Immortality Through Array Formations Chapter 2038 Chapter 975: Phenomenon (Part 3)
Previously on Immortality Through Array Formations...
After a brief silence, Mo Hua whispered without any intention of concealment: "Elder Master, I believe... I have achieved core formation..."
"Core formation?" Elder Master Xun was momentarily speechless. He looked at Mo Hua, who clearly still possessed only a Foundation Establishment Realm cultivation, with a look of utter confusion. "What sort of core are you referring to?"
Mo Hua replied softly, "My divine sense... it has formed a core."
A core formed of divine sense?
For a moment, Elder Master Xun stood frozen, unable to process the words.
Once the weight of Mo Hua’s statement finally registered, a cold shiver raced up to the crown of his head. His scalp tingled and his mind buzzed with shock, causing his voice to tremble slightly: "You... your divine sense... has reached core formation?"
Mo Hua gave an honest nod, feeling quite perplexed himself.
Did the ancestor not come here because he sensed my core formation? Why does he look so startled? Did he truly not know?
If that wasn't the reason, then why did he show up?
Elder Master Xun extended his own divine sense to meticulously inspect the mental ripples coming from Mo Hua. He realized that this divine sense was far more concentrated, pure, and profound than any he had encountered before. It had undergone a "substantial" transformation, which finally proved the truth.
It really was... divine sense core formation!!
The breath caught in Elder Master Xun’s throat, and his hand, hidden within his sleeve, shook slightly.
Standard core formation was not a rare sight; every year, numerous disciples of the Taixu Gate attained the Golden Core. For an ordinary cultivator, reaching the Golden Core is the most significant hurdle of their existence.
However, in the eyes of a Heaven Void Ancestor who had lived for centuries or even millennia, a Golden Core was merely the starting point. He had seen so many Golden Core cultivators throughout his life that he had lost count.
But... to achieve divine sense core formation while still in the Foundation Establishment Realm?!
This was an entirely different matter...
Not only in his own lifetime, but even across the thousands of years of Taixu Gate’s history—or even looking back ten thousand years into the records of the Three Sects—such a feat was unheard of!
Since divine sense cannot be directly cultivated, its strength is usually dictated by one's cultivation realm. Generally, having a divine sense one rank higher than one's realm marks a genius. Surpassing it by two or three ranks is considered impossible.
Yet now, Mo Hua had leaped across an entire major realm!
This gap between major realms was not a simple increase in patterns; it represented a disparity far greater than just doubling one's power. Even to a Heaven Void Ancestor, the thought was terrifying.
Though he knew Mo Hua was gifted in the Dao of divine sense, he had never dared to imagine a breakthrough of this magnitude.
Elder Master Xun gazed at Mo Hua, noting his luminous eyes and overflowing divinity, which seemed to hold a deep understanding of the world’s mysteries. These traits combined to make the boy appear like a pure-hearted demon, a youthful god, and an enlightened monster all at once.
At that moment, even Elder Master Xun began to doubt Mo Hua’s very "species."
Is this truly the talent of a "human" being...?
"It seems Taixu Gate has truly fostered an incredible 'Little Ancestor' this time..." Elder Master Xun thought, reeling from the shock.
"Ancestor, is something the matter?" Mo Hua asked, still appearing confused.
Seeing the boy's reaction, Elder Master Xun realized that Mo Hua did not grasp the gravity of what had happened. This situation was likely even more dangerous than he had first thought.
"Exactly when did your divine sense form a core?" Elder Master Xun questioned him sternly.
"Just a moment ago..."
"Does anyone else know?"
Mo Hua shook his head.
Elder Master Xun let out a breath of relief before speaking in a profoundly serious tone:
"You must never speak of this to anyone. Remember this strictly: do not tell a single soul! Even if people suspect something, you must deny it completely. You must never admit to it!"
To have a divine sense core while at the Foundation Establishment level was a total defiance of the known Laws of the Heavenly Dao. If this news were to spread, it would cause an upheaval in the cultivation world, drawing the greedy eyes of every major power.
He would face envy, betrayal, manipulation, and assassination. He might be kidnapped, imprisoned, or dragged into a massive conspiracy that would bring ruin upon him. It was even possible he would be captured and treated like a specimen, dissected for research...
The mere thought sent a chill through Elder Master Xun’s heart.
Mo Hua, finally sensing the danger, nodded with a solemn expression.
"Keep this secret well. Never bring it up."
"I understand!"
Seeing that Mo Hua finally understood the risks, Elder Master Xun felt a bit more at ease. Then, a new thought occurred to him: "Did any strange phenomenon occur when your divine sense formed its core?"
"A phenomenon?" Mo Hua knit his brows. "What kind of phenomenon?"
He was genuinely unaware of anything unusual.
Elder Master Xun frowned, feeling uncertain. The image of the radiant golden light and the massive divine tree that had filled the sky lingered in his mind. He wondered to himself:
"Could that vision of the giant golden tree have been an anomaly caused by Mo Hua’s core formation?"
"It seems impossible... a simple core formation shouldn't produce such a majestic sight..."
"However, forming a divine sense core during Foundation Establishment is so 'deviant' that it sits outside the norms of the Heavenly Dao. From that perspective, it’s not entirely out of the question..."
"I wonder if Mo Hua really caused that anomaly..."
Noticing that Mo Hua was just as clueless as he was, Elder Master Xun sighed softly.
"Never mind. Regardless of the cause, we must find a way to hide it. We cannot allow any suspicion to linger."
Elder Master Xun regained his composure and acted as though nothing was wrong. "It's nothing; I was merely asking out of curiosity."
"Oh." Mo Hua nodded, not dwelling on the matter.
"Remember my warning. Don't worry too much and get some rest," Elder Master Xun advised once more.
"Yes, Elder Master, I have taken your words to heart," Mo Hua answered seriously.
"Good."
Elder Master Xun gave a slight nod and a long look at Mo Hua before his form blurred, and he vanished from the Disciple's Residence.
With a flash of a void rift, Elder Master Xun returned to his own quarters. Before he could even sit down, a visitor arrived.
It was the Sect Leader of Taixu Gate.
"Ancestor, there appeared to be a strange anomaly in the heavens just now..." The Taixu Sect Master said with a frown.
Elder Master Xun’s heart skipped a beat, but he replied without showing any emotion, "What exactly did you observe?"
"There seemed to be streaks of golden light in the sky, along with some strange, fragmented patterns..." the Sect Master explained.
Realizing they hadn't seen the full extent of the vision, Elder Master Xun exhaled slowly. After a moment of thought, he said:
"There was indeed a minor disturbance, but it was nothing significant and has been handled. Instruct the Elders who witnessed it not to worry, but ensure they do not spread word of it."
Don't be alarmed, but don't talk about it?
The Taixu Sect Master found the instruction strange, but since it came from the Ancestor, he assumed there was a hidden reason he wasn't permitted to know. He replied, "Understood, I will inform them."
"Very well," Elder Master Xun nodded.
"Then I shall leave the Ancestor to his peace." The Sect Master bowed and departed.
Elder Master Xun sat down and poured a cup of tea, but before he could take a sip, more guests arrived. The air filled with the sharp sound of tearing space.
Three void rifts suddenly tore open in his living room. The Ancestors from the Tai’a Sect and the Rushing Void Sect, along with Taixu Gate’s own Murong Ancestor, all burst in at once.
Their voices overlapped in a chaotic blur.
"Brother Xun... did I just see things because I stood up too fast?"
"I'm certain I saw a massive tree."
"That golden radiance was blinding..."
"A world-level anomaly... this is absurd..."
Elder Master Xun sighed as a headache began to form. The Taixu Sect Master was a junior with only a Feather Transformation cultivation; his vision was limited and he was easy to mislead. These old men, however, were all at the Heaven Void level. They had seen everything clearly, and with their centuries of experience and cunning, they would not be easily fooled.
Mo Hua really did have a talent for causing massive trouble...
