Legendary Armament Canon Chapter 1503 -: Among the Heroes in the World, Only You and I Are Worthy (1)

For hundreds of years of his existence, Dong Tailai asserted he had never witnessed such a spectacle.
The Dong family found themselves compelled to accept all manner of heavenly treasures, presented by throngs of people lining up to offer them!
Dong Tailai personally experienced the sensation of his hands cramping from the sheer volume of wealth being counted.
Despite this exhausting effort, he insisted on personally inspecting each carriage of forging materials. He meticulously counted every load before escorting them to the Dong family head's residence and entrusting the materials to Cao Yue.
Cao Yue, though nominally from a collateral branch of the Dong family, was now highly regarded by the Dong family head, who had formally accepted him as a disciple.
No suspicion fell upon Cao Yue from the Dong family; after all, the Zhu Rong Heavenly Kingdom teemed with individuals bearing the Dong surname.
Within the Dong family head’s residence, Zhou Shu was engaged in forging. Beside him, Mu Zhixing had also laid out the forging materials he had collected.
Mu Zhixing offered a smile. “King Zhou, the divine artifacts belonging to the Cao, Mi, and Ji families are now in your possession. Might I now borrow the Book of Life and Death?”
“What are your thoughts on the matter?” Zhou Shu inquired with a gentle smile. “What contribution do you believe you made to this entire operation?” Mu Zhixing found himself speechless:
Wasn't it all due to your overwhelming capabilities?
Throughout the entire undertaking, Zhou Shu had operated autonomously. Mu Zhixing's involvement had been entirely unnecessary!
He finally grasped the reason behind Zhou Shu’s initial assertion that he required no information from him.
If that was the case, what kind of intelligence could he possibly have provided?
Had he, Mu Zhixing, possessed such prowess, he could have managed the entire endeavor solo.
Would there have been any necessity to seek out a collaborator?
He, Mu Zhixing, was merely an incidental addition to the plan.
“King Zhou, is there any point in toying with me like this?” Mu Zhixing voiced his frustration.
“Regarding the events at the Glacial Palace, have you sufficiently vented your anger?
“I concede defeat. At the Glacial Palace, I genuinely had no intention of deceiving you, King Zhou. Had I not taken the initiative to lure the Supreme Yin Star Lord away, would Wu Gang have acquiesced? While Wu Gang may be eccentric, his strength is undeniable.
I truly wished to avoid a fatal confrontation with him.”
As he spoke, Mu Zhixing discreetly glanced towards the door.
Outside, Wu Gang maintained his diligent vigil. Despite his erratic nature, as long as he was kept in check, he proved to be an exceptionally capable combatant. Mu Zhixing lamented this fact.
“Observe, your anger has been appeased. Furthermore, I have assisted you in acquiring forging materials. Can we not consider this matter settled?” Mu Zhixing made a pleading gesture.
“Mu Zhixing, this was a transaction based on mutual benefit. Why do you interpret my actions as retribution?” Zhou Shu responded with a nonchalant smile. “Do you genuinely believe your current contributions equate to the value of the Book of Life and Death?”
“Naturally, they do not,” Mu Zhixing admitted candidly. “King Zhou, rest assured, I, Mu
Zhixing, am not an unreasonable individual. Should you permit me to borrow the Book of Life and Death, I shall continue to procure forging materials for you. I assure you, you shall not incur any losses!”
“Given your palpable sincerity, very well. I shall lend you the Book of Life and Death.” A cryptic smile played on Zhou Shu’s lips. With a flick of his wrist, a tome of black and white materialized in his grasp.
Zhou Shu stated with composed finality, “You are welcome to abscond with the Book of Life and
Death. However, should I apprehend you subsequently, you shall face the inevitable repercussions.”
“How could such a possibility arise?” Mu Zhixing countered. “Do I appear to be that sort of person? I declared my intent to borrow it for a year, and for a year it shall be! Indeed, I may not even require the full duration!”
Accepting the Book of Life and Death with both hands, Mu Zhixing affirmed with grave sincerity, “King Zhou, I am indebted to you for this favor. I shall undoubtedly offer generous recompense in the future!”
Zhou Shu acknowledged this with a noncommittal nod. “Just refrain from disparaging me behind my back.”
Mu Zhixing departed with the Book of Life and Death in his possession. The location where he had concealed the Supreme Yin Star Lord remained unknown. Prior to his departure, however, he provided Zhou Shu with the means to exit the Zhu Rong Heavenly Kingdom.
Zhou Shu observed Mu Zhixing’s retreating figure. Mu Zhixing, however cunning you may be, you will inevitably return to implore my aid. You aspire to resurrect the Supreme Yin Star Lord using the Book of Life and Death? A pipe dream.
With another flick of his wrist, Zhou Shu summoned three beams of light that ascended towards the heavens. He extended his hand, pressing downwards to intercept the ascension of the three rays, thereby preventing them from breaching the roof.
Bathed in the light, three divine weapons hovered serenely in the air, emanating a chilling luminescence.
In accordance with their agreement, the Cao, Mi, and Ji families had granted Zhou Shu access to their clan-protecting divine artifacts for the purpose of comprehension.
At this juncture, the patriarchs of the Cao, Mi, and Ji families remained within the Dong Family Fort. They had merely permitted Zhou Shu to study their clan -protecting divine artifacts, not relinquished ownership to the Dong family.
These clan leaders were reluctant to be separated from their treasured artifacts for any significant duration. From this vantage point, any disturbance concerning the clan-protecting divine artifacts would allow for immediate retrieval. Zhou Shu observed the three divine weapons, contemplating the apparent connection between the Zhu Rong Nine Families and the Netherworld. The Cao family’s clan-protecting divine artifact, he noted, was a brush used for judgment. Complementing this, the Mi family possessed a mirror capable of reflecting the human heart, while the Ji family’s artifact bore a striking resemblance to a gate of hell! This gate of hell, fashioned as a bronze memorial arch, exuded an aura so potent that one felt their very soul being drawn into it upon the slightest glance. A realization began to dawn on Zhou Shu: the legend Mu Zhixing had spoken of might hold a kernel of truth. It was possible that the collection of the Zhu Rong Nine Families' nine divine artifacts was not intended to summon the Netherworld, but rather, that these very artifacts *constituted* the Netherworld itself!
