Deng Shentong confronts Amber, deducing her ability to evoke goodwill and prevent hostility. After some hesitation, Amber reveals she is a slave to the cruel Wandering Phantom and wishes to escape. Seeing Deng Shentong's determination to defeat Wandering Phantom, she offers to guide him in exchange for his help.

The center of Ice Flower Swamp.

A blizzard wildly spiraled overhead, yet it couldn’t affect a small lake-island in the core area below.

The biting frost couldn’t approach this place. The island wasn’t large—only a Gothic villa stood upon it.

It was noon, but the sky was still cold and clear. A thin, pale sun cast its bleak rays, unable to dispel even a trace of the freezing chill from this apocalypse of extreme cold.

A man in a red cloak slowly walked to the edge of the lake-island.

He was exceptionally tall, standing nearly two meters high, and his fiery red hair was slicked back into a glossy pompadour, seemingly styled with the freshest blood.

Close behind him followed two attendants, both wearing skull masks that covered half their faces.

This red-haired man was Wandering Phantom, the lord of Ice Flower Swamp.

With one hand, he elegantly swirled a wine glass before pouring the thick, crimson liquid into his mouth.

“The quality of today’s blood is a bit lacking.”

Frowning, he coldly addressed the attendant behind him.

One of the attendants immediately bowed. “This batch of livestock has been donating blood for two months now, so the quality has dropped. We’ll find some new ones to replace them.”

Wandering Phantom nodded. “Get it done quickly. Without quality fresh blood, my throat feels terrible.”

He placed his wine glass on the tray held by the attendant, then walked to the lake’s edge and crouched down.

Here, the lake water hadn’t frozen.

Even the surrounding air temperature hovered around zero degrees.

Though not exactly pleasant or comfortable, it was undoubtedly a haven of purity in this frozen world.

Wandering Phantom dipped his right hand into the lake water and gently swirled it for a while.

Suddenly, his expression turned icy cold, and a faint, chilling smile curled at the corner of his mouth.

“Ice Flower Swamp seems to have some guests arriving!”

His personally raised giant crocodiles hadn’t given him any response, and that alone confirmed the arrival of enemies.

“Go and receive him.”

Wandering Phantom spoke to the two attendants behind him.

A cold killing intent flickered in their eyes.

“Yes, Master!”

“Shwoosh!”

In an instant, the two vanished from their spot, their movements as ghostly as specters.

Wandering Phantom stood up, shook the water off his hand, and gazed into the distance.

“This time’s prey seems a bit interesting! I wonder how delicious his flesh and blood will be?”

As he spoke, a glint of excitement passed through his eyes, and he instinctively stuck out his scarlet tongue to lick his lips.

Deng Shentong and Amber walked step by step toward the center of Ice Flower Swamp.

As he walked, he placed palm-sized, dark silver disks here and there across the swamp.

Those were bombs with very high yield, powerful enough to blast the entire Ice Flower Swamp apart.

The current Deng Shentong was no longer the green rookie of years past.

He remained confident in himself, but he also acted with more caution, knowing he had to secure more victories to prove his strength and maintain the Deng family’s standing in the Jiangnan Region.

Before long, the two passed through layers of snow and mist, and the vague outline of a grand villa appeared ahead.

But Deng Shentong stopped in his tracks.

Amber halted behind him and asked, “Why did you stop?”

“Because someone’s coming.”

Amber cautiously peered forward from behind him.

Through the hazy snow and mist, she saw two figures slowly approaching.

A man and a woman, both clad in black-and-white combat suits, wearing skull masks.

Behind each of them was a very long sword strapped to their backs!

“Be careful! They’re Wandering Phantom’s two top guards—their strength is unfathomable!”

Amber looked at Deng Shentong and warned him cautiously.

Deng Shentong nodded faintly.

Then he gave her a gentle smile. “Stand back a bit. I’ll handle this.”

Amber obediently ran to the rear.

The two guards spotted Deng Shentong and Amber retreating, and a cold sneer emerged in their eyes.

“Those Wandering Souls are such trash—they can’t even handle such a small matter! But since you’ve come to us, that saves us a lot of trouble.”

Deng Shentong smiled as he looked at them.

“Where’s Wandering Phantom?”

The two guards let out cold laughs.

“A dead man doesn’t need to ask so many questions!”

With that, they simultaneously drew their long swords from their backs, one on the left and one on the right, crossing their blades.

Then, they both rotated their wrists, the two swords pressing together and beginning to spin and grind with a clattering noise.

The blades screeched harshly as they walked toward Deng Shentong, their swords spinning faster and faster.

Deng Shentong squinted at them, his right hand resting on the hilt of his sword, Griffith.

The guards’ pace quickened, and the grinding rotation of their swords sped up to the point where sparks could be seen flying from between the blades!

By the end, the two swords merged together, spinning like two massive windmills!

Their movements had also become as swift as phantoms, leaving only blurry afterimages!

Whoosh—

A fierce wind howled as they charged straight at Deng Shentong from both sides, their long swords already radiating intense heat.

When they reached Deng Shentong, they suddenly crossed past him—one aiming for his head, the other for his legs!

Deng Shentong twisted his body nimbly in the air, executing a sideways roll to dodge both blades.

Even though he evaded the sword strikes, the sheer power of their edge still made him feel their terrifying force.

If he had been hit directly, even his Saintly Body Enhancement might have been damaged.

The next moment, a blazing holy light erupted from his body!

In an instant, white radiance became everything in this world.

The two guards’ vision turned to nothing but void, unable to see a thing.

Yet between them, it seemed an invisible bond connected them, allowing them to sense each other’s presence.

They were twins, trained for years to reach a state of perfect synchronization.

The sudden loss of sight made them uneasy, but as top-tier swordsmen, they could gauge their opponent’s position through other senses.

Their long swords clashed in midair, producing a metallic hum that echoed and reverberated.

Touching everything around them, the feedback traveled through the blades to their ears and bodies, revealing Deng Shentong’s location.

Though they couldn’t see anything, they still precisely judged Deng Shentong’s position and launched a dual-blade attack again!

But unexpectedly, this time, their strike hit nothing but air.

Deng Shentong appeared behind the male guard and slashed down with his sword in a single fierce blow!

At the brink of death, the guard unleashed incredible potential, twisting his body in midair with sheer force and raising his sword to block!

“Clang!”

The blades collided, and Deng Shentong’s sword directly carved a gap into the male guard’s blade!

The immense force sent him flying violently backward, bouncing off the ice more than a dozen times before he finally came to a stop!
