Su Yu completes the repairs on the Chain Saw and Double-Range Shotgun, gaining experience points that level him up and further slow the progression of his radiation sickness on his right arm. As night falls, he reflects on his late mentor's treasured Shadow Type-3 Electric Sniper Rifle, discovering its exceptional level and the faint possibility of repairing it for potential rewards like blueprints, fueling his determination to escape the Ruins Star. The next morning, with his symptoms advancing more slowly, a burly middle-aged man bursts into the repair shop, concerned about Su Yu's condition.

Sensing the middle-aged man's worried gaze, a faint warmth stirred in Su Yu's heart. He quickly rose to greet him, drew out a chair, and smiled as he spoke, "Thanks for your concern, Uncle Yang. I wrapped up the third treatment round yesterday. The medicine is kicking in. Even if it merely slows the erosion speed, it beats doing nothing at all!"

Revealing his profession panel to outsiders was out of the question, but fortunately, the anti-radiation potion also delayed erosion, offering a flawless cover for the effects of his recent upgrade.

Standing before him was Yang Lie, one among the thirteen Hunting Captains of Shelter No. 73, and a battle-hardened hunter with five years of service in the Sanctuary's teams.

Though the Night Slayer Team's latest expansion had merged two of the original thirteen squads into it, reducing their number to eleven.

Yang Lie remained a top-tier hunter within the Sanctuary.

Rumors held that he had unlocked the extraordinary might of the Physical Body system, making him a one-star Extraordinary in that domain, though Su Yu couldn't confirm the details.

Even so, Uncle Yang's build was formidable and robust, packed with bulging muscles that radiated raw power.

Su Yu sensed that a single blow from him could pulverize anything in its path.

Yet, for all his tough exterior, Yang Lie was actually warm-hearted and straightforward.

It was his voice that had swayed the team long ago to rescue Su Yu from the wilds and place him under the old man's watch and tutelage.

Out of deep gratitude for that favor, Su Yu always poured his best into fixing and maintaining the gear for Yang Lie's squad before every outing.

"Glad the medicine's doing something! You're spot on—any progress is better than standing still, that's the right spirit!"

Relief washed over Yang Lie at the news of the potion helping Su Yu. After scrutinizing his face and seeing no signs of fibbing, he nodded and passed over the small bundle from his right hand.

"Here, take this. Your strength must be low right now; it'll aid your recovery!"

Su Yu accepted the bundle, unwrapped it, and discovered a chunk of deep crimson Anger Scorpion Meat.

This Radiation Beast was lethally toxic throughout, yet beneath the scale armor at its tail's root lay a tiny portion, roughly one or two pounds, of flesh.

That flesh carried zero radiation, tasted divine, restored vitality immensely, and even boosted bodily strength.

On Ruins Star, it ranked as a rare gourmet treat.

Such a half-pound slab of Anger Scorpion Meat could swap for multiple basic homemade guns, ammo stocked, at any Sanctuary repair outlet.

"This... this is far too valuable..."

Su Yu reflexively moved to decline, but Yang Lie dismissed it with a wave: "Cut it out with the formalities, kid. Just focus on getting better. I'm counting on your skills to sharpen up and build a custom mechanical weapon for your Uncle Yang one day!"

At Yang Lie's remark,

Su Yu's heart stirred, his thoughts drifting to the pair of weapons he had mended the day before, a spark igniting in his gaze.

Just then, Yang Lie added offhandedly, "The hunting conditions in the Sanctuary are growing tougher by the day. With the third-ranked Night Slayer Team swelling so fast, if we fail the quotas, our Ninth Squad could get swallowed up by them against our will."

"I can't figure out why the top two squads and the Manager stay so passive, letting the Night Slayer Team balloon unchecked."

Su Yu had some awareness of the Night Slayer Team as well.

Though it sat third in rank, the squad was commanded by a scarce Spirit-type Transcendent in the Sanctuary, whose abilities outstripped typical Physical Body Transcendents. Word had it that their leader, Li He, held ties to larger settlements beyond the Sanctuary.

And since Shelter No. 73 was merely a minor outpost, the Manager and leading squads hesitated to block the Night Slayer's growth, something Su Yu could grasp.

"After all, Li He's got connections, and thinking about it, the Manager hasn't stepped in for ages now. Isn't he getting on in years..." Su Yu's voice held a subtle undertone.

Exactly.

Was the Manager's long inaction due to choice, or inability?

The idea hit Yang Lie abruptly, sending a faint shiver through him. Should the Sanctuary's four-star pinnacle Transcendent pillar prove unable to act, the fallout for everyone would be catastrophic.

"The higher-ups' schemes aren't our concern." Yang Lie shook it off with a head shake and gestured broadly: "Anyway, I'm heading out with the team today. The Management Office wants fifteen firearm sets from you, each packed with a hundred rounds. You set?"

As he spoke, worry crept into Yang Lie's voice: "If you're short, Uncle Yang can settle for twelve sets at most, and we'll skimp on the ammo..."

Yang Lie's words trailed off.

They lodged in his throat.

While he talked, Su Yu had directed Nuonuo to wheel in the cart brimming with fixed firearms—fifteen guns lined up precisely, each accompanied by a hundred rounds of compatible bullets on the platform.

Each gun gleamed like it was fresh from the forge, though they were repaired items.

Yet as Yang Lie hefted one, racked the slide, and chambered a round, he marveled at its flawless action, his eyes widening in awe!

"Kid, you've outdone yourself! How on earth?"

Yang Lie beamed at Su Yu in admiration.

He recalled that only a month prior, the guns from this young man still bore small flaws.

No grave defects like barrel bursts or failures to fire, but plenty of nitpicks such as stuck actions, limited reach, and weak stopping power.

This plagued every repair shop in the Sanctuary.

Even Su Yu's master could only curb the failure rate somewhat.

But the firearms Su Yu now displayed boasted at least a twenty percent quality leap!

That modest twenty percent gain meant Yang Lie's team could bag twenty percent more prey, while casualties dropped sharply.

"I can't quite explain; perhaps this sickness gave me downtime to sort through the old man's lessons properly."

Su Yu rubbed his head with a grin, deflecting lightly.

Yang Lie harbored no doubts, gazing at him approvingly: "Excellent! Looks like you turned your bad luck around! Fine, I'll grab these guns, and you carry on with your tasks!"

Yang Lie prepared to depart with a casual salute, but then Su Yu hauled out two large pieces from behind the counter, instantly seizing Yang Lie's focus!

"Uncle Yang, you've always hoped I'd forge a mechanical weapon for you. Take a look—could these tide you over?"

Su Yu slid the finished Chain Saw over to Yang Lie, paired with a shotgun.

The instant Yang Lie's eyes hit the Chain Saw and shotgun, they locked on unyieldingly.

For hunters,

a superior weapon often meant survival in dire straits!

Besides, for Yang Lie with his Physical Body awakening, the shotgun aside, this Chain Saw alone would hike his wilderness kill rate by thirty percent!

"You fixed both of these?"

Shock etched Yang Lie's face as he stared at Su Yu.

With Su Yu nodding and smiling in confirmation, Yang Lie gulped hard.

"Su, mind if I test them?"

"Go right ahead!"

Su Yu had pulled these out specifically to offer Uncle Yang.

In the Sanctuary, few could buy such pieces; only mid-level folks from hunting or scouting teams might afford them.

And of those, Yang Lie stood as his closest ally, the ideal customer.

With Su Yu's go-ahead, Yang Lie snatched the Chain Saw, whirled it experimentally, and a broad grin spread across his features.

This Chain Saw fit his dreams to a tee!

The shotgun drew equal fervor from him.

Though Su Yu's fixes had trimmed the shotgun's effective range, Yang Lie shrugged it off.

Who cared about shorter range?

He already pictured storming Radiation Beasts up close, shotgun booming to drop one, then seizing the Chain Saw to hack it apart in seconds.

Visions like that set Yang Lie's blood racing, itching to seize the tools and dive into the wilds for a brutal clash with those beasts!
