Spring has arrived in Big Tree Village, and the villagers are getting back to work. The Angels, attempting to keep a kotatsu through winter's end, barricaded themselves in the mansion but were ultimately defeated. Zabuton and the spiderlings awoke from hibernation, eager for potatoes and new lace fabrics. Pond Turtles are actively eating cabbage, and the main character continues plowing fields with the AFT. Meanwhile, some animals are being moved for breeding, and the kuros hunt while baby goats nap nearby.

Angel Tier.

Her usual role involves assisting me, the village chief, but her specific duty during early spring centers on civil engineering projects utilizing golems.

These tasks include excavating fields and clearing away stubborn tree roots.

However, with the advent of our AFT in Big Tree Village, Tier has recently been frequently assigned to Village Two and Three.

But this year, we now possess the Multipurpose Humanoid Mobile Heavy Machine, dubbed 'Arti-Horse'.

This development has effectively taken over Tier’s former responsibilities.

Consequently, Tier has been redirected to Village Five, where she is currently engaged in golem-based work.

Reports indicate she is performing her tasks with utmost seriousness, and her reputation there is quite favorable.

Oh, phrasing it that way might sound a bit dismissive, as if her competence is a surprise.

While Tier occasionally voices her complaints, she consistently carries out her duties with diligence.

The same level of commitment applies to Gran Maria and the other Angels.

When did my perception of the Angels begin to shift towards the unusual…

Was it Kierbit’s influence?

No, Kierbit remains serious and rational, provided Tier isn't directly involved.

The Suaru sisters are also quite focused and rarely indulge in frivolity.

Then, that leaves the others…

Malbit, Ruincia, Raz Maria, Suarurou, and Reginleif?

Or perhaps the standard Angels who accompanied them?

It is probably best not to ponder this too deeply.

Vampire Loo.

Her responsibilities remain unchanged, even as early spring arrives.

She continues to manage the medicinal herb fields and engage in the creation of medicines.

While medicine-making is partly a personal pastime for Loo, it also yields tangible benefits.

Through the established connections of Youko and Mio, there are incoming personal requests from Village Five and Shashaato City.

These are the types of requests that Youko and Mio find difficult to decline outright.

Put simply, these requests originate from influential figures or individuals whose cooperation might be strategically important for us.

As a direct result, Loo’s meticulously crafted medicines generate revenue for both Village Five and Shashaato City.

Initially, I assumed the medicines were intended for individuals suffering from various ailments, but…

Given that the majority of requests were for items such as remedies for athlete's foot, stamina-boosting concoctions, and treatments for hair growth, I decided it was best to remain silent on the matter.

Beyond individual requests, there are also solicitations from Village Five and Shashaato City for medicinal preparations like treatments for infectious diseases, remedies for venereal ailments, solutions for skin conditions, wound antiseptics, and medications for treating bruises.

For these specific demands, only a modest quantity of the actual medicine is provided.

More often than not, Loo imparts the manufacturing methodology instead.

This approach is adopted because these particular medicines are required in substantial volumes.

The large-scale production of these medicinal compounds is subsequently entrusted to the skilled personnel in Village Five and Shashaato City who possess expertise in handling medicinal herbs.

This arrangement ensures that the necessary quantities are adequately secured.

However, it is worth noting that very few medicinal substances or their constituent ingredients possess the ability to be stored for extended durations.

The vast majority of medicines have a limited shelf life.

Therefore, to facilitate the creation of the required amounts whenever the need arises, the medicinal herb fields within Village Five are meticulously safeguarded and maintained.

Vampire Flora.

Having dedicated her winter months to the preparation of fermented foods, she naturally enters a period of relative ease during early spring.

Nevertheless, she continues her research endeavors in some capacity, meaning she is not entirely idle.

It is more akin to a relaxed, research-oriented phase.

Even when she ventures out, her destinations are typically related to fermented food production within Village Five.

Occasionally, I feel she might benefit from additional rest, but…

She actively participates in village events, and her own statements suggest she derives enjoyment from her current pursuits, so perhaps my concerns are unwarranted.

The only potential issue to mention would be if the distinctive aroma she produces causes inconvenience to those in her vicinity.

It appears she has been receiving correspondence from Alfred, though she has not shared the contents with me.

This leaves me feeling a pang of wistfulness.

The High Elves.

Their primary activity typically involves hunting expeditions in the forest.

Within the village context, their contributions are predominantly focused on carpentry tasks.

As early spring commences, they become actively involved in assessing any structural damage that the winter’s cold and snow might have inflicted upon buildings.

Simultaneously, they undertake the removal of protective winter measures applied to the structures.

Alongside these duties, they are also engaged in preparations for the upcoming spring parade.

Personally, I sometimes contemplate whether a spring parade held biennially might suffice, but given the limited entertainment options available here, deciding to allow the villagers communal enjoyment and relaxation during the parade is likely not a detrimental choice.

Hmm?

We have the summer swimming pool, the autumn martial arts tournament, and winter activities such as skiing and sledding.

Furthermore, year-round diversions include bowling, chess, shogi, and the recently introduced sport of basketball.

So, it appears there *are* various forms of entertainment available?

That is a valid point, however…

The villagers, as a general rule, are perpetually engaged in work.

The only groups visibly taking respite are the administrative staff following the completion of autumn's bureaucratic tasks, and, of course, the Angels.

Everyone else seems to constantly seek out activities, even during the winter months.

That being said, their endeavors are not merely aimless work.

They are also diligently focused on enhancing operational efficiency.

Consider, for instance, the High Elves…

During the spring parade, their typical involvement includes the construction of large, wheeled towers or elevated platforms.

However, they now pre-fabricate the necessary components during the winter season, allowing for swift assembly once spring arrives, thereby conserving valuable time.

Consequently, when I observe, “Oh, they are constructing the towers,” before I even fully register the start of the process, several have already reached completion, a feat that consistently evokes my surprise.

Beastkin

Senna and her group of beastgirls are primarily occupied with the care of livestock, including horses and cows. Their duties span the entire year, encompassing tasks such as assisting with births, nurturing the young, milking, and managing breeding.

As early spring arrives, a significant portion of their work involves tending to newborn animals.

The adult livestock have grown accustomed to the beastgirls’ presence, allowing them to approach their offspring without any distress.

It’s even been observed that the animals sometimes present their babies to the beastgirls.

Meanwhile, the beastboys, including Gol and others, are thriving in the royal capital.

Occasionally, they visit Shashaato City for work-related matters and entrust letters for the village to Mio.

The beastkin blacksmiths find their busiest period during the winter months.

From spring through summer, their main tasks shift to more relaxed activities like gathering and processing materials.

Naturally, any urgent smithing requests take precedence over these other duties.

The blacksmiths who originated from Howling Village have since returned there via the universal ship, despite exhibiting a strong reluctance to leave.

It is anticipated that they will visit again before the onset of winter this year.

-0-

Lizardmen.

Their primary function within the village is related to heavy labor.

They provide assistance to the High Elves, Mountain Elves, and Beastkins across various tasks.

Having originally served under the Angels, they continue to support activities associated with them.

A unique responsibility held by the Lizardmen is the cultivation of lobsters.

Approximately half of the lobsters consumed in the village are raised by them.

In early spring, their work primarily involves collecting and organizing materials salvaged from the winter protective coverings on the buildings.

To avoid waste, these materials are meticulously stored for reuse during the following winter.

-0-

Dwarves.

As is their custom, they continue to produce alcohol.

The changing of the seasons does not seem to impact their fundamental activities.

The only variation noted is in the types of snacks they consume with their beverages.

-0-

The civil servant girls.

Having completed the crop production calculations in winter and submitted their reports, they have now shifted their focus to preparing for the spring parade.

While the High Elves manage the large-scale aspects of the preparations, the Mountain Elves handle the finer details.

Consequently, the civil servant girls concentrate on planning the performances and determining the parade’s sequence.

They also maintain active communication with their counterparts in Village Five.

When residing in the village, there's a tendency to rely heavily on Village Five for any information pertaining to the Demon King's Kingdom.

Additionally, some members of the civil servant team are currently stationed in Village Two and Three.

They are accompanying Yuri, who is operating the Multipurpose Humanoid Mobile Heavy Machine.

Their presence is not primarily for security.

The decision was made because sending Yuri alone to Villages Two and Three was deemed inadvisable.

After all, she is the daughter of the Demon King.

Any incident involving her could lead to significant complications.

For protective reasons, the Lizardmen have been assigned to escort her.

Although Villages Two and Three do not typically present a high threat level requiring extensive guards, caution is still advised.

It is important not to let one's guard down while traveling.

A contingent of kuros is also accompanying the group.

-0-

Mountain Elves.

During springtime, the Mountain Elves' initial task is to deploy newly designed traps around the village as a defense against demon beasts and monsters.

Following this, they notify the kuros and spiderlings of the trap locations.

Accidental entrapment by these creatures could pose a serious risk.

Their next focus is the preparation for the spring parade.

While the majority engage in standard preparations, some individuals are concurrently developing novel features and enhancements.

It appears they perceive the spring parade as some form of exhibition event.

Observing the civil servant girls’ efforts to rectify this misconception offers a clear indication that spring has indeed arrived.

-0-

Dragons.

……

Hakuren, Rasuti, and Guronde are currently serving as instructors, aiding in the education of the village children.

As for the rest of the dragons, it seems winter continues to hold sway over their activities.

They remain in a relaxed, winter-inclined state until their inclination changes.

Doraim, on the other hand, is occupied with cultivating radishes.

Raimeiren occasionally takes Hiichirou and Guraru on flights during the spring, offering them an experience beyond simple excursions.

-0-

Oni maids.

Given that their primary responsibilities encompass cooking, laundry, and maintaining the cleanliness of the mansion, their daily routines experience minimal alteration with the arrival of spring.

Nevertheless, witnessing them joyfully handling the laundry accumulated over winter or participating in communal clothes-drying alongside the spiderlings effectively conveys the essence of spring.

Ah, indeed.

The appearance of dishes prepared with preserved foods, stored throughout the winter, on the dining table also contributes to the spring ambiance.

It is essential to consume these preserved items before they spoil.
