Gu Shen is entrusted with the fate of three fire seeds by Turing. Turing's clone, stationed in the Time Dojo for 600 years, is dispersing as its mission is complete. Before departing, Turing instructs Gu Shen to give the Torch of Love to Chu Ling, as it is essential for her to gain a body and life. Gu Shen assures Turing he will retrieve the Fire Extinguishing Sword and reignite the Torch of Love. Afterward, Gu Shen is transported to the remnant starship of the Lord of Melting Iron, a pitch-black, sword-like vessel repaired by Turing.

Turing was a traveler, who wrote copious travelogues.

And Gu Shen was that lucky reader who leafed through them.

"Starship... activate."

Gu Shen’s voice ignited in the void, and the Dark Starship shot out instantly.

Sitting in the cockpit, Gu Shen left a stream of Heart Flow Power, controlling the airship from the main cabin.

This was the end of the [Old World], and theoretically, the shortest route was to turn the ship’s bow directly for the return journey, but Gu Shen didn’t do so.

Because he had a vague premonition in his heart.

The "shortest" path might not be the "fastest".

The void of the [Old World] was discontinuous and fragmented. Years ago, Mr. Gu Changzhi left the Time Dojo and encountered a supermassive storm on his return journey... perhaps his premonition was related to this, but Gu Shen decided to bypass the "shortest" route. He made a shocking decision to continue towards the end of the world!

If...

This world is indeed a sphere.

Then the end of the [Old World] right now should be at a certain vertex of that sphere. By making this decision, Gu Shen was both following his inner Spiritual Sense and trying to verify a conjecture that no one had ever proven!

Now finally on the return journey.

But Gu Shen did not feel at ease because of this.

Because he knew, this return journey... would probably take a very long time.

Although in the Dream World, Gu Shen had comprehended the [Portal] ancient script of the Traveler Tribe, here in the real world, he couldn’t open portals at will like in the Dream World. If a storm were encountered, he wouldn’t have the chance to restart.

Gu Shen now wished to know the extent of the war on the Five Continents.

But on this return journey, he knew he couldn’t rush.

He left a stream of Heart Flow Power in the main boat’s cockpit, and allocated the remaining eight streams to the Time Dojo.

Gu Shen decided to awaken the teachers, senior sister, senior brother, and Mr. Rust Bone slumbering in the Time Dojo.

...

...

North Continent, Gu Castle Battlefield.

This once-strategic throat point was no longer called a fortress because of the protracted war... The shattered breach of Gu Castle had become North Continent’s largest battlefield, shrouded in dark clouds. The [Umbrella Defense Line] from that year had completely become history, with Central City strategically retreating seventy miles, establishing a new "giant wall".

The pain of a throat’s gouging settled in the hearts of every North Continent citizen.

From the vantage of the new giant wall, one could see countless fallen "Star Fragments" vaguely forming the shape of a large umbrella, engulfed by dense shades.

The Traveler Tribe had taken root outside the boundary of the Gu Castle battlefield.

The rapidly proliferating Low-level Sacrificials launched daily assaults on this battlefield. Between the giant wall and the Umbrella Defense Line lay a mountainous magnificent island-like Starship, the Initial unleashed a Source Energy Shield, connecting with the North Continent land, plugging the breach of the Gu Castle Fortress in a simple, unadorned manner.

Outside the Source Energy Shield lay the so-called Gu Castle Battlefield.

This was an unprecedented "war of attrition", with Sacrificials like leeching parasites meant to drain the Initial’s "Source Energy Shield" resources. Despite the Starship’s enormity, trapped at Gu Castle, it faced incessant low-level Traveler onslaughts with only the singular path of "enduring depletion"... To ensure enough energy for the Starship to withstand external pressure, the Extraordinary Army of North Continent’s fortress began intervening on the battlefield, as the four major corps and Investigation Corps under the commands of Purple Rain Commander and Lin Lin took turns eradicating the proliferating virus-like Sacrificials.

Year upon year, the war maintained this "balance."

Balance...

Seems to be precisely what [Deep Sea] most hoped to see.

...

...

Snowflakes whirled.

Ta-da-da!

Gunfire tore through the cloudy snowy fog of the Gu Castle Battlefield as Investigation Corps’ extermination squads filed out, emerging one after the other from within the Source Energy Shield.

The current combat protocol of the Investigation Corps was eight people per team, divided into sectors under centralized command, with teams coordinating to complete routine battlefield cleansing operations.

The one stepping first from the Source Energy Shield was a Spiritual Transcendent youth.

The silver vertical pupil glow ignited on his forehead, scanning a range of hundreds of meters for Extraordinary Aura.

[Source Eyes] was the most suitable Extraordinary Ability for deploying combat missions.

A newcomer who once accompanied Gu Shen on the labyrinth task, Li Chen now served as the commander for this routine cleansing duty, leading five squads responsible for the "Sacrificial extermination" in Northwest Zone A of the Gu Castle Battlefield... This was not a heavy task; he had now become Squad Seven’s captain of the Investigation Corps.

With the promotion of the Lion Awakening code, Five Continents Civilization had completely entered the Extraordinary Era, and the Investigation Corps squads’ numbers expanded tenfold.

Under his command were nearly three hundred elite Transcendents!

[Deep Sea]’s attack on the Gu Castle Battlefield... had always been relentless and subtle, like an inexhaustible parasite, resolved to wage a prolonged war.

And Central City’s strategy was to "countermove as needed," with the four major corps striving to eliminate the Sacrificials, ensuring the Initial’s internal energy operations wouldn’t approach critical load.

And today, Li Chen vaguely sensed something was amiss.

This cleansing task showed a noticeably reduced density of Sacrificials compared to before in the surrounding area!
