Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies Chapter 1373: Three-Eyed Clan Soldiers

~5 minute read · 1,196 words

Zhang Yi arrived above the massive city, selecting a high vantage point to survey the sprawling metropolis before him.

While communicating with Yang Xinxin and the others, he observed this world, simultaneously waiting for the other teams to make their moves. Once the Lord of the Charnel Ground and his group began their operation, it would inevitably create a massive commotion, making them easy to spot.

Sure enough, upon closer inspection, he immediately noticed something off.

The city was so vast that his initial shock had left him no time to examine details before he'd been forced to hide. Now, calming his mind and looking more carefully, he discovered that every street in the city was filled with Tri-Eyed Clan soldiers wearing armor and carrying weapons as they patrolled.

This phenomenon clearly indicated that something had happened.

Indeed, soon Zhang Yi received a distress signal from human soldiers over a dozen kilometers away.

"Whoosh!"

He instantly used spatial traversal to reach them.

This was a street where several dozen soldiers in black combat suits seemed to have lost contact with their main force. They were exploring the city while searching for their comrades' whereabouts.

They had taken to the streets and soon witnessed the Tri-Eyed Clan feeding on humans.

At first, they were merely furious but didn't alert their enemies.

However, there were too many of them, moving in large groups through an unfamiliar city. They quickly drew the attention of passersby.

Those massive Tri-Eyed Clan members gradually surrounded them, staring at them like curiosities, occasionally making comments.

"Huh? Why are there so many strange hairless rats?"

"Are they someone's household pets? And they're wearing clothes - such weird outfits. They almost look like soldiers."

"Haha, those rich folks are so boring, always spending money to dress up their pets."

"Their owner should be nearby, right?"

"These little things are actually kind of cute! Let me have a look!"

A woman grinned, reaching out to grab one of the soldiers.

All the soldiers' expressions changed instantly. Because of the language barrier, they thought these Tri-Eyed Clan members were about to attack them.

"Damn it, what do these bastards want?!"

The soldier nimbly dodged, but this movement only angered the woman further.

"You damn little thing, where do you think you're running? A mere beast dares to toy with me?!"

The man behind her walked over, grinning obsequiously as he said, "Let me catch him for you!"

He rolled up his sleeves, a fierce expression on his face as he reached his massive hand toward the soldier.

"You wretched bastards, KILL THEM!!"

The soldiers now believed they were under attack. At this moment, they had no other choice. If they were caught, the best outcome would be becoming pets locked in cages.

Enraged, the soldiers immediately aimed their guns at the Tri-Eyed Clan members before them.

"Rat-a-tat-tat-tat-tat!!!!"

Muzzles spat flames as bullets crazily tore into the Tri-Eyed Clan.

"Ahhh!!!"

The man let out a pained cry. For some reason, he felt like his entire body was being stabbed by awls - pain everywhere.

The bullets struck his flesh, and soon his body was covered in bullet holes.

But against the Tri-Eyed Clan's massive frames, these bullets couldn't inflict fatal damage.

Still, it hurt like hell.

The soldiers, now believing all the surrounding Tri-Eyed Clan were attacking them, began indiscriminate firing.

"AAAAHHHH!!!"

The crowd screamed in agony, suffering terribly as they scrambled away.

"Boss, our guns don't seem to work on them!"

A soldier shouted in terror.

That was only natural.

To support their massive bodies, these Tri-Eyed Clan were born with powerful physiques - flesh, skin, bones, and internal organs all capable of withstanding tremendous pressure.

They simply couldn't be killed by the ordinary firearms these soldiers were using.

"Switch ammunition!"

The squad leader, a bald, bearded man, roared.

Soon all the soldiers switched to more powerful bullets, and this time they finally saw results.

These small high-explosive rounds were comparable to grenades in effect.

"Thud!"

A Tri-Eyed Clan member's knee was directly blown apart by a shot, instantly severed in two.

"It's working! Keep it up! These are all demons - killing even one is a massive achievement!"

The squad leader shouted, trying to boost his team's morale.

Zhang Yi glanced over and silently shook his head.

These people were far too weak. The strongest among them, the squad leader, only had a superhuman ability index of around 6,000 points. There were even ordinary human soldiers in the team.

Instead of hiding and waiting for reinforcements, they'd boldly strutted out into the streets. They were practically asking for death.

Sure enough, the disturbance soon attracted a group of armored Tri-Eyed Clan soldiers.

A dozen Tri-Eyed Clan members carrying swords and spears spotted these several dozen soldiers. Their faces twisted into the expressions of cats finding mice.

"Heheh, there are a few more little rats over here!"

"Don't kill them all at once. Let's take our time playing!"

"Save a couple for me to keep later. Hairless rats that can use bows and arrows - how interesting!"

"Oh, my daughter wants one too."

The Tri-Eyed Clan soldiers slowly encircled them, letting bullets bounce off their armor, faces twisted in vicious grins.

It was only then that the human soldiers' expressions changed.

If even their guns were useless, how were they supposed to fight these monsters?!

Seeing this, the squad leader shouted, "Don't be afraid! They're just a little bigger than us! Nothing to fear!"

He pulled two high-explosive grenades from his belt and hurled them at the nearest Tri-Eyed Clan soldier.

The Tri-Eyed Clan soldier looked puzzled, wondering why the tiny hairless rat was throwing some sort of hidden weapon at him.

He couldn't even be bothered to dodge, simply sticking out his belly to meet them.

"BOOM!"

A violent explosion rang out. The human soldiers watched ahead with hopeful eyes - these grenades were extremely powerful, capable of damaging armored vehicles.

But soon, their expressions changed.

Because they heard the Tri-Eyed Clan soldier's furious roar.

That Tri-Eyed Clan soldier emerged from the smoke. His clothes had been shredded, revealing the dark armor underneath.

Though he looked a bit disheveled, he showed no signs of serious injury.

But his blood-red eyes proved he was enraged.

"You damned rats, DIE!"

He raised the iron club in his hand and slammed it viciously down at the formation of human soldiers.

"BOOM!!!"

The cobblestone ground was directly shattered. Though the human soldiers dodged quickly, the flying debris still struck many of them.

The immense force sent them flying. Even through their combat suits, they suffered severe injuries, coughing up mouthfuls of blood from the impact.

"I really don't understand. Such lowly creatures actually dare to resist us humans. Ridiculous."

A Tri-Eyed Clan soldier held long tongs in one hand and a cloth bag in the other, picking up the severely wounded soldiers like collecting trash and tossing them into the bag.
