Ye Zhen seizes the severed fox tails of the Tu Mountain Fox Clan, containing immense energy and the power of Heaven and Earth Laws. He uses the Mirage Dragon Pearl to slow time around the tails, maximizing absorption for Little Demon. Meanwhile, Purple Spirit successfully integrates vast amounts of All Living Beings' Will Power into the Purple Spirit Immortal Sword, significantly upgrading its quality and power, before falling into a deep sleep. Ye Zhen then departs the Taimeng Demon Realm for the Demon Soul Realm to avoid pursuit and verify key issues.

Among the Fox Clan, there is a surname famed throughout the All Heavens and Myriads of Worlds, and that is Tu Mountain.

For example, the only Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox of the Fox Clan who fell a hundred thousand years ago, Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox Tu Shanyun, bore the surname Tu Mountain, with the personal name Yun.

Within the Fox Clan, only those who grow nine tails are qualified to bear the two characters Tu Mountain as their surname.

As for the descendants of the Tushan Clan, even if they are of direct Bloodline, if they do not possess nine tails, they can only use Tu, and cannot use Tu Mountain as their surname.

Tu Mountain is the most exalted surname among the Fox Clan, bar none.

The reason it is so precious is because of a heaven-defying Divine Skill possessed by the Tushan Fox Clan—Fox Tail Substitutes Life, one tail for one life.

At critical moments, the fox tails can serve like the finest substitute puppets, capable of blocking fatal calamities.

Once one cultivates nine tails, one can be called a Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox, and the tails of a Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox can not only block disasters and tribulations for themselves, but can also save others, even shield an entire clan from calamity.

Most importantly, nine is the ultimate number; once one’s Cultivation reaches nine tails, then even after cutting off tails to extend life or to block calamity, as long as one tail remains, after a long period of arduous cultivation, the nine tails can be regenerated.

In other words, someone like Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox Tu Shanyun of those years—unless you could kill her nine times in a short span—so long as the nine tails remained, it was equivalent to an undying body.

The Great Clan Leader of the Qingqiu Fox Clan, Tu Zheng, for instance, possessed an impure Bloodline and only seven tails, so he could only bear the surname Tu, yet he still possessed this Innate Divine Ability of one tail for one life.

However, the greatest difference between the Tushan Clan and those of the Tu surname lies in that the Tushan Clan’s life-extending fox tails can regenerate after being severed.

Whereas once those of the Tu surname have their life-extending fox tails severed, they can never regenerate.

No matter what height their Cultivation reaches, once the fox tails are cut off, they can never grow back.

In other words, today Ye Zhen severed two life-extending fox tails of the Great Clan Leader of the Qingqiu Fox Clan, Tu Zheng, which is tantamount to cutting off that slender possibility of Tu Zheng becoming a Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox.

Even though before this, Tu Zheng’s chance of becoming a Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox was extremely slim, there had always been that trace of hope.

But now, it had been completely severed by Ye Zhen.

After cutting off two life-extending fox tails in succession and escaping from that immense terror of impending death, Tu Zheng’s entire body instantly felt as though he had fallen into an ice cellar.

An indescribable chill surged from the soles of his feet straight to his head, in an instant flooding his entire body.

Even with his level of Cultivation, long immune to cold and heat, that chill still made him involuntarily shudder.

Even though his seven tails were mottled-color seven tails, as the saying goes, Heaven never completely seals off a path; the Heavenly Dao will always leave a sliver of possibility where there seems to be none.

Thus, Tu Zheng knew very well that although his hope of becoming a Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox was incomparably slim, as long as he persisted, he might yet find that sliver of possibility to become a Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox.

For this, Tu Zheng had searched and struggled for tens of thousands of years.

Yet in that instant, this sliver of possibility was completely cut off by Ye Zhen.

An inexpressible fury surged up abruptly, making Tu Zheng’s expression turn even more hideous than a vicious ghost’s.

"Ye Zhen!"

Tu Zheng clenched his fists so tightly they crackled like beans popping; from his look, he wished he could tear Ye Zhen apart on the spot.

Then, Tu Zheng’s gaze shifted, his chest heaving violently; amidst that violent rise and fall, the ferocious expression on Tu Zheng’s face gradually faded.

After a few breaths, his former calmness and wisdom once more surfaced on Tu Zheng’s cheeks, only that within his eyes there was now an additional, indescribable fury.

"For a Killing Move of such terrifying power, he must have drawn upon an extremely vast amount of All Living Beings’ Will Power; otherwise, it would be absolutely impossible! Even a true Creation God could not force this old man to sever two life-extending fox tails in succession just to preserve his life."

"In other words, such a terrifying Killing Move is something that this Ye Zhen can basically only use once. In that case, what if this old man now doubles back for a surprise attack?"

The next instant, Tu Zheng, whose aura had diminished by nearly thirty percent, suddenly wheeled around and shot back like lightning in the direction from which he had fled.

Fifteen minutes later, Tu Zheng appeared at the place where he and Ye Zhen had fought earlier—a region a thousand li around that had been leveled into the Chaotic Void.

Tu Zheng’s Divine Sense poured out in all directions like spilled mercury, attempting to find the slightest clue, but a moment later, the disappointed expression on Tu Zheng’s face showed that he had found nothing.

"Seems I’ll have to use this little fellow!" Tu Zheng’s expression showed a bit of heartache.

The next instant, a spider the size of a human face, its whole body crystal-clear like red jade, appeared out of thin air before Tu Zheng.

This Red Jade Spider seemed to be asleep at the moment, but as Tu Zheng spat out a mouthful of golden Origin Essence Blood, the Red Jade Spider immediately opened its blood-red eyes.

It lightly opened its mouth and took a single breath, sucking Tu Zheng’s mouthful of Origin Essence Blood completely clean.

In a flash, the entire body of the Red Jade Spider turned an eerie blood-red; even more shocking was that the back of this now blood-red Red Jade Spider squirmed, actually manifesting the likeness of Hu Qingtong.

If Ye Zhen were here, he would definitely be startled by the bizarre scene before his eyes.

Tu Zheng merely stared at this blood-jade spider bearing Hu Qingtong’s visage with eyes gleaming with Blood Light, his hands continuously forming strange Hand Seals.

As the Hand Seals changed, the human face on the Red Jade Spider’s back grew ever clearer; even the eyebrow lines of Hu Qingtong could be seen distinctly.

However, the Red Jade Spider made no move at all, merely lifting its head and looking around in confusion.

Clearly, this result left Tu Zheng extremely dissatisfied.

The next instant, Tu Zheng spat out another mouthful of golden Origin Essence Blood; after the Red Jade Spider devoured it, the Blood Light enveloping its entire body grew even more demonic.

Yet the raised head of the Red Jade Spider still showed no reaction, causing Tu Zheng’s expression to turn grim; the seals formed between his fingers shifted even faster, faintly carrying a trace of a shrill, mournful aura.

Driven by the Hand Seals, the Red Jade Spider, perhaps forced to the limit, suddenly let out a piercing screech; amidst the shrill cry, a streak of Blood Light shot out from the Red Jade Spider’s head and flew into the space between Tu Zheng’s brows.

Having obtained the result, Tu Zheng’s Hand Seals abruptly stopped; he then activated a Secret Technique to sense the meaning contained within that streak of Blood Light, but in the next instant, Tu Zheng’s expression changed once more.

"Already no longer in the Taimeng Demon Realm? Went to another space?"

"To directly tear open the Spatial Wall and enter the Chaotic Void—impossible. Even those like me, at the Half-step Creation Realm, generally wouldn’t dare to do that."

"So, this Ye Zhen, just like before, has once again hidden himself within that self-contained Little World of his?"

"It seems this old man’s previous judgment was correct. That incomparably terrifying Killing Move he used earlier should be something he can only perform once!"

Muttering, Tu Zheng fell into contemplation, his old face gradually becoming covered with an icy, ferocious killing intent.

"Hiding in a self-contained Little World that you can carry with you?"

"Hmph, this old man refuses to believe you can hide for a lifetime."

"Patience—this old man has plenty!"

"This old man wants to see just how long you can hide!"
