Princess Si Li appears before Baili An, criticizing his failed cultivation and reminding him of her sacrifice in giving him her Corpse Pearl. She explains that their father, the Corpse King, is regenerating and needs his heart, which is sealed in Kunlun. Si Li tasks Baili An with infiltrating Kunlun to retrieve their father's heart.

The Corpse King Jiang Chen whom Baili An encountered in the Demon World’s subterranean palace back then was not in his entirety!

His heart was actually still sealed within the Kunlun Divine Mountain?!

Upon hearing this revelation, Baili An’s heart was swamped by a tidal wave of shock.

He then looked up at Si Li, stating: "That individual was once one of the Six Realms' Five Venerables, the Kunlun God herself, a deity originating from the Creation Era. Her divine standing is second only to Emperor Zhu Zhan, an existence of supreme reverence beneath the heavens. But I have only just passed my tribulations; a mere glance from her could extinguish my Dao and send me into reincarnation. On what grounds could my sister possibly believe I am capable of killing her?"

Si Li's gaze lowered, replying: "Do not mistake me for a fool. You are privy to the Kunlun God’s Clean Word Technique; this Divine Communication Skill is not readily shared. Since that woman imparted it to you, it is only natural she harbored intentions of accepting you as her disciple."

"Granted, the chasm between your current cultivation levels and hers is vast, spanning beyond the heavens and earth across all three thousand worlds. I am not demanding you strike her at this moment. Father has maintained the Emperor’s subjugation with divine might for hundreds of thousands of years; such prolonged effort would hardly be for fleeting gains."

"The Kunlun God’s cultivation has attained a state of perfection, a miracle akin to the divine. Yet, in this world, all things experience cycles of waxing and waning. She has already reached the apex of her realm, standing on a precipice where further advancement is exceedingly difficult. However, you possess boundless potential; whether it takes a millennium or ten millennia, Father can afford to wait."

"More crucially, many years ago, Kunlun Mountain faced a monumental catastrophe, nearly crumbling, resulting in the demise of millions. It was this very woman who refined her divine origin into the Kunlun Pure Ruins, forming the very bedrock of countless mountain earth veins, thereby averting the disaster. The marriage alliance between the Kunlun God and the Water God Emperor Chenghuang was a direct consequence of this calamity. The Kunlun God’s divinity is rooted in wood and earth; water nourishes all creation, fostering wood spirits, and sustaining mountains and rivers."

At this point, Si Li’s eyes held a deeper disdain.

She gently raised her hand, and the fiery red Treasure Bead once concealed beneath Baili An’s collar began to float upwards, emitting a brilliant glow.

"Even though she wed Emperor Chenghuang, and their Dual Cultivation together produced the Divine Heir Xiao Shanjun, it was merely to address an immediate crisis. From what I understand, the divine couple were largely estranged, as Emperor Chenghuang possessed a licentious nature, indulging his affections widely. Furthermore, he lost his own Water Divine Origin eons ago. It has now resurfaced, splitting into two, and through the machinations of that Enchanting Demon, it has fallen into your possession."

It was only after absorbing these tales and profound secrets of the ancient primordial gods that Baili An began to truly understand.

The Water Divine Origin was not only vital to Emperor Chenghuang but also held immense importance for the Kunlun God, Cang Nanyi.

Water has its cycles, eventually drying up, and the vast blue seas can transform into fields of mulberry. All existence, including deities, cannot escape the fundamental principle of 'continuous perpetuation' in their cultivated Dao.

While Emperor Chenghuang, despite losing the Water Divine Origin, could still draw upon the spiritual essence of Kunlun Divine Mountain to stabilize his divine form.

The Kunlun God Cang Nanyi, however, found herself constantly expending her own divine power, day and night. Only a deity as potent as she, from the Creation Era, could sustain the immortality of millions of souls through millennia of depletion, ensuring the verdant mountains remain unwithering and the rivers never run dry.

Yet, time is an inescapable force; regardless of her immense power, she too would eventually face a fate of exhaustion and death.

Baili An could not help but contemplate that Si Li’s proposition, while appearing audacious at first glance, was not entirely without merit.

Gods and demons had been adversaries since time immemorial, yet Jiang Chen had granted him a second life, truly being his father from his days as a Corpse Demon. Regardless of the circumstances, he could not simply turn a blind eye. If acquiring Jiang Chen’s heart could grant him freedom, Baili An was prepared to forfeit his own life to fulfill this long-held desire.

But then there was the Kunlun God Cang Nanyi...

Although Baili An lacked deep personal ties with her, she, as a divine being, had afforded him a measure of protection when faced with the Emperor’s command to exterminate corpse demons. This act of kindness could not be overlooked.

Furthermore, she had disregarded his identity to impart the secret techniques of the Kunlun Divine Race, intending to accept him as a disciple and guide him onto the Divine Path – this was an undeniable display of goodwill.

To slay her to obtain Jiang Chen’s heart was an act Baili An found himself unable to commit, his conscience forbidding such cruelty.

"I am willing to exert every effort to retrieve Father’s heart and secure his freedom," Baili An declared, "but as for the task of eliminating the Kunlun Divine Lord, I must implore you, sister, I am powerless to fulfill such a request."

Si Li let out a cold laugh, neither showing evident displeasure nor frustration at Baili An’s act of defiance.

She simply patted Baili An’s head, akin to how one might playfully tease a disobedient canine.

"Only someone at your age would harbor such unattainable dreams regarding the world's affairs.

You consistently believe that the distinction between right and wrong resides solely within your own judgment.

It is only when you are truly confronted with a choice that you will comprehend how paltry and mockingly unsophisticated your current resolve appears against the brutal starkness of reality."

Si Li made no effort to alter Baili An’s present mindset, nor did she entertain any inclination to coerce him.

The blood-red moon situated behind them began to recede, morphing into a slender sliver of ethereal blue light, effectively purging the crimson hue from Baili An’s eyes.

The hand that had rested upon his head abruptly lifted and receded.

His sight was restored, and before him, it was the height of noon, with the sun blazing high in the celestial expanse. Nearby, a small fairy playfully twitched its twin tails.

Shu Ci observed Baili An silently, seemingly oblivious to any unusual occurrences.

Though, it appeared as though he had perceived a subtle anomaly moments prior, but chose to keep it concealed, refraining from further remarks.

Amidst the vibrant bloom of March, Shifang City, which majestically presides over the Northern and Southern Seas, paradoxically endures an unending deluge of heavy snow.

The ferocious northern gales sweep in from every direction, bearing with them thick, swirling snowflakes. These frigid, crystalline flakes are reminiscent of coarse sand grains, hurled unceasingly from the colossal hand of a celestial deity in the distant northern heavens.
