Inheritance of Two Trillion Chapter 2734 - 1947: Stern Familial Affection
Previously on Inheritance of Two Trillion...
All the villains, including the big fat one, were subdued by Bai Xiaosheng and Lei Ying. They obediently squatted with their heads in their hands against the wall, no longer as arrogant as before.
Even their unconscious or pretending-to-be-unconscious companions were woken up and made to squat in a row.
Lei Ying took the crude wooden target off the hotel wall and hung it on a nearby pillar, taking a simple throwing knife to exchange insights with Bai Xiaosheng.
Lei Ying also knew how to throw knives, but the performance by Bai Xiaosheng a moment ago still amazed him.
While discussing techniques with Bai Xiaosheng, Lei Ying casually threw the knife at the target, the "bang-bang" sounds making the hearts of the fat man’s gang jump in fear.
They reckoned that if they had the chance to get out of prison, they’d walk around anyone with black eyes and yellow skin on the street.
They used to think that all Huaxia people knowing kung fu was a baseless rumor, but now they’d vehemently argue with anyone who said it was false.
Not far away, Mollya watched Bai Xiaosheng with a complex and quiet gaze; her current feelings were indescribable.
She had originally thought Bai Xiaosheng was a fraud, but it turned out that his identity was remarkable and his capabilities were unfathomable.
She had assumed Bai Xiaosheng was a reckless do-gooder, but it turned out he had terrifying skills, possessing incredible techniques.
So who exactly is he?!
Mollya had just tried to ask, but Bai Xiaosheng only smiled and said something about them just having chanced upon each other, not worth mentioning, that he was just an ordinary Huaxia person.
That was clearly perfunctory!
But in front of so many villains right now, it wouldn’t be proper to speak bluntly.
Still, Mollya was quite annoyed, given her status, looks, and charm, she had never been ignored by a man before. It was truly infuriating.
Annoyed, Mollya would steal glances at Bai Xiaosheng. After seeing him more, she instead found him not as objectionable as she initially thought, and even found his gestures somewhat attractive.
Bai Xiaosheng noticed Mollya watching him and promptly paused his conversation with Lei Ying, walking over and whispering with a smile, "Miss Mollya, in a bit, I’d like to ask you for a favor."
Mollya was startled upon hearing this and curiously asked, "What favor?"
Bai Xiaosheng smiled and said, "We don’t want to get involved in trouble here. I believe you have a way to resolve the trouble that follows, so when the Xixiaoer police arrive, we’d like to claim to be your attendants."
Mollya raised an eyebrow, half-jokingly, "And if I refuse?"
"Then let’s pretend I didn’t say anything," Bai Xiaosheng still smiled, neither angry nor annoyed.
Mollya snorted but said nothing further.
Lin Weiwei, not far away, looked at Mollya with some dissatisfaction.
Lei Ying, however, casually threw the knives at the target in his hand, one after another.
Before long, the sound of police sirens came screeching in.
Soon, the hotel entrance was surrounded by several police cars.
When the Xixiaoer police officers rushed into the hotel, they were all astonished by the scene inside.
Mollya directly approached the leader, proclaiming, "I was the one who called the police."
Afterward, Mollya had her own explanation, describing Bai Xiaosheng and the others as her retinue and saying they accidentally stumbled upon the filth here and subdued that gang of villains.
The leading officer was skeptical, but nonetheless politely arranged a car for the four of them to return to the police station to make a statement, while he busied himself organizing personnel to transport the criminals and rescue the two girls trapped in the back room.
After Bai Xiaosheng and the others arrived at the police station, the people coming to pick up Mollya arrived.
She had made a call on the road.
Not only did a well-known lawyer come, but also a highly reputed parliamentarian and Justice of the Peace from Xixiaoer and after Mollya quickly made a statement, she brought Bai Xiaosheng and the others out without needing them to elaborate further.
Outside the police station, Bai Xiaosheng and the two then bid farewell to Mollya.
"I can arrange a place for you to stay. It’s so late, you might have trouble finding a place to settle," Mollya said to Bai Xiaosheng.
"No need to trouble you. We can find a place," Bai Xiaosheng courteously replied.
Mollya said again, "It’s no trouble at all; just a word—it would be my way of thanking you."
"No need, Miss Mollya," Bai Xiaosheng still replied politely.
Beside them, Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying had already hailed a taxi and called Bai Xiaosheng to get in the car.
Bai Xiaosheng smiled at Mollya and then left directly.
Mollya was about to say something but stopped, finally watching Bai Xiaosheng and the others leave by car with some frustration and stamped her foot, "This man, truly doesn’t know what’s good for him!"
After her anger subsided, Mollya too got into the car that had come to pick her up and left the place.
In the car, still a bit angry, Mollya’s phone rang.
Originally she didn’t want to answer, but upon seeing the name displayed, she calmed her mood and answered the phone.
"Hello, Mom," Mollya said softly.
On the other end of the line came a female voice utterly devoid of emotion, "I heard there was a bit of a situation in Xixiaoer?"
"It was somewhat dangerous, but it’s all fine now," Mollya quickly replied, "Thank you for your concern."
The voice on the other end turned a bit discontented, "I’ve reminded you multiple times, wherever you are, make sure to take your bodyguard and servants. If something happens to you, it brings disgrace to the family!"
"Yes," Mollya said in a low voice.
"Also, the Shengsheng International deal hasn’t been closed yet? You’re really a disappointment!" the voice coldly sneered, "Even given a small company to practice on, you accomplish nothing! You’ve been by my side for so many years, yet you’ve made no progress!"
Mollya dared not argue and waited until her mother finished speaking before saying, "The other party has agreed to cooperate with us."
"Then you’ve spent too much time on this! Is there anything to be proud of?" the voice on the other side said coldly, "Alright, I don’t have time to quibble with you over this. Now, come over by car overnight. I’m in Ganande. This time, see how outstanding people your age can be, and make sure to learn a lot!"
Mollya bit her lip, calmed her breathing, and respectfully said, "Yes, I’ll head there by car right now. Please take care of your health and rest early..."
"I got it."
Before Mollya could finish her words, the other end had already hung up, the "beep-beep" busy tone following.
Mollya let her hand holding the phone drop, her expression unprecedentedly weary, she closed her eyes silently in the car.
At this moment, in Ganande, inside a study of a luxurious mansion.
A middle-aged white lady put down her phone back in her handbag, and a woman across from her chuckled softly, "Mrs. Margery is really strict with her family, not relaxing even with her daughter."
The lady Margery faintly smiled, "Only with strict requirements can one cultivate talent; doesn’t Miss Caroline think so?"
Opposite her was indeed Caroline.
Caroline pursed her lips with a smile, clearly showing agreement.
"Let us continue with our previous topic. This time, Bai Xiaosheng is closely related to your side. That man is quite a jinx!"
