After Lei Ying sent Lai Mo and Buchi away, it was only a quarter of an hour before he returned.
"Why are you back so fast?" Bai Xiaosheng asked curiously, looking at Lei Ying.
Lei Ying’s words are always firm; when he says he will send those two back to their place, he will definitely do so and won’t just leave them at the elevator.
Bai Xiaosheng also believed it was necessary to know where the two lived.
At the very least, it would make them apprehensive and less likely to cause trouble.
Lin Weiwei also looked at Lei Ying with curiosity.
The red wine had just been opened; it hadn’t even breathed well, yet Lei Ying was already back?
"Guess where they’re staying? They’re living on the next floor, much closer than you’d think." Lei Ying explained.
Bai Xiaosheng understood and smiled.
Living close is also good—it makes it easy to act quickly when needed.
"It seems the shadowy employer behind those two really knows their stuff. I suspect that their rooms were booked strategically to facilitate their tasks." Lei Ying remarked.
Lin Weiwei puckered her lips and said, "If everything is arranged so meticulously, why hire these two idiots?"
The brothers Lai Mo and Buchi wasted their shadowy employer’s efforts, clumsy and blatant without any disguise.
Lei Ying shrugged, indicating he couldn’t comprehend it either.
"You really underestimate those two brothers, don’t you?" Bai Xiaosheng chuckled, "Maybe they’ll bring us unexpected surprises, who knows."
Though Lin Weiwei wasn’t optimistic about Bai Xiaosheng’s expectation, she nodded and said, "Let’s hope so."
"At least with them involved, we can completely stay out of the matter." Lei Ying added.
"By the way, guess who hired those two people to acquire the commercial secrets involving the Morgan family’s vice chairman and the HBB company?" Lin Weiwei frowned, "The HBB company and the Morgan family vice chairman are in cahoots, secretly like this. Such cooperation must be something shady. But the more it is this way, the stranger it gets. The one behind them seems to be very familiar with everything, even knowing it inside out. I guess it’s either someone from the Morgan family or HBB. That’s interesting. What does he want to do with this secret?"
Lei Ying pondered, "The collaboration must be a deal between higher-ups. Whoever wants to steal the secrets probably has no way or qualification to access the information through formal channels. Therefore, he’s trying this method. He’s a subordinate! As for what he wants to do, let’s focus on his identity tier first."
"A subordinate from the Morgan family vice chairman or HBB?" Lin Weiwei mused, "Whose side is he from? What boldness and ambition!"
The conversation seemed to make the situation clearer.
Bai Xiaosheng moved at a leisurely pace, pouring himself a cup of red wine, and savoring the aroma.
After Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying finished speaking, they looked at Bai Xiaosheng, "Xiaosheng, why aren’t you speaking? What’s your judgment?"
Bai Xiaosheng walked toward the terrace, his voice drifting over, "Your analysis makes sense and is meticulous. But it’s not as if there are no other possibilities. You mustn’t let preconceived notions blind you."
Bai Xiaosheng had said this before, not just once.
Lin Weiwei couldn’t help but walk over and ask, "Then what’s your opinion?"
Bai Xiaosheng raised the cup of red wine in his hand, his gaze calmly passing through the cup and the wine, looking at the sea, "My opinion?"
"Until we have more information, I won’t comment."
Lin Weiwei pursed her lips.
Lei Ying chuckled, walked over to the liquor cabinet, took two cups, grabbed the bottle of red wine, and headed to the terrace, "Then let’s not discuss it, let’s drink."
...
Subsequently, the three indeed did not discuss the conspiracy but merely drank red wine on the terrace, chatted about everything under the sun while enjoying the sea breeze.
In the blink of an eye, two or three hours had passed, and they had finished a bottle of wine.
Lin Weiwei gazed at the emerald sea and suddenly suggested going swimming, saying that on top of the deck there was an outdoor pool; today’s weather was neither cold nor hot, the sun not harsh—perfect for swimming.
Bai Xiaosheng and Lei Ying did not oppose it. After all, their trip was meant for relaxation, and they’d bought swim trunks under Lin Weiwei’s arrangement before boarding.
The three agreed, went to get their things, and then met up to go up the stairs to the top deck.
Once they arrived, the view was incredibly expansive, the skies wide open, and coupled with a gentle sun and a light sea breeze, it was truly invigorating.
There were many people on the deck—handsome men and beautiful women were everywhere, all dressed in swimwear, though only half were actually in the pool, while the other half were taking photos by the railing, "swimming" for their social media.
As far as the eye could see, there was more than one pool on the deck, and the three of them chose a relatively less crowded one to approach.
Adjacent was a changing room, where the three went to change clothes.
When Lin Weiwei came out, she instantly drew numerous gazes.
Compared to the well-endowed Caucasian women, her figure was more symmetrical, neither too fat nor too thin; perfectly balanced, her bikini revealing her exquisite curves and fair skin without any disguise, an alluring vision—like an art piece bestowed by heaven.
A man holding two ice creams was so busy admiring her that he took a misstep and directly fell into the nearby pool.
Another man was so engrossed that his gaze went blank, resulting in him being chased by his girlfriend.
Even women shot envious glances.
Ignoring the surroundings, Lin Weiwei ran straight to Bai Xiaosheng, grabbing his arm with a look of affection.
