Immortality Through Array Formations Chapter 2420 Chapter 1098: Farewell (Part 2)
Previously on Immortality Through Array Formations...
Upon departing Solitary Mountain City, Mo Hua made his way to a humble fishing hamlet situated by the Mistwater River.
Old Yu greeted Mo Hua with immense joy, promptly preparing a delicate fish soup for his guest, utilizing his most prized young fish fry.
Unbeknownst to Old Yu, Mo Hua's true standing was far grander than he perceived.
He was unaware that Mo Hua held the esteemed position of Junior Brother within the Taixu Gate, often referred to as the "Crown Prince" of the sect, and a celebrated prodigy who had achieved the Double Champion titles in both the Qianxue Debate and the Qianxue Formation Path.
To Old Yu, Mo Hua was simply his cherished "little benefactor."
While savoring the delectable fish soup, Mo Hua inquired casually about the recent events within the small fishing village.
Old Yu responded with a countenance etched in fear, relaying that an unusual number of strange occurrences had plagued the area lately.
"First, the heavens themselves showed an anomaly; five radiant golden figures materialized in the sky, exuding an aura of immense power. Then, a celestial river appeared to descend, and a colossal Formation shook the very world..."
"Following that, Xuantian Peak dramatically collapsed. Not long after, the sky turned a terrifying shade of blood-red, signaling, we presumed, the emergence of a formidable Great Demon."
"This crimson hue persisted for months, nearly transforming the Mistwater River into a torrent of blood."
"We all believed it to be the end of days, but then, inexplicably, all fell into darkness. Silence reigned, entire mountaintops crumbled into black dust, and countless demonic creatures were reduced to embers, as if they were mere paper. It was truly a sight of profound terror..."
Old Yu animatedly recounted the tale, his words painting vivid pictures of the astonishing events.
Cultivators at the lower tiers, possessing limited Qi and comprehension, could only grasp the surface of these happenings, remaining largely oblivious to the deeper truths.
Yet, this did not diminish his enthusiasm for the narrative; it was evident these extraordinary events had become the staple of his daily conversations.
Old Yu then voiced his curiosity, posing a question to Mo Hua: "Benefactor, in your esteemed opinion, who do you believe was the architect behind these extraordinary phenomena – the golden figures in the sky, the celestial river's descent, the blood-red heavens, and the world's subsequent silence?"
Mo Hua, mid-sip of his fish soup, unexpectedly choked, letting out a couple of coughs.
"I... I have no idea either..."
Old Yu observed Mo Hua, offering a nod of understanding.
"That is understandable. The benefactor is only at the Foundation Establishment stage, it is unlikely you would possess knowledge of such profound secrets."
Their conversation then shifted to more mundane, everyday matters.
Abruptly, Mo Hua inquired, "Where might Little Shunzi and Little Shuizi be? I have not yet seen them."
Upon the mention of the children, Old Yu's expression shifted to one of profound gratitude towards Mo Hua.
"Thanks to the benefactor's kindness, those two youngsters indeed encountered great fortune. Demonstrating a degree of innate talent, they learned Cultivation Techniques and have now been accepted into a Great Sect to further their cultivation."
"A Great Sect?" Mo Hua expressed mild surprise. "Which Great Sect might that be?"
"It appears to be named... Gui Water Sect," Old Yu replied.
"Gui Water Sect?" Mo Hua repeated, a look of astonishment crossing his face. He had never anticipated that Little Shunzi and Little Shuizi would, by sheer chance, become disciples of the Gui Water Sect.
"Were they admitted through a formal application, or were they taken in by a specific individual?" Mo Hua probed further.
Old Yu explained, "An Elder who happened to pass through, bearing the surname Yu, recognized the children's considerable talent. As they also shared the Yu surname, he felt a connection and decided to take Little Shunzi and Little Shuizi under his wing."
"Was it truly an Elder from the Gui Water Sect?" Mo Hua's brow furrowed slightly.
Old Yu pondered for a moment before confirming, "Yes, it was indeed the Gui Water Sect Elder. I personally saw those two children, Little Shunzi and Little Shuizi, safely into the Gui Water Sect. Both youngsters hold that Elder Yu in high regard."
"Elder Yu..."
Mo Hua contemplated the information, then nodded slowly. "I comprehend now..."
Having finished his nourishing fish soup, Mo Hua decided to pay a visit to the small silver fish residing in the back mountain.
Through its diligent guardianship of the Dragon Bone statue and the regular offerings of incense from the villagers, the little silver fish had visibly increased in size, its scales now exhibiting a faint shimmer reminiscent of "dragon scales."
The little silver fish greeted Mo Hua with palpable excitement, its tiny tail wagging furiously as it circled him, displaying an undeniable affection.
Mo Hua gently tapped its forehead with a finger, a smile gracing his lips. "I must soon depart, and it may be some time before I can visit you again."
The usually vibrant tail of the little silver fish ceased its motion abruptly.
Its head drooped, conveying a profound sense of sadness.
Mo Hua let out a soft sigh and offered words of comfort:
"Deities possess incredibly long lifespans. Concentrate on your cultivation, accept the incense offerings, and continue to protect your devotees. We shall undoubtedly meet again one day."
"Furthermore, that... statue, consider it a gift from me. Ensure it is guarded with utmost care."
The little silver fish nodded repeatedly, a glimmer of renewed spirit returning to its demeanor.
After spending a little more time in its company, Mo Hua finally took his leave.
Old Yu escorted Mo Hua to the village's edge, clasping his hands together in sincere gratitude, and began to speak:
"This old man isn't good with words, just wishes that the benefactor will have smooth sailing ahead and that all your wishes come true."
Mo Hua offered a smile and wished Old Yu "favorable weather and prosperity every year."
Following this, Mo Hua departed from the humble fishing village by carriage, journeying southwards alongside the river.
After a period, Mo Hua's expression shifted subtly; he raised the carriage curtain to observe a silver fish trailing him, its scales shimmering upon the Mistwater River.
By the time the carriage had journeyed a considerable distance, leaving the Smoke Water River vicinity behind, the small silver fish found itself unable to keep pace. It wandered in place, appearing confused for a long spell before finally turning back toward home, solitary and reluctant.
...
Upon exiting the Mistwater River region, Mo Hua traversed a mountain path, heading towards Kushan Mountain to pay a visit to Lord Yellow Mountain.
Lord Yellow Mountain was an acquaintance from prior to his entry into the Qian Learning State Boundary.
Amidst the calamity of the Blood Sacrifice, Mo Hua remained uncertain about Lord Yellow Mountain's fate.
Whether he had been impacted, corrupted, or had fallen once more...
A measure of worry and concern weighed upon Mo Hua.
However, previously, ensnared by a twist of fate, he had been confined to the back mountain by Elder Master Xun. Subsequently, his time became consumed by graduation and a multitude of other pressing matters.
Now, with a measure of freedom restored, Mo Hua embarked on this special journey to Kushan Mountain, eager to see his old companion.
Upon entering Kushan Mountain and setting foot on the ascending steps, the rocky trail was strewn with fallen leaves. This path continued all the way to the summit of the secluded mountain. Lifting his gaze slightly, he then perceived the desolate temple belonging to Lord Yellow Mountain.
