Immortality begin with Alchemy Grandmaster Chapter 2761 - 1020: Old Affairs of the West Desert, True Master of the Giant House (Part 2)
Previously on Immortality begin with Alchemy Grandmaster...
Luo Chen offered a silent smile.
Deng Taiyue continued to introduce Luo Chen to the Great Elder of the East Sun Sect, shaking his head.
"He reached Late Stage Nascent Soul in his early years, and logically, he should have participated in the Human and Demon War. However, throughout the two hundred years of conflict, he remained absent. It is said that he seized this chance to perfect his Merit, reaching Nascent Soul Finalization, becoming the only cultivator in the Eastern Wasteland to achieve this feat!"
Nascent Soul Finalization?
A flicker of interest crossed Luo Chen’s lips.
He casually inquired, "Does the Great Elder of the East Sun Sect possess any well-known battle achievements?"
Deng Taiyue appeared taken aback. "That is indeed a question that stumps me."
Luo Chen frowned slightly. "Then are there any instances of his actions that were witnessed by many?"
After some thought, Deng Taiyue responded, "There are a few, but they weren't exactly life-or-death confrontations. Not long ago, during an auction I hosted, the newly ascended Great Cultivator Jiuling Yuanjun eagerly exchanged a move with the Great Elder of the East Sun Sect."
"And the outcome?" Luo Chen's expression turned curious.
"Jiuling Yuanjun was defeated, his strength was found to be slightly inferior," Deng Taiyue replied.
The scant information left Luo Chen feeling less than satisfied.
"But later, at a private gathering, Jiuling Yuanjun seemed rather displeased with the result of their brief exchange. He openly stated that if it had been a fight for survival, the victor would still be uncertain."
This added detail allowed Luo Chen to grasp the situation better.
At the very least, when he had tested his strength against the newly ascended Great Cultivator Jiuling Yuanjun, Jiuling Yuanjun had wholeheartedly admitted his defeat.
Conversely, the Great Elder of the East Sun Sect had defeated Jiuling Yuanjun in a single move, yet the latter remained unconvinced, suggesting the gap between them was not overwhelmingly significant.
"It appears this individual excels in cultivation but is less adept in spell battles," Luo Chen surmised.
Deng Taiyue inquired with curiosity, "Do you intend to eliminate him?"
Luo Chen countered, "Didn't you mention he wouldn't be swayed by the Ti Hu Pill to become an ally?"
Deng Taiyue nodded. "Indeed. After the Dark Abyss Sect's demise, he immediately pledged allegiance to the Tianyuan Daoist Sect. Even now, with the main forces of the Tianyuan Daoist Sect having departed the Eastern Wasteland, he still represents the Daoist Sect in collecting tributes from the various Great Sects. Rumors suggest he aims to replicate the former Star Gate system of the Daoist Sect and join them, in exchange for the Tianyuan Daoist Sect's promise to assist him in reaching the God Transformation Realm. Therefore, the Ti Hu Pill would have little influence over him."
The Ti Hu Pill merely offered a chance to prematurely grasp the Law’s True Intent and accelerate one's cultivation.
While comprehending the Law’s True Intent greatly aided future advancement towards the God Transformation Realm, the most critical requirement for actual breakthrough was not the Law’s True Intent, nor the Primordial Spirit, but rather a Fifth Order Spiritual Land!
Such territories were exclusively under the control of the Holy Land within the Mountain Sea Realm.
If, one day, Luo Chen could manage to resurrect Yanfu Mountain, which lay buried within the Nether Abyss, he too would gain the opportunity to control a Fifth Order Spiritual Land.
In truth, this was also why Deng Taiyue was so responsive to Luo Chen; he had indeed seen Yanfu Mountain and knew that Luo Chen possessed the Ming Water Spring Eye, which qualified him to reignite Yanfu Mountain.
Should he eventually reach that final crucial step, he too would desperately require a Fifth Order Spiritual Land.
At that juncture, the three pledges Luo Chen had made that day would become immensely valuable.
Similarly, he could comprehend why the Great Elder of the East Sun Sect would never accept any of Luo Chen's propositions.
The allure of achieving God Transformation was sufficient to overshadow all else!
Deng Taiyue hesitated for a moment before advising, "However, wouldn't eliminating him now alert our adversaries? If the Daoist Sect becomes wary, we genuinely wouldn't stand a chance."
Luo Chen chuckled. "You are correct; I have no immediate plans to act against him. But it is always necessary to meet him. Rather than waiting for them to approach me, I might as well pay a visit and assess the situation myself."
"Is that permissible?" Deng Taiyue expressed his concern.
Luo Chen sidestepped him, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Cease worrying about these matters. Next, you should utilize the Ti Hu Pill and the cultivation experiences and insights I've provided to diligently cultivate! You must achieve comprehension of the Law’s True Intent!"
Luo Chen replaced his hood, stepped into the air, and vanished into the darkness of the night.
After his departure, the stone spirit, bathed in moonlight, resumed its beastial form.
A deep voice resonated, "Master Taiyue, that individual should absolutely not be made an enemy!"
Deng Taiyue responded with a helpless sigh, "I am already aware of his might. Without comprehending the True Intent of a Law, I am certainly not his equal."
The Stone Guardian let out a growl, "No, even if you achieve a breakthrough, do not even consider antagonizing him."
Deng Taiyue's brow furrowed as he looked at his own stone spirit in utter bewilderment.
The Stone Guardian drew a deep breath, its eyes brimming with profound fear.
"The sensation I received from him is no less potent than that of a Divine Transformation Great Power."
Deng Taiyue was astonished, "Is it truly that extreme?"
...
"Master, that stone spirit is quite intriguing. Why not take it with us?"
Bai Meiling, piloting the Frost Eagle Shuttle, inquired with curiosity about the entity known as Stone Guardian from earlier.
Luo Chen sighed wearily, "That is the mountain-guarding Stone Spirit. How could I possibly seize another's treasure?"
Bai Meiling let out an "Oh" and then added, "Yet, it seemed exceedingly fearful of you. A mere strand of your Qi Power caused it to revert to its original form."
Luo Chen replied with composure, "It naturally should be afraid of me! Spiritual beings also possess their own strengths and weaknesses. My Purple Mansion contains two formidable Fire Spirits, both of which are Fifth Order existences, comparable to Divine Transformation cultivators. A mere hint of my Breath is sufficient to instill terror in the Stone Guardian."
Understanding dawned upon Bai Meiling.
Not long ago, she too had witnessed the Nirvana Fire Spirit, a being of immense power, akin to a true Divine Beast Phoenix!
"Master, where shall we journey next? Should we proceed directly out to sea, or perhaps visit the East Sun Sect?"
"To the East Sun Sect. It lies on our path towards the sea anyway," Luo Chen stated casually, exhibiting no apparent concern about entering the sect that reigned supreme in the Eastern Wasteland, the Nascent Soul Sect.
Bai Meiling chuckled and accelerated the Frost Eagle Shuttle.
...
Several days later.
Within the premises of the East Sun Sect, Luo Chen proceeded calmly up a lengthy stone staircase.
Bai Meiling's voice, tinged with wonder, reached his ears.
"Master, the East Sun Sect is remarkably vibrant!"
Luo Chen gazed towards the sky, unable to suppress a similar sentiment; indeed, it had been an extensive period since he had witnessed such a bustling Sect.
Translucent streaks of light flickered across the sky as numerous cultivators soared onboard their Sword Control.
Within the verdant mountains and forests, fleeting shadows of individuals darted about.
Even on this stone staircase, which ascended towards the peak where the Guest Elder resided, disciples could be seen coming and going.
This level of activity was quite unusual among the Great Sects, which had experienced a significant attrition of talent during the two hundred years of the Human-Demon War.
However, considering that the East Sun Sect had largely abstained from direct combat over the past two centuries, save for dispatching the Shouyang Mountain Man and some lower-tier disciples, its current state seemed understandable.
Particularly after the cessation of the Human-Demon War, the East Sun Sect had assumed the mantle of collecting tributes from other prominent Sects within the Eastern Wasteland, thereby accumulating an unimaginable fortune.
In light of these circumstances, the East Sun Sect could rightfully be considered the preeminent sect in the Eastern Wasteland today!
It was merely a shame that such a prosperous East Sun Sect lacked any true autonomy.
Luo Chen advanced, seemingly unnoticed by the surrounding disciples.
Before long, he arrived before a tranquil courtyard.
Inside, two individuals were engaged in conversation.
"Who knows when we will be able to return to Zhongzhou!"
"What's so good about going back? The Sect is fractured, with various clans vying for power. The Patriarch himself has no interest in managing its affairs. Returning now means getting entangled in internal conflicts. Where else can one find peace, simply by collecting contributions and dedicating oneself to cultivation?"
"That might hold some truth, but didn't the Patriarch issue an edict to rigorously train a new generation of disciples? I had hoped to enroll my recently adult grandson, perhaps giving him a chance to become a True Disciple."
"Don't even entertain the thought. The prerequisites for this training program are exceptionally stringent; how many Spirit Roots does your grandson possess?"
"You speak the truth, never mind then. We should simply focus our cultivation here in the Eastern Wasteland, striving to reach the Middle Stage of Nascent Soul before considering a return. That way, we'll possess a stronger voice within the clan."
"Mere cultivation is insufficient. The Patriarch has dispatched word that we are to keep a close watch on Luo Chen."
"This Luo Chen individual..."
The discussion within the courtyard continued, encompassing topics far beyond the scope of a single region or a specific technique.
The two Nascent Soul True Masters conversed animatedly, touching upon a myriad of subjects.
It was not until the evening that one of them finally departed.
With the prior individual departed, the one left behind prepared to seal the courtyard's entrance using Qi Power. However, a figure draped in a black robe emerged from the shadows, stepping inside.
"Who dares trespass?" the remaining guardian inquired, irritation evident at the intruder's blatant disrespect. Then, the mysterious figure lowered its hood, unveiling a pair of eyes that shimmered with an otherworldly, multi-hued luminescence.
Beyond those captivating eyes, nothing else was discernible, leaving the guardian with no recalled features of the person. Only a voice, cutting through the confusion, reached his ears.
"Your name?" the voice commanded.
He stammered in reply, "Shi Chuanting."
A faint smirk touched the lips of the black-robed man. "Fortuitous indeed. A Nascent Soul True Master, no less, hailing from the prestigious Twelve Great Houses."
