Invincible Little School Doctor Chapter 2006: That Was a Bit Too Easy
Previously on Invincible Little School Doctor...
The enormous man, with considerable cheer, prepared the tiger meat and shared it with Ye Haochuan until nothing remained. Through this shared meal, Ye Haochuan gained a true understanding of an immense appetite, as the giant man consumed over ten pounds of tiger meat in mere moments, yet still appeared to crave more.
After a night of activity, the hour grew late, and the giant man, having eaten his fill, succumbed to sleep while Ye Haochuan quietly departed the room.
Uncertain of the giant man’s reaction to his taking items from the premises, Ye Haochuan opted for discretion.
By this juncture, the entire village had retreated to slumber, plunging the surroundings into a profound darkness devoid of any discernible light.
However, to Ye Haochuan, this was of no consequence; his extraordinarily sharp eyesight permitted him to navigate the terrain as if it were broad daylight.
Swiftly, Ye Haochuan reached the precise center of the formation.
There stood an ancient well, remarkably deep. The presence of still-damp water-fetching implements indicated its continued use as the village’s primary water source.
With a decisive leap, Ye Haochuan plunged directly into the well.
The well’s interior possessed a unique construction, appearing as if carved from a single, unbroken stone, utterly lacking in any discernible fissures. Numerous intricate patterns adorned the well walls.
Even with Ye Haochuan’s rudimentary understanding of formations, he could readily discern that these markings formed the foundation of the defensive array.
After descending several yards, Ye Haochuan submerged himself into the water.
"Blast, this water is far too frigid!" he exclaimed upon feeling the water's biting cold, unable to suppress his complaint.
The water within the well was even colder than that of freshly melted ice. Had it not been for the protection afforded by his Heart Thunder Armor, he would have likely been instantly frozen by its extreme temperature.
Despite this protection, Ye Haochuan still harbored a degree of apprehension, as the treasure chest he sought lay an astounding several thousand meters below.
He composed himself, took a deep breath, and rapidly descended into the water.
Due to the unique regulations of the Immortal Realm, the Spiritual Energy available did not provide the same replenishing effect as in the Lower Realm. Consequently, he could not swim with the same freedom and had to ascend periodically to avoid suffocation.
A well extending to a depth of several thousand meters was indeed a rarity. Most remarkably, Ye Haochuan observed that this immense well was carved from a single, monolithic stone – a truly astonishing feat of engineering!
"Damn it, it’s growing even colder!"
With increasing depth, the water's chill intensified dramatically. Merely a few hundred meters down, the temperature was already formidable. One could only speculate on the frigid conditions awaiting him thousands of meters below.
It became apparent that acquiring valuable treasures was rarely an easy endeavor!
Ye Haochuan let out an internal sigh and moderated his descent. While this would consume more time, forging ahead recklessly without understanding potential dangers would be profoundly unwise.
Furthermore, a slower descent allowed his body more time to acclimate to the progressively colder environment.
However, upon reaching the thousand-meter mark, the water temperature surrounding him reached his absolute tolerance limit.
Gritting his teeth, Ye Haochuan channeled the Purple Lotus Spirit Flame throughout his being, alongside his Spiritual Energy.
Allowing the flame to courge through his meridians proved to be an intensely painful experience, Ye Haochuan felt as though every internal organ, his meridians, and his vessels were being subjected to intense heat.
Even with the carefully regulated temperature of the Purple Lotus Spirit Flame, it was starkly evident that without such precise control, he would inevitably be incinerated by the flame's power.
Albeit agonizing, the measure proved effective; at the very least, he no longer perceived the sensation of freezing to death.
Bolstered by the Purple Lotus Spirit Flame's infusion, Ye Haochuan’s perilous descent was decisively overcome, granting him the ability to continue his downward journey.
Two thousand meters... three thousand meters...
Before long, Ye Haochuan found himself, quite unexpectedly, before the treasure chest.
A curious sense of unreality washed over him; could it truly be this straightforward? It seemed almost too simple.
Based on conventional narratives, acquiring significant treasures typically involves facing substantial peril. While his preceding challenges presented some obstacles, they scarcely constituted true danger!
"Could there be some hidden, perilous mechanism concealed within this treasure chest?" Ye Haochuan pondered.
Unable to ascertain the contents within the chest's confines, he could not definitively rule out the presence of any concealed mechanisms.
"Regardless of what lies within, let's retrieve it first!" Ye Haochuan resolved, swiftly transferring the treasure chest into his Space Ring before making a rapid ascent.
Shortly thereafter, Ye Haochuan reappeared above the ancient well. After changing into dry attire, he carefully proceeded to open the treasure chest.
To Ye Haochuan’s considerable surprise, the chest contained no intricate mechanisms. Furthermore, its contents were sparse, consisting solely of a single ancient book, approximately three fingers thick.
"Hundred Arrays Collection?"
Upon reading the inscription on the ancient tome, Ye Haochuan experienced a moment of astonishment. He had not anticipated that the treasure concealed beneath the well would be a compendium of formations.
It appeared as though fate was purposefully intervening on his behalf; he had only recently begun contemplating an enhancement of his formation skills, and now destiny had presented him with a comprehensive collection dedicated to formations.
Having recently organized the formation foundations he obtained from the Endless Clouds Secret Realm, Ye Haochuan found himself in need of some solid formations to practice. The acquisition of this Hundred Arrays Collection felt like finding a pillow just as he was about to doze off.
Bathed in the faint moonlight, Ye Haochuan eagerly opened the collection, his eyes swiftly scanning the knowledge within.
Approximately an hour later, he gently closed the book with a sigh, remarking, "These formations are truly excellent, but it's a shame the materials required to craft their foundations are incredibly difficult to acquire!"
To establish formations, one needs corresponding formation foundations and flags. Each formation foundation demands specific crafting materials, as only those compatible with the formation can unlock its full power.
The materials suitable for formation foundations possess unique characteristics, rendering them elusive. Particularly for certain High-Level formations, the necessary components are even rarer; some individuals dedicate their entire lives to gathering them.
"Why fret so much? I shall gather them gradually!" Ye Haochuan declared with a smile and a sigh, storing the Hundred Arrays Collection within his storage ring.
By this point, the first hints of dawn were appearing.
Ye Haochuan made his way back to the giant man's hut, where the sound of thunderous snoring persisted.
Eager to commence their journey, Ye Haochuan roused the giant man, directing him to pack his belongings and prepare for their departure.
The giant man, already keen to explore, became even more animated. Ye Haochuan presented him with a Space Ring, into which he packed some clothing and essential items before setting off alongside Ye Haochuan.
The other villagers, uncertain if Ye Haochuan had divulged their secrets, remained sequestered in their rooms, actively avoiding the giant man.
However, Ye Haochuan observed them stealing furtive glances at the giant man through the gaps in their doors.
Perhaps at this very moment, they could finally comprehend the true value of the giant man. With him present, they had no need to hunt; they could feast on demon beast meat, utilize their hides, and even sell them for coin to purchase necessities, thereby improving their quality of life.
Now, they possessed nothing. To better their lives, they would have to depend entirely on their own efforts.
All of this could be attributed to their prior avarice; had they treated the giant man with greater kindness, they might have even persuaded him not to leave.
