King of Creation Chapter 2212 - 2197: Fire Swallow Army

May 11th, heavy rain.

The Second Crown Prince of the Demon Emperor, Zhui Ri, has already reached the perimeter of the entire Blood River Fortress defense zone. It is expected that in three to five days, he will launch an attack.

At this moment, within the Commander Hall of Blood River Fortress, the final arrangements and supplements are still being made.

Although the combat plans and various contingency strategies were already fully prepared ten days ago.

However, as the spearhead of the Second Crown Prince Zhui Ri draws near, the Heavenly Patrol Divine Generals and Heavenly Patrol Divine Hunters under Ye Zhen’s command have been dispatched intensively. With an even deeper understanding of the Second Crown Prince Zhui Ri’s troop configuration, some plans have undergone corresponding changes.

"Report!"

A sharp and piercing urgent report echoed from outside the door as a Heavenly Patrol Divine Hunter, who had just traversed from the void, rushed inside disregarding the exhaustion after a prolonged secret technique exertion.

Ye Zhen, inside the Commander Hall, quickly rose to his feet, "Is the army under the Second Crown Prince Zhui Ri of the Demon Emperor on the move?"

"Reporting to the Grand Marshal, no." This Heavenly Patrol Divine Hunter replied with determination, "Grand Marshal, a fleet of unidentified spirit boats has been discovered eight thousand miles behind the Blood River Fortress, consisting of thirty-five boats in total, including one Commander Level Spirit Boat, while the rest are General Level Spirit Boats.

The estimated troop number is about one hundred thousand, carrying the Great Zhou’s flag, but their purpose is unknown, their origin is unknown, please, Grand Marshal, make a decision!" reported the Heavenly Patrol Divine Hunter.

"A Great Zhou’s troop? Did you inquire about their origin?" Ye Zhen asked once more.

"Reporting to the Grand Marshal, we sent five Jade Scroll inquiries, but there was no response from the opposing army!"

"Are there others tracking their position?" Ye Zhen inquired.

"Reporting to the Grand Marshal, at present, there are still five colleagues continuously tracking and reporting their position!"

"Good, very good!"

A green aura appeared on Ye Zhen’s face as he slowly nodded, "I understand, you may retire to receive your reward and then get some rest."

"Thank you, Grand Marshal!"

The Heavenly Patrol Divine Hunter, acting as a scout, slowly withdrew, while Ye Zhen’s face instantly turned grim, "Liu Feng!"

"Present!"

"Order the First, Third, and Seventh Armies, the War Wolf Camp, and ten thousand troops from the Demon Slave Camp to set off within half a quarter-hour to intercept this fleet.

Upon arrival, question them following the protocol. If there’s no response, immediately treat them as enemy forces and attack with full force!

Also, order the First Hunter Team led by the Heavenly Patrol Divine General to go on the expedition. If a battle ensues, the First Hunter Team can autonomously initiate sniping." Ye Zhen’s tone was filled with killing intent, causing Liu Feng’s expression to condense.

"Grand Marshal, they are flying the Great Zhou flag, they might be allies, shouldn’t we...."

"No need! At a time of war, entering our army’s rear without responding warrants a thunderous strike to clear all threats! Even if they are indeed allies, to kill them all, and even if the entire code of Military Law of Great Zhou is brought forth, no one would dare utter a word against us."

Ye Zhen’s words seethed with anger; at such a critical time, there are those daring to stir up trouble, how could Ye Zhen not be furious?

"Yes, I accept the order!"

Liu Feng accepted the order and left, Ye Zhen watched Liu Feng’s departing figure with a slight sense of regret.

Liu Feng, with military strategies, resourcefulness, and depth, is the undisputed choice for leading an army. However, being born of nobility and merely a disregarded bastard, raised by a woman’s hand, he had a slightly softer temperament, lacking a certain hardened resolve.

He is adequate for commanding troops centrally, but as an army marshal, he lacks, requiring proper training.

Four thousand miles behind Blood River Fortress, thirty-five spirit boats waving the Great Zhou’s flag are advancing swiftly, suddenly blocked by twenty-one Commander Level Spirit Boats. One Spirit Light after another exploded in the sky, forming a string of words asking for identification.

The thirty-five spirit boats on the opposite side abruptly slowed down, and within the leading main ship, a middle-aged general with a stern visage suddenly widened his eyes.

"All Commander Level Spirit Boats? How could a local unit like the Heavenly Wave Army of North Sea be equipped with such a luxurious fleet?

We, the Fire Swallow Army, as the Grand Governor’s direct force, known for mobility, are only fully equipped with General Level Spirit Boats."

"Marshal Huaa, Marshal Ye Zhen of the Heavenly Wave Army of North Sea has good management skills, and with secret support from above, it’s no surprise they have such equipment.

However, Marshal Huaa should still fly the flag openly to prevent misunderstandings!" The accompanying military counselor, Fang Su, dressed as a scholar, hurriedly advised.

The Fire Swallow Army Marshal Huaa Yong, on the other hand, sneered, "I’ve heard the Governor say that Ye Zhen is overbearing, but I don’t believe it today; does he dare order an attack on a troop flying the Great Zhou’s flag?"

"Order, do not respond for now, let’s see what they dare to do!"

"Marshal Huaa, this...." Advisor Fang Su was almost jumping anxious, reminding him that their leader, Chief Counselor Gu Yue, specifically instructed them to be very cautious and restrained on the territory of the Heavenly Wave Army of North Sea.

The Chief Counselor studied Ye Zhen’s past deeds and found that Ye Zhen excels in exploiting situations to his advantage.

As Advisor Fang Su felt his urgency peak, he noticed the expression on Fire Swallow Army Marshal Huaa Yong’s face change significantly, "Sky-Breaking Dragon-Slaying Crossbows, what are they up to?"

Seeming to think of something, Fire Swallow Army Marshal Huaa Yong’s face changed again, "Could they really dare?"

"Marshal, quick, send the flag signal!"

"Entering their territory without replying to their inquiry and not revealing our identity means they have every right to kill us all, aligning perfectly with the Military Law of Great Zhou." Advisor Fang Su was truly anxious.

Seeing the ten Sky-Breaking Dragon-Slaying Crossbows probing out from the Commander Level Heavenly Spirit Boats across, with arrows beginning to string, Huaa Yong’s face became immensely ugly.

There was no helping it, even on purely military equipment, they were utterly suppressed by the opposite side.

Within all military equipment of Great Zhou, only Commander Level Spirit Boats could install and withstand the force fluctuations when Sky-Breaking Execution Crossbow fires.

They only had one Sky-Breaking Execution Crossbow, while the twenty-one Spirit Boats on the opposite side were all Commander Level Spirit Boats.

Not considering ground warfare, merely in the air, they would suffer a significant loss.

"Reveal our identity, show the military order!" The Fire Swallow Army Marshal Huaa Yong commanded with a face ashened.

Advisor Fang Su promptly executed the action at the first opportunity.

However, the light on the crossbow arrows of the Sky-Breaking Dragon-Slaying Crossbows opposite them did not dissipate immediately.

"Order, have them present the original military order, send it over for us to verify their identity, otherwise treat them as unidentified enemy troops and kill on the spot!" Commander of the troops, Zheng Dangshi, was full of killing intent.

The decisive Zheng Dangshi, inclined to Ye Zhen’s character, yet lacking a bit of Liu Feng’s strategic depth.

Thus, Zheng Dangshi is suitable for executing military affairs on the front lines, while Liu Feng is more apt for central command, coordinating from the rear.

Applying the principle of using people’s talents properly is simple in theory, yet immensely challenging in practice.

Zheng Dangshi’s demands instantly enraged the Fire Swallow Army Marshal Huaa Yong, "Our Grand Governor’s Mansion sent forces kindly to aid, and a small officer from a local army dares to treat this Marshal like this?"

"Marshal Huaa, this is wartime, remember the Grand Governor’s orders, the orders reign supreme." Fang Su pleaded anxiously.

At the mention of the Grand Governor’s orders, the Fire Swallow Army Marshal Huaa Yong calmed down immediately.

"Let them verify the original order from the Grand Governor’s Mansion!"

Half a quarter-hour later, Ye Zhen at the Blood River Fortress received an urgent report from Zheng Dangshi.

"The Grand Governor’s Mansion has also sent us an army of one hundred thousand, personally commanded by the Fire Swallow Army Marshal Huaa Yong, to support our forces? Zheng Dangshi seeks instructions on whether to permit them passage."

Upon receiving this news, Ye Zhen’s face took on a peculiar expression.

Since when does Grand Governor Ji Yuan take the initiative to dispatch reinforcements to Ye Zhen?

Ye Zhen had already learned that during the last attack by the army led by the Seventh Crown Prince of the Demon Emperor, Congyun, the Northern War Zone Governor Ni Feng was unable to dispatch reinforcements because three days earlier, his reserves were reassigned to various defense zones under the pretext of orders from the Grand Governor Ji Yuan.

So when the army of the Seventh Crown Prince Congyun attacked in full force, there were no troops left to dispatch.

It was too coincidental, and there couldn’t not be something suspicious going on.

The last time it was a covert move to sabotage Ye Zhen’s Heavenly Wave Army of North Sea.

This time, without pleading for aid, nor signaling distress, the Grand Governor’s Mansion has proactively dispatched reinforcements?

If there’s nothing fishy here, nobody would believe it!
