I was just making up techniques… how did all of you become Emperors? Chapter 641 641: Turmoil Is Imminent

Previously on I was just making up techniques… how did all of you become Emperors?...
Cao Youqian bid farewell to Xia Kang and Ying Li, gifting them protective jade pendants from his lineage and assuring the other disciples of their own shares, while boasting of his unmatched strength against gods and demons. As Da Lei successfully broke through to a new realm amid lightning tribulation, Xia Kang and Ying Li departed for the Great Xia Tribe. Upon arrival, a terrifying five-clawed black dragon, the ninth son of the Black Dragon God, descended over the tribe, demanding to see the defeated Demon Dragon Hei Mo and sowing panic among the inhabitants. Xia Kang boldly revealed that Hei Mo had been suppressed by his master, enraging the dragon into vowing to slaughter the humans and their master in retribution.

"Is this guy Xia Kang a complete moron?"

"Even now, he's busy showing off his position. Does he think we're not perishing quick enough?"

"This idiot really has a blockhead. Why couldn't he have drawn that Five-Clawed Black Dragon straight to the Tyrant Fist Holy Land?"

"..."

Within the Great Xia Tribe, folks let loose all sorts of curses toward Xia Kang once his words reached their ears. If possible, they'd charge outside immediately and stitch his mouth closed tight.

The Great Priest even shot a weird look at the Chieftain next to him. Were it not for the dread of that sky-soaring Black Dragon targeting him first, he'd have leaped out to give Xia Kang a proper tongue-lashing.

Beyond the tribe's borders, Xia Kang caught the Five-Clawed Black Dragon's remarks, but his face stayed utterly calm. He coolly uttered three words: "What a shame."

???

Every being there picked up on Xia Kang's statement, and massive question marks popped up in their minds. Nobody grasped what he meant at all.

The Five-Clawed Black Dragon let out a mocking laugh and declared, "Boy, are you listening to your own nonsense?"

Xia Kang recalled his master's imposing figure and utterly overbearing presence. The anxiety and terror gripping his heart faded away in an instant. A faint smile tugged at his lips as he replied, "I meant it's unfortunate that my master's ultimate divine skill has to be wasted on a lowly Demon Emperor like you."

"Hahaha..."

The Five-Clawed Black Dragon burst into loud laughter and stated, "Boy, is your master perhaps a Martial God? Even a Martial God wouldn't dare challenge my Dragon Clan."

"Martial God?"

Xia Kang intentionally held back for a beat, his expression brimming with reverence as he said, "My master could rip a Martial God in half with a single hand. To me, a Martial God isn't all that impressive."

"Little brat, it looks like you've bought into your master's tall tales as fact. Fine, this Emperor will offer you a shot to summon your master. I'd like to witness exactly how powerful he really is."

The Five-Clawed Black Dragon spoke with clear contempt on his features. He'd already decided to slaughter every human present to honor his fallen sibling, so timing mattered little to him. Besides, his divine sense spanned a full ten thousand li around.

Should that boy's master try to flee, he'd catch up without breaking a sweat.

The people of the Great Xia Tribe overheard this and silently begged in their thoughts: Xia Kang, hurry and call your master. Stop yapping here.

Xia Kang, of course, remained oblivious to their inner pleas. He grinned and responded, "Very well, as you desire."

With that, he turned his eyes to Ying Li nearby and inquired, "Junior Brother, have you ever witnessed Master in action?"

"No."

Ying Li had no clue why his Senior Brother posed that query and instinctively shook his head.

"By chance, neither have I. Today, we'll observe it side by side."

Upon finishing, Xia Kang gradually lifted the jade pendant clutched in his palm, pointing it toward the Five-Clawed Black Dragon overhead. He channeled spiritual energy into it and bellowed, "Master, please descend."

His words had barely echoed when the jade pendant burst forth with a brilliant glow. In the very next moment, a Dharma avatar mirroring Cao Youqian perfectly materialized in the heavens.

As soon as the Dharma avatar emerged, the smirk vanished from the Five-Clawed Black Dragon's visage. He sensed an oppressive force from this avatar that rivaled even his father's might.

"Sto... Stop..."

The Five-Clawed Black Dragon instinctively yelled out, yet the Dharma avatar's reply came in the form of a devastating blow.

It was a punch brimming with supreme arrogance.

One strike released, and deities alongside Buddhas alike would shudder in fear!

Boom!

Following a thunderous explosion, the Five-Clawed Black Dragon soaring above was shattered into scattered chunks of gore. Both body and soul were utterly annihilated, with just a Dragon Pearl plummeting swiftly from the air.

It crashed down hard on the river's far shore facing the Great Xia Tribe with a resounding thud.

Silence. Across a hundred li, the area fell eerily still, silent enough to hear no bird's cry. In the Great Xia Tribe, the Great Priest and Chieftain gawked at the sky drenched in bloody drizzle, frozen in shock.

Only when the initial droplet of blood splattered their cheeks did the pair snap out of it, swiftly circulating their True Qi to gather up this precious rain.

Neither cried out nor hollered. This belonged to Xia Kang's victory spoils, and no one else could claim a share.

Outside the tribe, Ying Li lingered in a daze for quite a while. The impact of that spectacle had hit him far too profoundly.

Xia Kang, meanwhile, shut his eyes and repeatedly relished that earlier strike. Much later, he reopened them and announced, "I've grasped it."

Ying Li questioned, "Senior Brother, what exactly did you grasp?"

Xia Kang elaborated, "Master's Unrivaled Tyrant Fist demands not just sheer dominance, but a relentless, unyielding will. This echoes what Master always teaches: with a Dao Heart firm enough, our strikes gain true might."

Upon hearing that, Ying Li instinctively flashed a thumbs-up at Xia Kang. "Senior Brother, that's impressive as expected. Still, we've just taken down a spawn of a Dragon God. This might draw even bigger woes. We ought to notify Master right away."

"Makes sense. Tomorrow, meet me here, and we'll head back to the sect as one."

Xia Kang had planned a direct return at first, but skipping one's own home without a visit felt improper.

"Sure."

Ying Li saw no issue with the arrangement.

After bidding Ying Li farewell, Xia Kang tucked the Dragon Pearl into the storage bag his master had given him. Then he soared over the vast river, reentering the tribe.

No sooner had he touched down than the Great Priest and Chieftain approached to greet him, their faces etched with worry as they asked, "Kang'er, are you okay?"

Xia Kang shook his head. "Grandfather, Great Priest, I'm perfectly fine."

The Chieftain inquired with curiosity, "How did you manage to call upon that esteemed one to act earlier?"

Xia Kang smiled as he clarified, "Prior to descending the mountain, Master handed me this jade pendant. In times of peril, activating it summons Master's aid."

"You must safeguard that jade pendant well. Losing it would spell disaster." The Chieftain warned in haste.

"No need for concern, Grandfather. Only us few disciples can wield it. Should anyone else seize it, backlash is likely." Xia Kang explained calmly.

The pair, who had briefly considered inspecting the jade pendant, abandoned the notion at once and shifted to probing Xia Kang about his progress in cultivation under that revered figure these past years.

Xia Kang held nothing back, sharing all he could with the two elders.

As the Great Priest proclaimed the Black Dragon's defeat at that adult's hands, peace returned to the Great Xia Tribe. Those who'd earlier badmouthed Xia Kang now felt too ashamed to approach him openly.

The following dawn, Xia Kang and Ying Li set off together for the Tyrant Fist Holy Land.

...

"Why are you two back in such a rush?"

Cao Youqian eyed his two disciples, who looked weary from the journey, and displayed a confused look.

"Master, we ran into a Five-Clawed Black Dragon along the way..."

Xia Kang recounted the previous day's events to his master in complete detail.

After absorbing the full story, Cao Youqian chuckled and remarked, "Ah, so it was that one's elder brother showing up. No worries; even if his own sire arrived, this Seat wouldn't flinch. But what brought a Five-Clawed Black Dragon here out of nowhere?"

"I know the details."

Lei Qilin's voice suddenly echoed.

Cao Youqian whipped around at the sound, glaring irritably at Lei Qilin. "Big Lei, next time you chime in, could you avoid sneaking up from behind? You nearly scared me half to death."

Lei Qilin cocked its head. "You never mentioned that rule before."

"Out with it—what went down?"

Cao Youqian felt intrigued about how Big Lei, a Qilin, held intel on Dragon Clan affairs.

Lei Qilin explained, "Because the Qilin, Dragon, and Phoenix Clans are on the brink of all-out war. I got word too that my clan expects me to wipe out the Black Dragon and a Thunder Phoenix. Yesterday, I sent back that I'd already handled the Black Dragon and was recovering. Give it time before I tackle that Thunder Phoenix."

"You really know how to spin tales, kid. Claiming my feat as yours. Though, why the clash among your three clans?" Cao Youqian asked, face full of bewilderment.

"Hehe."

Lei Qilin chuckled slyly. "Brother, what's yours is mine anyway. Keeps things simple, right?"

It hesitated briefly before adding, "It's all about vying for dominance over this continent. Right now, among the myriad clans, just our Qilin, Dragon, and Phoenix have Three Ancestors beyond Demon God level. Topple the other two, and the whole land falls to one."

"Who claims only your three clans boast God King tiers? Our Ask Dao Sect has them too."

Cao Youqian shot back, then muttered, "Why not just split the realm three ways? Do you have to battle to the bitter end?"

He couldn't shake thoughts of the Tianxuan Continent, where such conflicts had unfolded before. Clearly, the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin lacked the chops to rule this land outright.

Lei Qilin sidestepped the query with a grin and asked, "Brother Qian-er, mind lending a hand to deal with that old hag?"
