Killed Me? Now I Have Your Power Chapter 433: Deal? Deal.
Previously on Killed Me? Now I Have Your Power...
Gradually, Kaden and Rea parted from their intense, blood-tinged kiss, their breaths heaving heavily while the metallic tang of blood hung so densely in the air it was as if they were submerged in a crimson stream.
Their gazes intertwined deeply, breaths falling into an uncanny rhythm. Rea's blood-smeared hands glided gently over his features, her fingertips brushing against his lips with deliberate tenderness.
She nibbled on her bottom lip, inching closer to his right ear, the rings woven into her hair jingling softly, and murmured:
"I will kill for you." Her tone dripped with raw desire and unhinged fervor. "I want you to kill for me."
"You want me to love you in the way you longed to be loved." Kaden responded. "Even if it demands spilling blood?"
"Especially when blood gets spilled," Rea shot back without hesitation. "Enter my domain with me, and I'll step into yours."
For a brief moment, Kaden went quiet, his stare probing the depths of Rea's ruby-black eyes for some hidden truth.
Upon discovering it, a grin spread across his face, his voice echoing her intensity. "As you desire."
Their eyes remained fixed on one another as they bared bloodstained smiles, teeth marked by each other's essence.
Soon after, the pair of fiancées settled into a soothing quiet. Regardless of their vast reserves of strength, the recent ordeal had sapped their vitality.
The clash against the Forbidden Alchemist, Einar's demise, their odd ritualistic exchange about their evolving bond, and Kaden's own brush with death... everything combined to leave the two fiancées collapsed on the floor.
Rea rested atop Kaden, her eyelids drifting shut in gentle slumber.
Challenges lay ahead. The goddess appeared increasingly intent on twisting her thoughts these days, promising a restless night.
She welcomed it anyway. It was familiar territory, far preferable to emptiness.
Yet, to the God-Touched's astonishment, her fears proved unfounded. Slumber came serene and undisturbed, bathed in a radiant crimson-gold light from a sun that warded off the shrieking, furious goddess.
Rea required no prophetic gifts to sense the source of this miracle. It filled her with greater joy and solidified her resolve.
At last, since her awakening, Rea Thornspire enjoyed a night of true tranquility.
...
A pressure weighed heavily on Kaden's chest. He emitted a low groan, his eyes fluttering open.
His initial view was hazy, forcing several blinks until Rea's face came into sharp focus, mere inches away.
"Time to finish off this dungeon, lazy Kaden." She declared, patting his right cheek multiple times like he was still dozing. "Get up already."
"I'm awake now." He grumbled, propping himself upright, which sent Rea stumbling to stand.
Her once-white garments were thoroughly stained with blood, dark streaks from her tears marring her cheeks. Still, the young woman showed no concern for her disheveled state.
In truth,
"What do you think of my look?" She inquired, flashing a bold smile. "I reckon it fits me perfectly."
"You're utterly mad if you believe that." Kaden rolled his eyes. "Haven't you got extra clothes?"
"Judging my style again, are you?" Rea squinted, clearly annoyed.
Kaden merely shrugged in response.
He approached the heart sprawled on the ground and knelt to examine it closely. As he seized it—its weight substantial and surface slick like oil—Kaden oddly sensed vitality pulsing within.
Peering more intently, he spotted runes—barely perceptible without scrutiny—writhing across its surface.
"Got any ideas for this heart?" Rea questioned, dropping to a crouch next to him. "If not, hand it over."
Kaden cast her a quick sideways look. "Why?"
"I crave deeper insights into the Alchemist. He dubbed himself Forbidden, so surely his heart hides secrets worth uncovering."
"And his brain too." Kaden pointed out.
Rea agreed with a nod. "Moreover," her smile turned peculiar, "I've always figured a second heart wouldn't hurt. It'd let me love you even more fiercely." She met his gaze. "Two hearts beating just for you."
"Spare me those thoughts." Kaden stifled a chuckle. "Aren't I the one who could use an extra heart? Damn it, I'd need one for each of you."
Rea froze suddenly at his words, her eyes flaring wide with sudden insight.
Their stares locked, and gradually, their mouths curved into broad, fanged grins brimming with wild excitement.
"You know, Kaden," Rea breathed. "Keep that heart. If you like, I'll hunt down more for you. Mind if I snag one from that worthless Rudolph? At least the fool could serve a purpose."
"You aiming to botch this quest?" Kaden shook his head. "Rudolph's heart might be intriguing, sure, but let's skip it. We'll hunt alternatives."
Rea dismissed it with a casual shrug. "Only trying to aid those other women. Remember to credit me when you share the heart—it'll help you cherish them."
"You can say it to them directly."
"May sorrow consume me, but I'd probably want to slaughter them on sight."
"Wasn't it just a test?"
"Precisely," Rea confirmed with a nod. "That's how I conduct my tests."
Kaden chose silence on the matter. His thoughts turned to the potential fallout of acquiring a second heart, particularly from the Forbidden Alchemist.
But such worries were pointless. His Synthesis Trait allowed seamless integration of any element without repercussions.
'It's decided, then.' He mused, raising his gaze to the Alchemist's remains.
Suddenly, a bizarre, gruesome notion surged in his mind. His lips quirked, considering it fleetingly before instinctively glancing at Rea.
Sensing his attention, she turned to him, arching a brow curiously.
"You're staring too intensely." She remarked.
"The brain," Kaden stated, brushing off her comment. "Do you want it?"
Rea halted visibly, eyeing Kaden with disbelief.
"What kind of person do you think I am?" She demanded, indignant.
"A madwoman." He replied, then amended after a beat. "My madwoman."
Rea inclined her head, satisfied. "Finally, something from you that I like."
"With remarks like that, it might be the last." He snorted. Rea swore at him, but he pressed on. "So, will you claim it? You could use the brain far more than I."
"Just as your cursed heart struggles under your endless ambition." She mocked. "Aren't you embarrassed?"
"Not at all."
Rea tsked her tongue. "Fine, I'll claim it." She conceded, her eyes gleaming as she regarded the body.
"I'll take the brain. You get the heart, Kaden. Deal?"
"Deal."
...
In the meantime, within an otherworldly space of writhing, alive runes that twisted and spun endlessly, the Forbidden Alchemist's eyes snapped open, a fragment of his awareness flooding back.
His features furrowed faintly in bewilderment as he detected a curse clinging to him. Quicker than a fleeting idea, he dissolved it using his runes.
A smile formed, followed by a hollow laugh.
"This is troubling indeed." The Forbidden murmured, absorbing the details of his confrontation with Kaden and Rea.
"Something amiss?" A woman's voice resounded across the domain, alluring as perfume yet chilling as frost.
"Indeed." The Forbidden laughed again. "I've just grasped it, my dear—the gods still underestimate Prometheus."
"What mischief has the boy stirred now?"
"He's on the verge of rewriting a key moment in my past." His tone grew icy. "A truly pivotal one."
The voice lingered for a few beats before replying. "So, what course will you take?" She inquired. "Many gods dismissed his last timeline shift as mere chance. Imagine if he pulls it off in every dungeon and encounter he faces."
"Biona's foul core!" The Alchemist spat. "That would herald the wretched Hero's return." He drew a ragged breath. "Meaning an era of turmoil, slaughter, and divine wars—among gods and against mortals. History would cycle back, and Biona alone knows the horrors that would unleash."
He halted, then exhaled in exhaustion. "We ought to have foreseen it. No—we did, the instant a Godkiller emerged."
"That woman..." The voice trembled. "Word is she struck down yet another." It quivered. "What monstrous Path did she spawn?"
"If only I knew," The Forbidden admitted. "But the truly alarming twist is the bond between the Godkiller and Prometheus."
"What?" The voice burst in alarm. "They know one another? How?"
The Forbidden shut his eyes.
"Curses, yes. They do."
"After all, the Godkiller is Prometheus's grandmother."
