Immortality Through Array Formations Chapter 2051 Chapter 980: Dream Dragon
Previously on Immortality Through Array Formations...
Though referred to as a dragon, its appearance was not entirely draconic.
It possessed the head, eyes, mouth, whiskers, and talons of a dragon, yet its physical form was strikingly human. Clad in a deep blue-black dragon robe and crowned with gold and jade from which precious jewels dangled, the figure sat with immense dignity upon a high throne. It radiated an aura of supreme authority, as if it held the power to govern the entire world, appearing exceptionally noble and formidable.
Mo Hua turned his gaze toward his surroundings and realized he was standing within a magnificent, sprawling hall.
The structure was colossal, featuring pillars intricately carved with dragons and enveloped in swirling mist.
Lining both sides of the chamber were rows of "nobles" dressed in exquisite attire, a gathering that included civil ministers, powerful generals, and high priests.
While they appeared human, certain parts of their bodies had undergone a "Dragon Transformation." Some displayed sharp dragon claws, others were covered in shimmering scales, and some possessed long dragon whiskers.
Every individual present bowed their heads and lowered their chests, kneeling in deep reverence upon the floor. They performed grand salutations toward the half-dragon, half-emperor figure seated upon the throne.
Within the vast expanse of the Dragon Hall, Mo Hua was the only person left standing.
Mo Hua stood at the base of the hall, peering up at the "Dragon Emperor" who looked down from his elevated seat.
Dressed in ceremonial robes patterned with dragons, the Dragon Emperor stared down at Mo Hua, his voice resonating with a deep, majestic weight:
"Since you stand before this emperor, why have you not knelt?"
Kneel?
Was he expected to drop to his knees the moment they met?
Mo Hua’s brow furrowed slightly in annoyance. Feeling a prickle of displeasure, he shot back: "What exactly are you? And why should I be kneeling to you?"
"Such insolence!" the Dragon Emperor roared in fury.
The shout crashed through the air like a thunderclap, reverberating throughout the Dragon Hall and triggering a chorus of dragon roars that shook the very foundations of the room.
The assembled ministers turned pale, trembling with intense fear.
However, even amidst this turbulent surge of Divine Thought power and the crushing weight of the dragon aura, Mo Hua remained entirely composed, his expression showing no signs of being moved.
The Dragon Emperor narrowed his eyes, studying Mo Hua for a long moment before speaking slowly:
"You... are not a royal descendant of my Great Wilderness?"
Mo Hua shook his head and answered truthfully: "I am not."
"If you do not carry the blood of the Great Wilderness royal family, then how did you gain entry to this Great Wilderness Dragon Hall?" The Dragon Emperor paused to reflect, his voice turning cold as he demanded, "Where did you obtain the Dragon Vein? And who acted as your guide?"
Mo Hua felt a flicker of confusion upon hearing those words, caught off guard by the question.
The Dragon Vein was indeed currently in his possession.
But... a guide?
Had someone actually led him here, making it possible for him to enter this Dragon Hall and encounter this exalted Dragon Emperor?
Who could it be?
Mo Hua’s frown deepened.
If he held the Dragon Vein, had a guide, and this dream-like Dragon Hall had been manifested, then that implied...
After a moment of thought, Mo Hua looked up and questioned the Dragon Emperor, "Is this the Heritage Taoist Field of the Great Wilderness?"
"It is," the Dragon Emperor replied in a somber tone.
Just as he suspected...
Mo Hua lifted his chin and asked him point-blank: "Will you be passing the legacy of the Great Wilderness down to me?"
A cold light flickered in the Dragon Emperor's eyes, his presence becoming even more imposing despite his lack of outward rage.
At his silent command, a dragon general clad in dragon-scale armor stepped forward. The warrior had emerald eyes with vertical pupils, thick brows, and long whiskers. He leveled a spear at Mo Hua, shouting a stern rebuke:
"Ignorant brat, what gall! Without the Great Wilderness bloodline, you actually dare to covet the sacred legacy of our royal house? How dare you be so bold?"
Mo Hua let out a cold snort. "I am conversing with your master. What right do you have to speak? You are nothing more than a sentry; how dare you interrupt us?"
The dragon general flew into an instant rage. "Impudent brat! You speak without the slightest bit of decorum. I shall slay you on behalf of His Majesty this instant!"
The general bowed toward the Dragon Emperor before turning back with murderous intent. Gripping his spear tightly, he leaped down from the dais and transformed into a dragon. The tip of his spear glowed with a chilling light as it lunged directly for Mo Hua’s face.
The force behind this spear strike was terrifying.
The shaft of the weapon was enveloped by the phantom of an Azure Dragon, which, combined with the burly frame of the golden-armored general, made him look like a descending celestial deity for a fleeting second.
Mo Hua merely sneered. He reached out a small hand and made a simple grasping motion, catching the formidable spear tip firmly in his palm.
The dragon shadow on the spear flickered wildly, radiating a lethal aura.
Yet Mo Hua’s hand, though small and fair, seemed to hold a power that could govern the heavens. He held the spear tip with such ease that the dragon general found himself unable to move an inch, no matter how much he struggled.
The dragon general's face twisted in shock. He began to circulate his Dragon Power, attempting to shift his technique.
But Mo Hua had already snapped his wrist. Utilizing his overwhelming Divine Thought power, he shattered the spear instantly before stepping in and delivering a sharp kick.
That seemingly effortless kick carried a staggering amount of force.
The dragon general was sent flying like a cannonball, smashed into the wall of the Dragon Hall. The sound of numerous bones shattering echoed through the room as he slumped to the floor, unconscious.
With nothing more than a twist and a single kick, the powerful dragon general had been completely neutralized by Mo Hua.
The ministers inside the hall were rattled, their faces pale with terror.
They had suspected that a youth this bold must have some sort of backing.
However, they never imagined he would be this powerful.
The elite general serving under the Dragon Emperor had been defeated in a single exchange.
Seated upon the throne, the dragon-headed Dragon Emperor also betrayed a hint of astonishment in his eyes.
To possess such bravery and strength at such a young age—if he could be recruited as a vassal under this emperor, he would undoubtedly elevate the glory of the Great Wilderness...
A look of deep contemplation entered the Dragon Emperor's eyes.
Mo Hua, however, looked back up and said to the Dragon Emperor, "If you have no intention of giving me the Great Wilderness legacy, then just let me leave."
He didn't truly want to stir up trouble, and he certainly had no desire to become an enemy of the Great Wilderness royals.
That royal line had a deep history, and with the Karma Dragon watching over them, there were likely countless hidden secrets; it was best to avoid provoking them if he could.
Furthermore, since this was only their first encounter, Mo Hua didn't want to push things too far.
As for that dragon general, if he hadn't been so arrogant and attacked first, Mo Hua wouldn't have kicked him away.
Even then, he had held back significantly.
If he hadn't, his current Divine Thought at the Core Formation level, combined with his pure golden Dao transformed body, would have pulverized the general with just a bit more effort.
It was better for both parties to simply let the matter drop.
The Dragon Emperor stared at Mo Hua, thinking for a long while before saying slowly, "You no longer wish for the legacy of my Great Wilderness?"
Mo Hua hesitated, then asked back, "Are you actually able to give it to me?"
The Dragon Emperor shook his head. "To inherit the legacy of the Great Wilderness, one must possess the bloodline of a true royal descendant, which is something you lack."
