The Gatekeeper of the Underworld, after assessing his opponents, unleashes a devastating attack called 'Void Heaven's Mandate'. The attack devastates Tianshui City, forcing Zhang Yi and his companions to teleport away. Meanwhile, on another battlefield, Giant Blade taunts Black Emperor Chen Xuanba, while Liang Yue and Huahua await their moment to enter the fray.

The powerful energy fluctuations erupting in Tianshui City had drawn the attention of forces across the globe.

Although many forces were not directly involved in this war, their eyes were all fixed on the battlefield in the Huaxu Nation.

Since the apocalypse began, this was the largest war to take place on the surface, with humanity directly facing the Underground Civilization.

This battle would expose many things.

For example, the Huaxu Nation’s true strength.

And just how powerful the Underground Civilization really was.

This was all incredibly important intelligence, so they would rather stay up half the night than take their eyes off the battle.

Of course, it was still daytime on the other side of the planet.

Countless satellites were broadcasting the battle in real time. They might not be able to see everything happening on the battlefield clearly, since the three major powers, the Huaxu Nation, Colombia, and Freemonts, would never allow that.

But they only needed to survey the energy fluctuations in the area to judge the general state of the battle from the data.

The terrifying energy erupting in Tianshui City was comparable to that of a small or medium-sized Love of Death.

The sheer power of it made Pope Alexander X of the Orthodox Church, who was currently in the Vatican, look grave.

“Have those heretics from the underground world really grown this powerful? If they continue their invasion, they may interfere with the Orthodox Church’s great plan!”

Alexander X wrinkled his hooked nose. Displeasure appeared on his deeply lined face.

Behind him, Cardinal Arnold Ollib held the Holy Canon and said respectfully, “But at this point, it seems too late to send support.”

Battles between top Transcendents could be over in no time.

Even if they flew over from the other side of the planet on the fastest aircraft right now, by the time they arrived, they would likely be too late to do anything.

They might even end up getting caught in the fight themselves.

“Oh, well, there’s nothing to be done. I only wanted to teach them a lesson in the first place. I didn’t expect things to turn out like this.”

Alexander X rubbed the bridge of his nose. Suddenly, he smiled.

“But I refuse to believe that a nation of the Huaxu Nation’s stature could be destroyed so easily!”

……

On a mysterious island in the middle of the ocean, a blizzard raged outside the windows. Inside, a roaring fire burned in the fireplace.

Montesquieu, chairman of the Eye organization, sat in his chair with a thick blanket over his legs, listening to a report from one of his subordinates.

Wilder Pratt, the Underking, described the abnormal energy fluctuations in Tianshui City and voiced his concerns.

“Both Houtu and Chaos are subjects of our investigation, but the enemies they’re facing in this battle are simply too powerful. It’s even possible that they’ll both perish in the fighting.”

Pratt cautiously looked toward Montesquieu, hoping his mentor would make a wise decision.

“Should we intervene?”

Montesquieu lowered his head and rubbed his rough fingers together. Perhaps the air had grown dry because the fireplace had been burning for so long.

“No. It’s not time for us to act yet.”

“If we reveal our strength in the open, those lackeys won’t make things easy for us.”

A trace of mockery appeared on his face. He looked down on the “lackeys” he spoke of, but showed little concern.

“But if they really lose, it’ll deal a serious blow to our Desecration Plan,” Pratt said, still worried.

Montesquieu slowly closed his eyes. Only after a long while did he open them again. Age had not clouded them. Instead, they shone with wisdom.

“They won’t be defeated so easily.”

“As one of the most powerful nations of humanity on this planet, if they were wiped out that easily, then humanity itself would deserve to disappear from this planet.”

Wilder Pratt fell silent for several seconds after hearing this, then said nothing more.

He felt that Montesquieu was right.

If even the Huaxu Nation could lose to the Underground Civilization, who would be able to withstand the apocalypse’s ever more brutal days to come?

……

Just one mountain range separated the Huaxu Nation from Brahmin, now the most populous nation in the world.

Naturally, they were watching everything happening in the Huaxu Nation just as closely.

At the beginning of the war, the Huaxu Nation had asked them for aid, hoping they would send a group of Transcendents to help.

But the Brahmin leadership, headed by the Eight Legions of Heavenly Gods, had rejected the request outright.

Given the special relationship between the two nations and their murky historical ties, the Huaxu Nation hadn’t made an issue of it at the time. It had simply taken note in silence.

Brahmin, however, had taken the matter to heart.

For many years, they had desperately hoped to surpass the Huaxu Nation and become the most powerful nation in Asia.

So, in their eyes, the Wuluan Empire’s invasion presented an excellent opportunity.

The Brahmin Alliance had long since fallen apart, with powerful factions controlling various regions and forming a loose alliance.

Still, just as the Huaxu Nation had its six major regions and Colombia had its many states, a supreme governing body made up of high-level Transcendents ruled here.

Muna City was the heart of this governing body.

Today, most of the leaders of the Eight Legions of Heavenly Gods, the most powerful organization in Brahmin, had gathered at Bahovara Temple in Muna City.

Everyone was present except Garuda, led by Gao Changkong.

Anand Sharma, Brahmin’s strongest warrior and the bearer of the title Indra, sat cross-legged atop the high altar in the temple. Bare-chested and barefoot, he wore sacred traditional garb. One powerful leg dangled over the side of the altar, while his solemn, majestic appearance resembled the true divine emperor depicted in a mural.

Below, on either side of him, the leaders of the Eight Legions sat cross-legged on cushions, apparently waiting for some news to arrive.

A Transcendent hurried in from outside the temple and prostrated himself before them.

“Heavenly Emperor! We’ve just received the latest intelligence. The fighting in Tianshui City has intensified. The Underground Civilization’s powerhouses are exceptionally strong, and the Huaxu Nation’s Transcendents may not be able to hold out.”

At this news, smiles of delight spread across the faces of the Eight Legions’ leaders. They exchanged glances and nodded in satisfaction.

Indra slowly opened his tightly shut eyes. “Oh? I didn’t expect the Underground Civilization to be so powerful. But that’s all the better. Once the Huaxu Nation has taken enough of a beating, they’ll have to give up the throne of Asia’s leading power!”

“From this day forward, our Brahmin will surpass them and become the guardian deity of this region!”

He raised both arms high, his eyes burning with fervor and devotion.
