Luo Chen awoke severely injured on the shore of Soulbreak Cliff by the Netherworld Sea, his body charred and his Nascent Soul withered after being swept away by the relentless turbid yellow waves. Recalling the ordeal, he had desperately burned his Qi Power through the Withering and Flourishing Divine Fire to resist the corrosive sea, exhausting his reserves and backfiring on his physical form. As he cautiously probed his dire state, suppressing his Divine Consciousness under an overwhelming force, he hoped the Black King had escaped the disaster.

Luckily, Luo Chen only needs a small amount of Qi Power.

Merely a tiny bit!

Just sufficient to activate the storage ring using that slight trace of Qi Power.

A glow flickered at his fingertip, and he retrieved a pill, slipping it softly into his mouth.

"Gulp."

Once the pill was swallowed, Luo Chen shut his eyes.

He refrained from actively processing it, allowing the pill's energy to gradually restore his body.

Moments ticked by slowly.

The vanished roar of the waves began to echo faintly in his ears once more.

Luo Chen couldn't bear to think what would happen if the murky waves of the Yellow Sea rushed back in his current condition, and what doom might await him.

As dawn broke.

A snapping noise rang out from within Luo Chen's body.

Chunks of blackened skin peeled away in large flakes from his form.

Luo Chen bolted upright abruptly.

"Phew..."

Releasing a breath of foul Qi, Luo Chen rose bare-bodied, without a moment to thank the stars that the Xuan Chen Armor wasn't on him, he backed away on instinct.

Crash!

The murky waves from the Yellow Sea rolled in fiercely, slamming against the sandy shore where he'd lain moments before.

The rhythmic rise and fall of the tides helped soothe Luo Chen's rattled nerves.

Following a night's recuperation, his robust physique, bolstered by incredible vitality, had wrung out a bit of Origin Force, enabling him to stir.

He stared warily at the murky ocean nearby, which appeared ready to engulf all in its path, and a sense of déjà vu stirred within him once again.

"Where exactly did I encounter or come across this scene's description before, in some ancient book?"

"Doesn't matter now—get out of here first!"

With a light touch to his ear, the Heavenly Stick appeared, and Luo Chen, leaning on it like a crutch, struggled to his feet.

Ignoring the murky sea behind him, he pivoted around.

Immediately, a sheer black cliff, sliced as if by a blade, loomed into view.

In that instant, every memory flooded back to Luo Chen.

In utter disbelief, he glanced back at the murky sea, his lips quivering as he forced out two names.

"Netherworld Sea!"

"Soulbreak Cliff!"

Whoo whoo...

A gust of sea wind swept across, leaving the sparsely dressed man standing solitary, propped on his stone staff, looking utterly insignificant against the vast sky and land.

...

Along the jagged mountain trail, Luo Chen trudged by himself.

Details of this Forbidden Area in the North Sea streamed through his thoughts like a gentle stream.

The North Sea stretches endlessly, brimming with innumerable deadly zones.

Thanks to the relentless efforts of the Human Clan, numerous hazardous spots have been tamed, serving now as defensive strongholds for mighty Sects.

Such as Beiji Yemo Tian, or Wu Zhong Valley.

Even Purple Spirit Island, hostile to all life, was claimed by Luo Chen and transformed into a garden for growing Purple Monkey Flowers.

Still, plenty of areas persist where cultivators dare not venture lightly, or must pay a heavy toll to probe.

Take the Oblivion Sea that Luo Chen had braved, or this very Soulbreak Cliff he's on now!

Legend tells that Soulbreak Cliff lies as a Forbidden Area far in the Demon Sea, first uncovered by a wandering cultivator in days gone by; afterward, the North Sea Sacred Land Yuan Mo Sect gathered Nascent Soul Stage and Golden Core Period powerhouses to delve inside, losing over half their number, earning it the grim title of "Soulbreak."

Later on, Yuan Mo Sect’s Soul Refining Elder braved Soulbreak Cliff himself and harvested vast treasures.

Yet it was probed only that one time, and he never returned there, right up until Yuan Mo Sect's fall.

A Forbidden Area like this, Luo Chen recalls with crystal clarity.

He had even observed it firsthand once.

The cause for forgetting it the night prior was that this observation wasn't through his own vision, but to flee from the Moon Independent Cultivator's pursuit, he employed the Soul Splitting Technique and peered via the Puppet’s Eye.

Afterward, upon achieving Nascent Soul on Longyuan Island, Luo Chen attempted to reverse the path and catch a view of the Netherworld Sea and Soulbreak Cliff.

Regrettably, during the way back, he found no gains.

It was precisely then that Luo Chen learned the Netherworld Sea doesn't stay put in one spot, and Soulbreak Cliff shifts with it.

This marks a wandering Forbidden Area!

"Was it that I collided with the drifting Soulbreak Cliff, leading to my engulfment by the Netherworld Sea?"

Halfway up the dark cliff face, Luo Chen panted heavily, peering down below with a wry grin.

No way it could be that unlucky, right!

Though the sole plausible reason probably boils down to this.

A fixed Netherworld Sea might at worst lead to oversight; with caution, one could steer clear.

But a drifting Netherworld Sea moves at unpredictable speeds.

Particularly then, as the Black King followed Luo Chen’s command and darted rapidly, smashing straight into it.

One more troubling aspect, from what Luo Chen knows, Soulbreak Cliff holds profound eeriness; souls pulled in grow dazed, powerless to fight back, allowing the Netherworld Sea to consume them.

Nevertheless, though he failed to flee then, he somehow held out to a degree.

"Does it stem from my potent Divine Soul Endowment? Or maybe the Prison Soul Suppression Technique kept working, safeguarding this final spark of life?"

Luo Chen doesn't deem himself all that capable.

In a haunt like this, even Divine Transformation Great Powers hesitate to step in bodily; mere Divine Soul Endowment alone couldn't endure so long.

Utterly baffling!

Luo Chen cast another look at the boundless gloomy sea in the distance, letting out a quiet sigh.

Youli Divine Monarch, prior to Ascension, had cautioned him of a major disaster striking unforeseen in times ahead.

Was crashing into the Netherworld Sea, returning the soul to Soulbreak Cliff, that very calamity?

Far too sudden!

Not even able to rouse the lingering Calamity Gu aura on the Primordial Chaos Tripod!

"It's wiser to seek a secure spot and heal up first!"

Stepping over tough stone, Luo Chen pressed forward, distancing himself from the Netherworld Sea.

...

With night descending once more, the tide's murmur grew distant in his hearing.

Luo Chen halted before a cavern carved out by a massive boulder.
