Zhang Yi and Hua Hua's coordinated assault, amplified by Zhang Yi's new "Swamp of Time" ability, overwhelms the Lord of the Charnel Ground. After shattering his Buddha Heart and inflicting severe injuries, Zhang Yi spares him, revealing he has fulfilled his promise. He then entrusts the Lord of the Charnel Ground's fate to his twin brother, Luozhuo, the leader of the resistance army, who emerges from hiding to confront him.

The Lord of the Charnel Ground had completely sunk into his own world, standing in the empty room with vacant eyes.

Not long after, the door opened.

Luozhuo walked in.

He saw the Lord of the Charnel Ground standing there like a zombie.

“Jue Guo.”

He called out softly.

The Lord of the Charnel Ground’s world had already fallen pitch black. His ears faintly caught a familiar voice; he remembered that voice—it came from his twin brother, Luozhuo.

But at this moment, he was immersed in his inner demons and unwilling to come out.

The outside world was filled with despicable lies and betrayals. There was nothing trustworthy, nothing worth clinging to.

He didn’t respond to Luozhuo’s call. Instead, he sat on the ground, hugging his knees like a helpless child.

Suddenly, light appeared before his eyes.

It was something that made him uncomfortable, because the Lord of the Charnel Ground wanted to completely hide himself away. Darkness was his protective coloration.

It was Luozhuo who had appeared.

The Lord of the Charnel Ground raised his head and gazed at Luozhuo. The massive black hole in his chest still continuously oozed liquid, completely defiling his entire world.

“You’re here.”

The Lord of the Charnel Ground’s voice was devoid of emotion.

“I’m here.”

Luozhuo nodded.

“Come to take my Divine Entity?”

The Lord of the Charnel Ground lowered his head. “That’s right. I’m no longer qualified to be the Lord of the Charnel Ground now. You coming is the right call. Maybe... maybe they chose the wrong person from the start.”

“It should have been you who went to Sangha Monastery. I should have stayed home, helped Mom and Dad herd the sheep.”

“I shouldn’t have become the Lord of the Charnel Ground.”

He buried his head deep into his knees.

“Go ahead, take what you want. I have nothing left to lose now.”

Luozhuo walked up to the Lord of the Charnel Ground, looking down at this utterly weakened young monk.

This was his older brother. This was once the glorious Lord of the Charnel Ground.

But now, he was just a naked, skinny, pale young monk.

Luozhuo bent down and embraced his twin brother.

“Brother, have you forgotten? Everything is karma, everything is fate’s arrangement. There are no accidental outcomes.”

While Zhang Yi was fighting the Lord of the Charnel Ground, the others who had been banished to different parts of the palace weren’t idle either.

Whether by design or coincidence, some people encountered each other in different areas.

Fatty Xu’s heart was in deep pain right now.

His combat strength was at the very bottom of Zhang Yi’s team.

And now, he had been banished to a strange place, completely alone, unable to contact any team members.

He could only cautiously hold his gun and carefully search for a way out.

But as the saying goes, whatever you fear will come to find you.

As he passed through a doorway, he suddenly spotted a figure.

It wasn’t one of his team members—it was Agravain, the Shining Knight of the Knights of the Round Table.

She was a girl with silver shoulder-length hair, wearing a silver combat suit, and she seemed to be searching for her companions as well.

Hearing the door open, her body immediately tensed up. She quickly drew her gun, spun around, and aimed it at Fatty Xu.

“Who’s there!”

Fatty Xu’s legs went weak.

“Damn it! I actually ran into someone from another team here! These guys are all over 9000 on the superhuman ability index. Am I going to die here?”

Fatty Xu’s face turned pale, his expression completely blank.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to run—it was that fear had frozen his legs.

But little did he know, Agravain across from him was even more panicked inside.

Because Agravain was a healing-type superhuman. Her own combat power wasn’t strong at all.

So the two of them just stared at each other, both terrified out of their minds.

Fatty Xu had a sudden flash of inspiration. He figured there was no way he could beat her in a fight, so he might as well pretend to be super strong and scare her off. Maybe that way he could save his skin.

So he curled his lips and said coolly, “I’ve never liked it when someone points a gun at my head.”

“Or do you really think that little toy would work on me?”

Fatty Xu’s words actually managed to intimidate Agravain.

Her pistol was just for self-defense. Against a powerful superhuman, it was practically useless.

She frowned and slowly lowered her gun.

“Are you one of Chaos’s superhumans?”

Seeing that she hadn’t seen through his true strength, Fatty Xu breathed a huge sigh of relief.

He clasped his hands behind his back and said casually, “Strictly speaking, I’m Chaos’s number one warrior!”

Agravain’s expression darkened. Her muscles all tensed up, assuming a combat stance.

Fatty Xu quickly said, “Relax. I’ve always respected women, and I’m certainly not going to bully you here.”

He raised his chin, wearing a look of disdain. “If I were to make a move, it would only be against your leader.”

Hearing this, Agravain inwardly relaxed as well.

“You really are a gentleman.”

“Hah, of course. A strong person should have the bearing of a strong person.”

Fatty Xu waved his hand casually. “You go on ahead. This place is dangerous. Take care of yourself.”

Having finished his act, Fatty Xu planned to slip away.

But Agravain also realized it was dangerous to be alone. She was moved by Fatty Xu’s gentlemanly demeanor and immediately said, “Sir, please wait!”

Fatty Xu’s steps froze.

What the hell? Did she see through me?

“Is there something?”

Agravain thought for a moment, then bit her lip and said, “Sir, you’re a gentleman. I was wondering... could we move together?”

“After all, we’re both the same kind. Even if we belong to different factions, right now our biggest enemy is the Tri-Eyed Clan, isn’t it?”

Fatty Xu was dumbfounded.

Huh?

Is she trying to latch onto me?

Fatty Xu desperately wanted to refuse, but Agravain had already approached him with a sincere look on her face.

She was very beautiful. Though she was a Western beauty, she didn’t have that exaggerated figure.

Being a healing-type superhuman, she gave off a soft, vulnerable vibe that made you want to protect her.

Her silver hair, her sea-blue eyes, her delicate, almost translucent skin—all of it stirred up a protective instinct in Fatty Xu’s inner otaku.

“Since you’re asking so nicely, I suppose I can let you tag along.”

Fatty Xu said coolly.

Since she didn’t know his real situation anyway, he might as well keep up the act all the way.

Agravain breathed a sigh of relief. In this unfamiliar place, danger could strike at any time.

Having a strong person like him to protect her was naturally the best outcome.

“Thank you! Sir, may I ask how I should address you?”

Fatty Xu remembered Zhang Yi’s instructions well and said, “Just call me ‘Tianpeng.’”

“Alright, Mr. Tianpeng. You can call me Agravain.”

And so, this pair, arguably the weakest duo, ended up sticking together in the most bizarre way imaginable.
