Bai Xiaosheng instructed his group to wait while he followed Nick to meet the Kulik Clan Leader and resolve the passage issue. Along the way through the simple village, they learned the rival Kuer Clan Leader had arrived with the deputy mayor for mediation over deadly clan clashes and irrigation rights. Bai Xiaosheng, fluent in the dialect, overheard the details, conceived an exciting new plan, and reached the hilltop square.

Many individuals gathered before the grand residence they called home—one row formed by the Kurik People, while the opposing row, clad in sharply contrasting outfits, clearly came from a different tribe, most likely the Kuer People.

Right now, these two lines of people matched perfectly in numbers, staring each other down with fierce hostility, on the verge of exploding into combat at any instant.

Besides them, a few others waited at the large house's doorway, clad in sharp suits, appearing neat and polished, their skin tones varying from dark to pale.

These must have been summoned by Vice Mayor Samba.

From their spot, Bai Xiaosheng and Nick caught the heated quarreling voices spilling out from inside the large house.

"No, no, absolutely not! We must have more irrigation time and usage rights, or we will definitely not accept peace talks!"

"Us too, why should they be given more usage! The reservoir is a gift from heaven, and to defend our rights, we will fight to the last person if necessary!"

"Us too!"

"Then there’s nothing more to say, let’s go to war!"

"Yes, only force and bloodshed can resolve our differences!"

In addition to the two dominant voices clashing fiercely, a persistent third voice kept attempting mediation: "Two Clan Leaders, don’t be impulsive, there’s always a way to solve things, please don’t let it come to bloodshed again, or it will be very difficult for me..."

Standing beside Bai Xiaosheng, Nick caught those words too, his brows knitting tightly as he slammed his spear's butt, "There’s no way to talk to the Kuer People! Only when they taste blood will they understand what fear and respect mean!"

While saying this, Nick started marching forward with his men, yet the moment he stepped out, a firm hand seized his wrist.

Nick whipped around with a savage glare at whoever had halted him.

It turned out to be Bai Xiaosheng.

"Don’t be impulsive, Mr. Nick. I told you I’m here to meet your Clan Leader and resolve your issues. Take me to him now."

"Now?" Nick's forehead creased at those words, doubt creeping back into his expression toward Bai Xiaosheng.

With a grin, Bai Xiaosheng replied, "Even if you don’t trust me, honor your customs at least. I’ve finished the ’Warrior’s Proof’. I demand to see your Clan Leader—right now!"

Bai Xiaosheng pressed the point hard, underscoring their sacred tradition once more.

"Fine, anyway, my father talking to the Kuer Clan Leader leads nowhere." Nick relented.

Immediately, Nick strode directly toward the large house.

Bai Xiaosheng found himself glancing once more at Nick's retreating figure.

To his surprise, this Nick was none other than the Clan Leader's own son—a true "prince" after all.

Bai Xiaosheng observed as Nick entered the large house, and moments later, he emerged again, gesturing with his spear to the two Kurik People trailing Bai Xiaosheng, motioning them to escort him inside.

Those two promptly guided Bai Xiaosheng straight through.

Weaving past the two rows of proud, bitterly opposed figures, Bai Xiaosheng truly sensed the tension of a diplomatic incursion abroad.

Arriving at the large house, Nick himself ushered him within.

Three figures occupied the interior: two seated opposite each other in the main spots, the third off to the side.

Both central men donned Clan Leader attire—opulent robes crafted specially, adorned with feathers.

In Bai Xiaosheng's eyes, the sole distinction lay in one being somewhat plump, the other somewhat lean.

The sidelined man was dark-skinned too, sporting cropped hair half turned gray, dressed in a suit.

The moment Bai Xiaosheng stepped in, all three turned their piercing stares upon him.

"Are you the Huaxia man seeking me out?" The plumpish Clan Leader rumbled deeply.

He appeared to be the Kurik People's Clan Leader.

Smiling, Bai Xiaosheng nodded, "You must be the Kurik Clan's Clan Leader. Yes, that's me."

Turning to the others with a smile, Bai Xiaosheng added, "I take it this is the Kuer Clan Leader, and you, Mr. Samba, Vice Mayor of the city?"

They nodded in confirmation.

"Who are you?" Mr. Samba asked with a furrowed brow.

As Vice Mayor, his insight was keen; Samba had detected the extraordinary presence around Bai Xiaosheng and his instant recognition of identities—no commoner could do that.

Meeting their skepticism, Bai Xiaosheng grinned, "I’m the one who can solve your troubles."

"Ridiculous!" The Kurik Clan Leader scoffed icily, "I don’t care who you are or where you’re from; your words are a bit too bold! Go ahead and tell us how you’ll solve our troubles!"

Mr. Samba and the Kuer Clan Leader shared a look, brows knitting as they eyed Bai Xiaosheng.

"The problems and conflicts between your two tribes stem from a reservoir, don’t they?" Bai Xiaosheng smiled.

"Since both crave more usage and priority rights, why not just split it right down the middle? Half to each side, and that ought to settle the matter, right?"

"The shape of your reservoir is fairly uniform, so dividing it in half won't spark much argument about the portions."

Such notions sounded downright outrageous, prompting Mr. Samba and the two Clan Leaders to gaze at Bai Xiaosheng like he was either a complete idiot or utterly insane.

Bai Xiaosheng went on muttering to himself, "Your reservoir has already been artificially reshaped, meaning a central dam to split it won't harm the surroundings or wildlife. Once separated, each half can launch its own fisheries, the dam could produce electricity, and a fish processing plant could be set up to address your tribes' job shortages. On top of that, I can aid in building fresh homes for you. Should you wish to take up farming, I can bring in Huaxia farming expertise too. Sound good?"
