The smile on Cadillus's face vanished in an instant.
"Are you trying to start a rebellion here?"
"You filthy creature from a disgusting race," he pointed at the Ultimate Evil Boy. "Don't think that just because I'm speaking to you in a human language, I see you as human!"
"If I feel like it, I can make your hypocritical race completely disappear from this planet!"
The moment Cadillus finished speaking, the atmosphere on-site turned incomparably grim.
The Transcendents of the Demon-Sealing Court suppressed their inner terror and braced themselves for combat.
On Cadillus's face, there was only a mocking, maniacal grin.
Behind him, the [Piercer] Yasin Canero, clad in black combat armor, silently unslung his sniper rifle.
Just as the tension reached its peak, both Cadillus and Canero felt a powerful oppressive force approaching from afar.
They completely ignored the others from the Demon-Sealing Court and turned their gazes in that direction. There, beneath the night sky, three figures shrouded entirely in black cloaks stood atop an iron tower.
They made no moves or words, their forms somewhat hazy. Simply appearing there, they exuded an immense pressure that weighed down on Cadillus and Canero—two Epsilon-class Transcendents!
"Hey, so, what's the situation here now?"
A smile crept back onto Cadillus's face. He cautiously retreated half a step, positioning himself so he could keep an eye on both the three cloaked figures and the Ultimate Evil Boy at the same time.
"Don't you get it yet? From now on, this place belongs to me! Don't come causing me trouble anymore!"
The Ultimate Evil Boy pointed his thumb at himself and laughed arrogantly.
Canero's voice came through his armor, a bit muffled and deep.
"You don't seriously think you can stand against us, do you?"
"Even if you have a few seemingly decent Transcendents, compared to the world's strongest nation, you're still fragile!"
"So, you still choose to be our enemy?"
As one of Colombia's most powerful naval fleets, the Ocean Fleet had launch authorization for high-yield Love of Death warheads.
If they wanted, they could destroy all of Edo City within a minute!
The Ultimate Evil Boy's gaze darkened, and he sneered. "If you want a fight to the death, I don't mind destroying you and the entire Colombia Ocean Fleet!"
Canero spoke slowly. "We're not enemies, so let's stop here!"
He put away his black sniper rifle.
"Whoever controls Neon doesn't matter to us. As long as you exist as Colombia's partner and help us manage the situation in the ocean region."
The Ultimate Evil Boy stared at him and said, word by word, "But from now on, you are not to meddle in Neon's internal affairs! Here, what I say goes!"
Cadillus laughed unpleasantly. "This kid is really cocky!"
His smile was dangerous—it was the same smile he always wore when killing people in the past.
Canero said, "He does have the capital to be cocky right now. Better to hold back, Captain. There's no need for us to clash with them here."
Canero gestured toward those three figures in the distance.
"We don't know what those guys really are. If we fight, we'll be the ones at a disadvantage."
Cadillus took a deep breath, then shot the Ultimate Evil Boy a fierce glare.
"Good boy! God bless you!"
After saying that, a viscous liquid substance materialized beneath his feet. Cadillus and Canero rode it and disappeared from Edo City.
On their way back, Canero immediately transmitted intelligence about the situation to the naval base.
"Neon Archipelago, Edo City. Mysterious Epsilon-class Transcendents discovered."
"Suspected presence of an unknown civilization."
Hearing Canero's voice, Cadillus, who was still seething with anger, let out a long, heavy sigh.
"Hey, Canero. You didn't get a good look at those guys either, so how can you be so sure they're from an unknown civilization?"
Canero explained calmly, "After the apocalypse, most of Neon's resource movements have been under our control. From a scientific standpoint, it's impossible for such powerful Epsilon-class Transcendents to appear out of nowhere."
"And based on the mysterious civilization contact events breaking out around the world, this is the most reasonable explanation."
...
The timeline now returns to Zhang Yi's return from the Southwest Region.
After advancing to the 20,000-point Black Chariot-tier, Zhang Yi's body underwent another subtle change.
The whispering at the edge of his ears during sleep had become more frequent, but he was gradually getting used to it.
Because he was slowly starting to feel that it wasn't some unknown threat from afar, but rather like listening to a natural voice emanating from the depths of his soul.
No one could explain this phenomenon—not even the knowledgeable Dr. Zhou Ke'er or the genius girl Yang Xinxin.
He did not slack off.
During his trip to the Nash Kingdom, he had absorbed the Essences of two top-tier Transcendents, Lie and Sambamu, and was now slowly digesting them, converting them entirely into his own power.
It wasn't just him. Every companion around him had also changed after witnessing the underground civilization firsthand.
They realized that even a primitive underground civilization possessed such terrifying power—enough to destroy an entire human kingdom.
So, there might be even more forces in this world capable of threatening their existence.
Thus, no one rested on their current achievements. Instead, they intensified their training.
Among them, one person surprised Zhang Yi the most.
That was Fatty Xu.
After returning from the Nash Kingdom, he seemed the same as before—still laughing and joking, acting as the carefree comic relief of the estate.
But whenever Uncle Yu dragged him to combat training, he never slacked off again. In fact, he even secretly added extra practice on his own.
Zhang Yi cared deeply about everyone around him—half out of the friendship built over more than two years, and half out of his habitual caution. He disliked having any uncertain factors around him, especially people.
So Zhang Yi specifically sought out Fatty Xu and casually asked him why he was doing this.
Fatty Xu, upon hearing this, just smiled naively and scratched his head.
"Actually, it's because of a Three-Eyed clansman I met just once."
"He was an old man who had studied his whole life. All he wanted was to follow us and see the outside world."
"But he died, right in front of my eyes."
Fatty Xu took a deep breath and forced his head up. His eyes seemed a bit red.
"I kept thinking, maybe if I had been stronger back then, he wouldn't have died. And if I ever face a situation like that again, how will I protect the people around me?"
Fatty Xu turned his head to look at Zhang Yi.
"Boss, I don't want to be a burden. I can't rely on you for everything and just be a useless waste. So, I want to gain the power to protect myself and the people around me!"
