Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies Chapter 1475: [Extra] Deng Shentong Fifteen
Previously on Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies...
The Wandering Phantom transformed directly into an Abyssal Giant Crocodile and lunged straight at Deng Shentong.
That enormous maw seemed like an abyss, swallowing Deng Shentong from top to bottom in an instant!
Deng Shentong pushed Saintly Body Enhancement to its limit, forming an indestructible layer of defense over his body.
Boom!
The Wandering Phantom swallowed him in one gulp, then plummeted straight down beneath the ice!
Once dragged into the swamp, that was his territory! Without solid footing, Deng Shentong would fall into a massive disadvantage.
At this moment Deng Shentong braced his sword between the crocodile’s crushing jaws, desperately struggling against the beast.
But the Wandering Phantom’s strength was simply overwhelming. The crocodile’s bite force was terrifyingly powerful, and even Deng Shentong struggled to resist.
With just one strike, Deng Shentong could gauge the Wandering Phantom’s power.
At minimum, it had to be an existence above 9,800 points! This realization shocked Deng Shentong to his core.
How could this be? Outside Blizzard City, how could there be such a powerful being!
Could there be more monsters like Zhang Yi?
Blizzard City controlled the Jiangnan Region’s richest resources.
Aside from the monster Zhang Yi, other Transcendents had difficulty resisting Blizzard City and were even forced to give up their territories and resources.
That’s why Blizzard City kept growing stronger, while the Dissidents had to survive in the cracks, making it hard for extremely powerful individuals to appear.
Even someone like Judge Lu had been a powerful Transcendent who defected from Blizzard City.
But how could a being like the Wandering Phantom—so beyond ordinary rules—come into being?
Only now did Deng Shentong realize he had misjudged the situation, greatly underestimating the difficulty of his mission!
But there was no time to think, because the Wandering Phantom had bitten him and plunged into the frigid swamp!
The combat suit switched into diving mode. Deng Shentong poured all his strength into holding the crocodile’s jaws open with his sword.
Boom!!
He drove his sword straight at the Wandering Phantom’s upper jaw!
The blade Griffith struck flesh as hard as granite, but could not pierce through; even with all his force it only sank a few dozen centimeters!
Yet that degree of injury was merely a pinprick to the Wandering Phantom.
It continued to carry him deeper underwater.
Its body was enormous—hundreds of meters long! Half a street in length. If one didn’t see it head-on, it was impossible to imagine how terrifying this creature truly was!
Deng Shentong felt tiny, like a scrap of meat caught between its teeth.
The violent current wrapped him, battering his body and making it impossible to steady his stance to exert force.
He looked up toward the top, the crocodile’s throat.
If the outside is so solid, then the innards must be very soft!
Deng Shentong made up his mind, pulled his sword free and tried to swim against the current, to force his way into the Wandering Phantom’s body and shred its entrails!
But the next moment a crimson light erupted from deep within the throat, instantly forming a surging torrent aimed straight at Deng Shentong!
Deng Shentong’s face changed, “This is bad!”
Inside the Wandering Phantom’s mouth he could not dodge the attack; all he could do was expand Saintly Body Enhancement to its maximum, turning it into a silver light shield before him.
Boom!!!
The crimson energy beam slammed into his shield. The Wandering Phantom opened its huge mouth; the red column of light pierced the whole Ice Flower Swamp, shattering the surrounding ice for kilometers into countless fragments.
Amber lay curled on a slab of ice, trembling.
She bowed her head. Even through the thick ice she could still see the Wandering Phantom’s massive, terrifying form.
She clenched her teeth and prayed silently.
Now, she could only place all her hope on Deng Shentong.
At this moment Deng Shentong was still sinking underwater.
His misjudgment of the Wandering Phantom’s strength had put him at a huge disadvantage from the very start.
Being inside the Ice Flower Swamp was the Wandering Phantom’s home ground, allowing it to push its abilities to the limit.
But Deng Shentong was no longer the arrogant young man he used to be.
Great Sumeru Illusion!
After being spat from the Wandering Phantom’s mouth, he immediately activated his ability.
White light burst from the depths of the swamp like a sun leaping over the horizon, its brilliance enveloping everything around.
What the Wandering Phantom saw was no longer real but an illusion Deng Shentong had imposed.
Facing the false vision, the Wandering Phantom opened its massive jaws and, in a bone-chilling posture, bit down hard!
That strike could cleave a skyscraper in half!
Deng Shentong’s illusion vanished; his true body swam behind the Wandering Phantom and drove his sword viciously into its neck!
Saintly light cloaked him, suffusing Griffith with radiance that condensed into a razor-sharp blade extending tens of meters, plunging downward!
Sput!
The sword tip struck the Wandering Phantom’s neck, but the tough, ridged back was so hard it would not pierce at first!
Deng Shentong gritted his teeth and increased his output.
Finally, with a ripping sound, the blade tore through the Wandering Phantom’s skin, but thick bone armor still blocked it from within.
Beneath the creature’s thick hide lay a layer of heavy bone plating covering its entire body.
Those two layers of defense were so strong they bordered on despair!
In a way, the Wandering Phantom was like Zhang Yi—both lacked a sense of security and thus took every measure to protect themselves.
By now Deng Shentong was exhausted. The Wandering Phantom, recovering awareness, suddenly convulsed under the water; its tens-of-meters-long tail swept across, striking Deng Shentong!
Rumble!
The currents surged wildly beneath the surface, the entire swamp trembling.
Deng Shentong instinctively knew that if he were hit directly by the giant crocodile, even with the combat suit’s protection he would suffer heavy injuries.
So he used the suit’s propulsion system to decisively withdraw.
Quickly, Deng Shentong shot out of the water.
Amber lifted her head and looked at the man in silver armor.
Deng Shentong pulled her into his arms, “This place is too dangerous. I’ll take you to safety first!”
He had already realized the Wandering Phantom was an absolutely formidable enemy.
So his priority was ensuring Amber’s safety.
Amber replied, “You don’t need to worry about me. He won’t kill me. But only if you kill him can I gain true freedom.”
Deng Shentong did not have time to answer.
From beneath the water came a thunderous roar.
The monster—so unimaginably huge—burst from the water. Its abyssal maw aimed at the two of them and snapped down fiercely!
Its speed was too quick, and Deng Shentong again fell into the giant crocodile’s mouth.
Holding Amber with one arm and his sword with the other, he fought desperately to resist the crocodile’s crushing jaws.
“You said he would never kill you,” Deng Shentong looked at Amber in his arms and, surprisingly, teased with a smile.
But Amber could see it: the hand holding the sword was clearly straining, already struggling to hold.
