“So this is Divine Dragon Transformation? So powerful!”
Wang Xian sensed the diverse forms of divine dragons and their majestic auras that overlooked everything else. Astonishment filled his gaze.
“So this is how Dragon Strength is used.”
Moments later, Wang Xian breathed out slowly, with a spark of thrill crossing his eyes.
The Art of Cultivation known as Divine Dragon Transformation served as the Divine Dragon's core practice. In fact, it stood as the mightiest among all such arts.
Within Divine Dragon Transformation lay the techniques for collecting and harnessing Dragon Strength.
Through Dragon Strength, he gained access to Inferno Superpower, Frosty Superpower, Wind Superpower, and many other kinds of superpowers.
As described in the Divine Dragon Transformation, Dragon Strength ranked as the supreme form of energy. It had the power to convert into lesser energies.
Those lesser energies included elements such as Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and more. Dragon Strength could also enhance one's physical form.
Yet another potent feature of Dragon Strength involved elevating sea creatures.
Each Divine Dragon commanded its own Dragon Palace, complete with crawfish soldiers and crab generals. With Dragon Strength, common marine animals could be granted evolution, leading to immense power.
“Haha! I never dreamed I'd stumble upon such an amazing fortune.”
Excitement lit up Wang Xian's features. Upon becoming the Divine Dragon, the sickness afflicting his body vanished on its own.
“Having transformed into a divine dragon, I'll soon command the clouds and rain with a mere gesture once my power grows. I'll rise as the ultimate force across the world and establish the grandest Dragon Palace.”
Wang Xian twisted his form and brimmed with grand aspirations.
“As the divine dragon's form strengthens, so will my human body. Time to begin drawing in some Dragon Strength.”
Wang Xian pondered inwardly. Absorbing Dragon Strength could happen in two ways. One involved consuming other creatures to acquire it. The alternative followed the guidelines outlined in the Divine Dragon Transformation.
“I'll start by consuming the creatures nearby.”
Wang Xian's eyes gleamed. Plenty of fish populated the lake near the pavilion. Since the water depth reached only two or three meters, no massive fish lurked there. Thus, he faced no risk from formidable beings.
Wang Xian propelled his body forward and plunged straight into the lake.
“A small grass carp swims there.”
Wang Xian spotted a grass carp matching his own size. He darted his body through the water toward it.
Grass Carp: Level 0
Extractable Dragon Energy: 0.05
“Devour.” Wang Xian approached, parted his jaws, and swallowed the grass carp of equal size. He gained 0.05 Dragon Energy.
“Onward.”
Thrill surged through Wang Xian as he darted about, wildly consuming the nearby creatures.
Grass carp, carp, lobsters, and mudfish.
All these fish registered at Level 0. Even carps weighing three to four jin remained at Level 0. [1]
Wang Xian's devouring ability proved incredibly potent. Fish twice his size shrank instantly and slipped right into his stomach with every gulp.
Next, he herded all the fish into one spot before ravaging them in a feeding frenzy.
Torrential rain continued to fall, clustering seven to eight hundred fish in the lake's center at the school. A golden figure swiftly devoured them all.
Growl!
A faint, gentle dragon roar echoed outward. Though the sound barely rose above a whisper, softer than the pattering rain, it carried boundless majesty.
“Devouring every fish in the lake yielded just twenty Dragon Energy! That's barely anything!”
Thirty minutes passed before the golden-hued Wang Xian reached the lake's shore.
He scanned the surroundings and saw no one nearby. Glancing at his clothes by the water's edge, a bare Wang Xian emerged without hesitation. His eyes held a draconic nobility, and his form glowed with golden radiance.
The exposed physique appeared robust and rippled with muscle.
“I should dress quickly and leave this place.” Wang Xian had no time to bask in his body's dramatic transformation. He hastily grabbed his clothes from the water's side and slipped them on in a rush.
He also retrieved his phone and dashed toward the dormitory.
Bam!
Wang Xian slammed his dormitory door shut, soaked from head to toe. A slight grin crept onto his face.
“My power feels several times greater than before. My body seems far sturdier now too.”
Wang Xian balled his fists. Then, he eyed his damp attire, stripped it off, and donned fresh garments. “So handsome!”
Before the mirror, Wang Xian admired his reflection with near-narcissistic delight.
Summer break had emptied the dormitory building of most people, leaving him alone in the room.
“My current level stays too low. From here on, I'll train hard to evolve into a mighty Divine Dragon without delay.”
Wang Xian gripped his fists firmly and checked his elemental stats.
Name: Wang Xian
Race: Human (Ability to transform into a Dragon)
Level: 1
Dragon Energy: 20/1000
Superpower: Dominate the marine animals (Ability to rule any marine animals that are lower than your own level)
Devour any form of living (For extraction of dragon energy)
Art of Cultivation: Divine Dragon Transformation
“Looks like 20 Dragon Energy doesn't do much at all. I need to hit level 2 fast.”
Wang Xian mused to himself.
Buzz Buzz. Suddenly, Wang Xian's phone began to vibrate.
“No way... The phone still works after dropping into the lake?”
Surprise hit Wang Xian. He hurried over, grabbed the device, and noticed a message from his sister.
He unlocked it, finding no spam this time.
“Brother, I finished my job today and I'm out shopping with Xiao Mi. Tutoring got me two hundred bucks! Brother, let me get you a shirt.”
“Brother, why no reply to my text? Calls aren't going through either?”
...
“Brother, what're you up to? Still at work? Reply right away when you see this.”
Reading the seven or eight messages from his sister brought a warm smile to Wang Xian's lips. He typed back instantly, “Your brother's tied up right now. Go shop and grab what you like. I've got plenty for your tuition, and living costs won't be an issue anymore.”
“I've got a sister joining me at Rivertown University soon. Maybe I can surprise her before she gets here.”
Wang Xian's heart warmed at the image of his cute sister.
“Now that I can shift into a Divine Dragon, how can I start making money? Go to the sea and snag some fish?”
Wang Xian pondered, then thought of that girl. Resolve filled his eyes as he whispered, “I have to get rich someday. Only with power and wealth can I claim what I desire.”
He'd taken odd jobs before, pulling in about a hundred dollars daily. For this summer, he landed a decent gig, netting four thousand in twenty days.
Now, over eight thousand dollars sat in his account. That covered tuition for him and his sister but fell short for daily life.
His sister proved thoughtful, picking up tutoring work back home during break. It paid well, too.
“Once she's in university, I won't let her struggle. I'll make her a true little princess.”
Wang Xian vowed silently, determined not to let her repeat his old routine of juggling studies and part-time work.
Growl.
“I'm starving. Odd, after scarfing down all those fish.”
Hunger struck Wang Xian then. He snatched his umbrella and stepped out.
