Bai Xiaosheng lunched with Deputy Mayor Tori, Luka, Filas, and Laimu, finalizing cooperation details while treating all parties equally and earning deep respect. He envisioned Luka's firm as Feibei High-Tech, North Africa's tech leader, arranging headquarters and support from Qidian Power, while assigning Filas and Laimu's deals to Zhenbei Group. After touring other enterprises and forging alliances, he departed Nalinta City amid Tori's insistent escort of three cars and four personnel.

This resembled somewhat of a rivalry against Dilu City’s Vice Mayor Samba.

Ultimately, Bai Xiaosheng had no choice but to yield.

Vice Mayor Tori escorted them personally with two leading cars ahead and Bai Xiaosheng’s car in pursuit, watching until they vanished from view.

What peak hospitality indeed.

Inside the vehicle, Lin Weiwei probed the driver once more.

Remaining a local unfamiliar with the Huaxia language, he allowed the trio to converse freely in Huaxia.

Mid-journey, a Huaxia Business Group official rang up.

Bai Xiaosheng first assumed it concerned their return, yet learned the meeting shifted from tonight to noon tomorrow, as certain visiting teams faced delays preventing tonight’s arrival. Higher authorities, assessing circumstances, rescheduled accordingly.

Thus, Bai Xiaosheng’s party no longer needed to hasten to Banjiao City that evening, arriving comfortably by midday tomorrow.

"Had we known sooner, we wouldn’t have hurried like this." Lin Weiwei sighed after Bai Xiaosheng ended the call, "We’ve rushed nonstop the entire way..."

Even while voicing this, Lin Weiwei yawned and stretched leisurely, admitting early return held no downsides.

Bai Xiaosheng pondered briefly before declaring, "So today, we skip heading back to Banjiao City."

"Huh?" Lin Weiwei stared in shock at Bai Xiaosheng’s statement.

Lei Ying gazed at Bai Xiaosheng astonishedly too, inquiring, "Not returning? Then where are we headed?"

"To Dilu City!" Bai Xiaosheng stated firmly, "Straight to Dilu City!"

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying shared puzzled looks, both baffled.

"Why go there? To inspect the partnership among the Kuer, Kulik folks, and ours?" Lin Weiwei asked, unable to hold back.

Nothing else came to her mind as a motive.

Was it truly essential?

Lei Ying doubted that motivated Bai Xiaosheng, fixing him with a keen gaze.

"Remember our research en route? An enticing company awaits in Dilu City." Bai Xiaosheng grinned.

Lin Weiwei’s eyes widened in abrupt recollection, gesturing excitedly, "Oh yeah, now it clicks..."

"The Zhenbei Group’s African division is right here!" Lei Ying caught on too, his gaze lighting up.

Among cities tied to Banjiao City economically, Dilu City and Nalinta City ranked as the weakest pair.

Nalinta City eagerly sought Zhenbei Group’s African branch investment, yet failed. Surprisingly, Dilu City gained their favor.

That fuels Vice Mayor Tori’s grudge against Dilu City.

Back at base, Bai Xiaosheng’s crew caught wind of Zhenbei Group’s African ventures shifting "northward." This local outpost formed part of that strategy. Naturally, prior plans excluded a visit.

A chance to explore presented itself now.

Rumors swirled that Zhenbei Group’s Dilu City outpost carried weight, behaving "arrogantly," rejecting Huaxia Business Group inspections repeatedly for flimsy excuses, probably aiming for discretion.

Such secrecy only heightened Bai Xiaosheng’s curiosity.

Grasping his aim, Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying grew eager to investigate too.

At once, Lin Weiwei directed the driver in English toward Dilu City.

Though startled by the directive, the driver obliged the VIP passengers’ demand, heeding Vice Mayor Tori’s strict orders against displeasing them.

Quickly, he radioed the leading pair of vehicles.

Thus, the convoy veered at a junction, bound straight for Dilu City.

...

Dilu City, a modest mid-sized hub, boasted a cutting-edge eastern zone with top-tier facilities and notable firms aplenty.

A prior Huaxia Business Group subgroup visited recently, departing prematurely with scant results.

Zhenbei Group’s African branch outpost, piquing Bai Xiaosheng’s interest, sat there too.

Along a primary avenue, a vehicle raced forward.

This rented auto had a female at the wheel; spotting her would ring bells for Bai Xiaosheng’s group.

None other than Miss Jenny, their prior "adversary."

Right then, Miss Jenny scowled darkly, gripping the wheel fiercely.

Her male companions shifted uncomfortably.

"So maddening! That cursed Huaxia guy!" Jenny fumed at the wheel, "Pulling strings to probe us, squandering my precious time! The scum!"

Unquenched after railing at foes, Miss Jenny redirected her fury at her carmates.

"What sort of junk vehicle did you fools prepare? It broke down over and over on the road! I had to grab a rental, and now my image is wrecked when I show up! Are you all complete idiots?"

The guys inside the car didn't dare to utter a word.

Yet, watching Jenny floor the accelerator and blare the horn non-stop, the fellow in the front seat grew increasingly anxious, gripping the door handle hard.

"Miss Jenny, maybe I should take the wheel... You're going way too fast!" The man managed a strained smile as he proposed.

This lady was downright scary—raging by speeding wildly, the rented ride darting perilously between vehicles, sending chills down spines.

"Scared of what? I'm an ace driver!" Jenny scoffed, "Plus, there's a checkpoint way up ahead; I'll ease off then!"

While talking, Jenny peeked at the front seat, then checked the rearview to spot the backseaters, sneering mockingly, "You grown men are worthless cowards! Taking you with me was my worst call!"

Despite the insults, the men kept their mouths shut.

Power and status rule everywhere, including the office—higher-ups naturally hold sway.

They had no choice but to take it silently.

During a sharp lane switch, the car nearly grazed another one. The passenger's face drained of color; he couldn't speak, clutching the handle and seatbelt fiercely.

In the rear, a few made the sign of the cross, others squeezed their eyes shut.

"I know exactly what I'm doing!" Jenny sneered, "Quit fretting over nothing..."

Jenny's words trailed off as three vehicles abruptly loomed near at the crossroads ahead.

Having just overtaken one, Jenny spotted them, eyes narrowing; she yanked the wheel hard and stomped the brakes.

Sadly, her velocity was excessive. She skirted the first, evaded the second, but collided close with the third.

The pair of cars almost kissed sides, halting in tandem with screeching brakes.

At the point of near-touch, a side mirror shattered, and sparks erupted from the door panels.

"Ah!"

"Oh my God!"

"Mamma mia!"

The men in Jenny’s ride shrieked in high-pitched voices right then.

Jenny felt the terror too, hands clamped desperately on the wheel.

At last, the vehicle halted, mercifully averting a worse disaster.

But a barrage of thuds and crunches echoed from behind.

That marked the chain-reaction pileup...

Jenny went ashen, her brake pedal nearly punched through the floor; limbs shook uncontrollably.

Regaining composure, she whipped around furiously, dropping the side window to scream at the adjacent driver, "Hey, what's your driving problem!"

The neighboring car's driver lowered his glass too—a hefty guy, face pallid, roaring back in fury.

Moments later, the back window of that vehicle descended, showing a youthful Huaxia face peering over.

It was Bai Xiaosheng!

Bai Xiaosheng and his crew had gotten a huge scare.

Jenny was set to trade barbs with the other driver when she noticed Bai Xiaosheng in the rear, freezing briefly before erupting, "You again, you Halley’s Comet!"

Bai Xiaosheng spotted her too and furrowed his brow, "Oh, it's you!"
