Inner Voice: All Heroines Hear My Inner Voice Chapter 1101: Beating Up Alex
Previously on Inner Voice: All Heroines Hear My Inner Voice...
"The wind sings with enchantment, the night swallows the light; all travelers, helpless on their perilous journey, accompanied by deep sorrow, abandon all hope!"
That was the incantation Alex used to summon one of his powers, the Labyrinth, which originated from the god Minos/Minotaur.
The café's private room suddenly transformed into an underground tunnel lit by a row of torches.
Just a few seconds earlier—Eiji had offered Alex the chance to choose the location of their battle. Alex didn't refuse; he even told Eiji about one of his Authority abilities called the Labyrinth, as if to provoke him.
Eiji readily agreed even though he knew that inside the labyrinth, Alex would have a significant advantage. But he didn't mind.
"Eiji, don't regret your decision. You yourself agreed to fight at the place I chose."
"I also teleported your girlfriend along with you. Should I exclude her?"
Alex's voice came from who knows where; his figure was nowhere to be seen.
Makoto furrowed her brow and glanced at the man beside her. As long as he allowed it, she would help him kill Alex.
As for whether that was fair? As an Archon who had lived for thousands of years, she didn't really care about such things.
"No need—she can just watch." Eiji replied casually and added, "Don't worry, I'm more than enough to take you down."
Makoto wanted to protest; she wanted to help, too. But Eiji's inner voice echoed in her head.
[This is a good chance to show my future wife just how strong I am.]
"?" Makoto was stunned.
There wasn't a single woman here besides her. Was the future wife Eiji was referring to her?
It hadn't even been a day since they met—wasn't this moving way too fast!?
That's what Makoto thought. But she didn't feel any resistance in her heart—in fact, she was even a little embarrassed.
Alex laughed in exasperation.
"Eiji, do you think I'm afraid you and your woman are working together? Don't underestimate me. I know you're very strong on your own, but inside this labyrinth... I'm not just a Campione—I'm also a god."
"Is that so? Stop bragging and let's get started." Eiji wasn't the least bit nervous.
Although the Labyrinth allows Alex to create and manipulate a gigantic labyrinth both underground and in the air. This Labyrinth serves to trap enemies, separate the enemy's allies, or manipulate space on the battlefield to give him a strategic advantage
In his eyes, it was nothing more than an object arranged in such a way that contained a little magic and divinity to strengthen its durability.
With his ability to see through objects, Eiji could even gauge the size of the area and pinpoint Alex's location.
"Of course." Alex said coldly. From his position, he summoned his other ability, Black Lightning. "Thunder, descend!"
With the roar of thunder, his body was also enveloped in black lightning, and he moved with godlike speed.
From where he was, he suddenly appeared behind Eiji. His fist swung toward Eiji's head. The force of that punch was at least enough to destroy a tank.
Makoto narrowed her eyes; she wanted to warn Eiji about the attack from behind. But it all happened too fast to put into words.
She could only trust in Eiji's power because she was forbidden from helping him.
*Swoosh!*
Under Alex and Makoto's gaze, Eiji tilted his head.
Alex's fist whizzed past the side of his face. He dodged the attack without turning his head, as if he had eyes in the back of his head.
Eiji spun his body at a speed that surpassed Alex's Godspeed, his hand gripping the collar of his shirt and flinging him to the ground.
He performed a move similar to Judo, a modern Japanese martial art that focuses on throwing techniques and bringing opponents to the ground.
*Boom!*
The ground shattered into pieces.
Alex's eyes widened, and his expression changed as he felt the pain. When his Godspeed was active, everything around him slowed down so much that he could see his own blood coming out of his mouth and floating in the air.
Not only that, he could see Eiji's indifferent expression and his eyes, which had turned light blue, featuring a flower-like pattern and glowing with a white light (Tenseigan).
It was beautiful but terrifying at the same time.
'Damn it! How can he be faster than me? And what kind of eyes are those!?'
Alex cursed inwardly.
As his body slammed into the ground, he frantically tried to break free from Eiji's grip, using his Lightning Avatar. It allowed him to transform his body into pure lightning so that he couldn't be touched.
*Zettt!*
In his lightning form, he flew several dozen meters forward before reverting to human form.
Fortunately, he had successfully broken free from Eiji's grip.
Alex didn't know that Eiji had let him go on purpose—if he'd wanted to, he could have touched him even while he was in his lightning form.
Eiji simply coated his hands with Armament Haki, or spiritual energy.
"Not bad. But Alex, you're still slower than me."
"Speed is just one of my skills! Eiji, don't get too cocky just yet!"
Hearing Eiji belittle him, Alex flew into a rage again. Immediately, he chanted a spell to wield his other power.
Faceless Queen.
This authority was granted by the Goddess Melusine, the feminine spirit of fresh water found in springs and sacred rivers in European folklore. It's an ability that allows him to summon the goddess as his subordinate.
Immediately, the figure of a female spirit as large as a building appeared behind Alex. She floated in the air, had blue hair, and wore a mask to hide her face. All around her, numerous spears floated in the air, radiating divine power.
With one hand pointed forward, the spears flew like bullets toward Eiji and Makoto.
Eiji stepped in front of Makoto, turning his back to her. Seeing this, Makoto felt safe even though she herself should have been able to block those attacks.
*WHOOSH!!*
With Eiji at its center, a silver tornado enveloped him and Makoto. The power of the tornado not only deflected all the spears launched by the goddess Melusine, but also shook the giant underground labyrinth.
Many of the labyrinth's walls were shattered into pieces, and Alex was even forced to move away from the center of the tornado. However, he ordered Goddess Melusine to keep attacking.
Using her own wits, the female spirit known as the Faceless Queen darted forward, attempting to break through Eiji's tornado with physical strength rivaling Godou's boar.
She succeeded and found herself face-to-face with Eiji, who looked at her with a faint smile.
"I don't like hitting women, especially one who hides her beautiful face behind a mask."
Not only that, but Eiji's body was now enveloped in a cyan light. He had entered <Tenseigan Chakra Mode>.
As the Faceless Queen swung the spear in her hand toward him, he easily blocked it with a chakra sphere; even though it was smaller than the Queen's spear, it didn't even waver or shatter upon impact.
"!!!" Goddess Melusine—or rather, the Faceless Queen—was knocked backward, and the spear slipped from her hand.
With blinding speed, Eiji's figure suddenly appeared right in front of her face and snapped his fingers toward her mask.
*BANG!*
The mask immediately shattered into pieces.
And just as Eiji had said, Dewi Melusine's face was indeed beautiful. However, the reason she destroyed her mask was...
"KYAAAAA!!! DON'T LOOK AT MY FACE!!"
Goddess Melusine's face flushed instantly; she covered it with her hands and hurriedly flew upward, piercing through the ceiling of the Labyrinth as if fleeing.
She's incredibly shy.
That was her weakness.
Eiji knew this from the original work. Instead of killing her, he forced her to retreat.
[Just because she's beautiful?]
'Miss System, don't be jealous.'
[Believe it or not, I just wanted to point out your weakness when it comes to beautiful women, host. That's actually a taunt.]
'That's even worse! Miss System, you shouldn't be rude to your host.'
Miss System was speechless.
Eiji turned to Makoto, who seemed mesmerized by her appearance, "Makoto, you're okay, right?"
"I'm fine. Eiji, is that what your god looks like?" Makoto asked curiously.
From Eiji, she could now sense an oppressive presence that even made an Electro Archon like her shudder.
"You could say that. This is just one of the forms my power takes. Do I look handsome?"
"You... Um, you... In my opinion, you're still very handsome."
Makoto shyly admitted that Eiji was very handsome. Especially with those eyes that looked like they had flowers in them.
Eiji rubbed his nose.
[When I come to Inazuma in the future, Ei will have to call me her brother-in-law.]
[Makoto has clearly fallen in love with me.]
Ei: How dare you! You—you must be lying! How could my sister... fall in love with a sinner like you!?
Makoto: Fallen in love? Me? Eiji... You're so full of yourself. I just like you a little!
The other women who heard Eiji's inner voice were used to his narcissism.
They barely reacted.
On the other side.
Alex was so stunned that his mouth hung open for a few moments. "The Faceless Queen ran away because her mask was destroyed? Eiji, how did you know her weakness!?"
The Faceless Queen's weakness was, of course, a secret that only she was supposed to know.
From the way Eiji defeated her, every move he made showed that he truly knew her weakness.
Eiji turned toward Alex in the distance and said casually, "There's nothing in this world I don't know. Alex, I am all-knowing."
"I-It can't be."
Alex couldn't believe it; even if Eiji really were all-knowing, he couldn't believe he knew every move Alex had prepared to defeat him.
He took a step back and prepared to use his other ability. But before he could, Eiji's figure suddenly flickered and crossed a distance of several dozen meters in the blink of an eye.
*BANG!*
Eiji appeared right in front of him and punched him in the stomach, sending him flying far backward and slamming his body into the Labyrinth wall, which cracked like a spiderweb.
Alex coughed up more blood from his mouth; he fell to the ground and clutched his stomach with an expression of intense pain.
Eiji's physical strength even surpassed his own; he nearly fainted just from taking a single blow from him.
"All right, I've at least hit you once. Before I defeat you completely, you can use your other powers."
Eiji's words sounded incredibly condescending. He clearly didn't take Alex seriously and was just toying with him.
Alex felt deeply humiliated.
He gritted his teeth, trying to stand up even as blood dripped from his head.
"Listen to me, goddesses of the endless night, goddesses of the earth and shadows. Fight evil with evil, repay evil with evil, shed blood for blood, pull out a tooth for a tooth—thus does retribution begin. With the blood of a murdered mother, a tragic death thwarts all future efforts at filial piety! Megaera the demon, Tisiphone the avenger, Alecto the merciless, take that curse and carry out the vengeance!"
Alex responded to Eiji's words by immediately chanting his spell. He used his other authority, Summoning the Furies.
An authority that allowed him to summon the three Erinyes, or Furies—sometimes known as the Kind-Hearted Ones—who were the Greek goddesses of vengeance. They could protect him, and any destruction, curse, or danger caused in their presence would be inflicted upon the perpetrator.
So what if Eiji is incredibly strong?
The stronger he is, the stronger the retribution he'll face! A cold light enveloped Alex's eyes; behind him—three female figures were floating. Unlike the beautiful Goddess Melusine, their appearance was terrifying, like that of evil spirits.
With a snap of his fingers, a giant red magic circle appeared beneath Alex's feet, large enough to encompass Eiji within its range.
Inside that magic circle, any form of damage inflicted within this area would be fully returned to the perpetrator.
The manifestations of damage could vary, ranging from invisible forces that directly punished the body to the three Furias attacking the target directly with their weapons. Even more abstract concepts, such as the manipulation of time, could be safely stored by the circle of retribution and released back onto the target.
"Show me just how strong you really are, Eiji! You can even use the move you used to kill the King of the End a few days ago."
Alex said that arrogantly.
Eiji chuckled before saying, "I told you I'm all-knowing. Alex, do you think I don't know the capabilities of the power you're using? I know why you're deliberately provoking me to attack you with a stronger move."
Alex froze. Did Eiji also know the capabilities of the Judging Furies? Even so, he snorted and mocked him.
"Are you afraid to attack me now that you know?"
"Afraid?" Eiji shook his head and grinned. Instantly, Alex shuddered. "I'm glad you're finally using that authority. It makes me want to test just how capable the three beings behind you are."
After saying that, under everyone's gaze, one of the chakra orbs floating behind Eiji glowed with a golden light.
The chakra sphere flew toward one of the hands reaching out toward Alex and enveloped his fingers, just like when Sasuke was about to unleash Chidori Eiso to strike Danzo.
Alex felt a chill in his heart; he realized just how dangerous the attack Eiji was about to unleash was. However, he was confident in the power of the ability he was currently using.
He'll be okay, right?
"Kinrin Tensei Baku (Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion)."
Eiji called out the name of his technique as he clenched his fist. Instantly, the golden light in his hand transformed into a golden sword made of pure chakra. The sword extended and grew larger at an incredible speed.
Its tip engulfed Alex and obliterated the surrounding area. The golden sword continued to grow in length until it was long enough to cut through the Labyrinth and even the earth itself.
Not far behind, Makoto was stunned. That sword strike... It was clearly stronger than the most powerful sword strike her sister, Ei, had ever executed.
"Amazing."
She couldn't help but admire Eiji, who had his back turned to her.
Alex didn't have time to scream as his body was engulfed by the Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion; he felt intense pain, but only for a moment. The corners of his lips curled up even higher.
Eiji's attack was incredibly powerful, but his own authority was still enough to save him from death.
'Eiji, feel the pain your own attack inflicts on me! Hahaha!'
After the golden sword released from Eiji's hand faded and vanished. Alex was still standing in his previous position; even though his injuries looked horrific, he was smiling.
The three Furias behind him finally moved; Eiji's previous attack had prompted them to strike directly to inflict damage on Alex and the area within his retaliation circle.
They seemed to teleport, swinging huge scythes at Eiji from three directions.
"Eiji!" Makoto couldn't help but worry.
That was because, from the Furia's weapons, he could sense an amount of energy no less than that of the golden sword Eiji had unleashed earlier.
"BOOOOMM!!*
An explosion mixed with divine power engulfed Eiji, shaking the Labyrinth so violently that a huge hole connecting to the outside world was torn open in the ceiling.
On a plain that Alex had chosen to build the underground Labyrinth. A pillar of red light continued to soar high into the sky.
Eiji felt the impact of his own attack.
Alex was relieved and hoped he had won.
However—as the pillar of red light and the smoke from the explosion dissipated. Eiji was still standing in the same spot, completely unharmed.
"Impossible!!" Alex shouted, unable to believe what he was seeing.
The three Furias hovering around Eiji showed astonishment in their eyes.
Makoto was relieved that Eiji was okay and admired him even more. Not only was he stronger than his sister, but Eiji's defense was also beyond belief.
"Yare-yare." Eiji uttered the words that Japanese protagonists often say in situations like this.
"So that's how powerful my attack was. Not bad, not bad—I at least felt a little hot for a moment."
Because of that attack, you only felt a little hot?
Are you even speaking human language?
Alex almost threw up blood.
"I've had enough of playing around with you, Alex. Now, it's time to end this fight."
Eiji's smile faded, and his expression turned indifferent. With a movement that defied the concept of time, his figure flickered and appeared right in front of Alex. But that wasn't all—the three heads of Furia behind him had also been severed.
Divine blood dripped from Eiji's hands.
In an instant, he had clearly beheaded both creatures with his own hands.
"!!!" Alex froze.
Fear gripped his heart, along with a hint of regret. His body couldn't move at all; the oppressive aura emanating from Eiji was many times stronger than before.
He held his breath, feeling small as he stood before him.
What the hell?
Is the man in front of him still a Campione or a god?
He might be an ancient monster from another world or something like that!
With power that strong, he was holding back so much just to toy with him.
Ah... I'm going to die, Alex thought.
"For the sake of my promise to Alice, you won't die—at least not yet. But you'll still have to pay the price for provoking me, Alex."
Eiji placed one hand on Alex's shoulder and looked at him with a gaze that was both condescending and malicious.
Alex wasn't happy at all—in fact, he was even more afraid of the man standing before him! What was he going to do to him!?
