairs, even for me, meeting her isn’t easy. Who knows when the next meeting will be."

With that, he quickened his pace.

Gu Xiaoman’s eyes brightened, quickly following.

...

...

Now Xiyin City in West Continent has become the base for the Light Church.

Originally, the congregation here worshipped the Storm God’s Throne, now they have become Believers of Light.

Storm abandoned them.

So... they abandoned Storm.

Faith, once decided, doesn’t change, even when facing death.

Unless they encounter the Holy Book.

Presiding over the Southern Continent Battlefield, the Light Church selected Xiyin City for their temple branch, using it as a base, gradually dominating the Southern Continent war over four years, but this advantage doesn’t convert into victory.

"Boom!"

In recent days, dark clouds have loomed over Xiyin City, rain incessantly. A white thunderbolt flashed past, as a large and small figure rode the lightning straight into the Light Temple, unnoticed by West Continent’s dispatched sentinels.

However, someone was already waiting inside the temple.

Bai Xiu unfolded Thunder Realm Walker domain, encapsulating Gu Xiaoman in Thunder Light, moving through the fine rain.

Today’s position for Meng Xizhou in West Continent is akin to the Beizhou Empress Lin Lei of yesteryear.
