I was just making up techniques… how did all of you become Emperors? Chapter 624: Chu Feng: The Heavy Responsibility of Improving Alchemy is Entrusted to You

Previously on I was just making up techniques… how did all of you become Emperors?...
The Great Xia Tribe descends into chaos as the terrifying Demon King looms outside the city, paralyzing soldiers and prompting the Chieftain and High Priest to convene the elders for desperate countermeasures. Amidst blame directed at the Chieftain's grandson Xia Kang for past failures, the High Priest proposes a sacrificial defense, urging the Chieftain to delay the invader while the tribe evacuates. Tension peaks until a warrior reports Xia Kang's return with astonishing news: the Demon King is his Martial Uncle, an envoy from the Ancestor of Body Cultivation, leading the leaders to the city wall where all kneel in awe as the decree begins to unfold.

"We respectfully obey the orders of the Venerable Ancestor!"

Hovering over Great Xia City, a bunch of cultivators replied with deep respect after listening to the decree proclaimed by Lei Qilin. Meanwhile, they couldn't help but ponder inwardly about the mysterious nature of this fresh Body Cultivation Ancestor who had just shown up.

Still, his choice to skip any need for sacrificial lives proved a huge boon for the Great Xia Tribe.

"Fine, this King is done reciting that mighty lord's command; I'll depart in thirty minutes. Xiaokang, go spend some quality time with your kin right away."

With those words spoken, Lei Qilin vanished instantly from view. Watching his master's uncle depart, Xia Kang felt no anxiety and merely lifted his gaze gradually toward his grandfather and father atop the city walls. He parted his lips slowly and declared: "Grandfather, Father, I haven't disgraced you."

"Hahaha..."

The Clan Leader let out three booming laughs before leaping from the city's summit and wrapping an arm around Xia Kang's shoulders. "Kang'er, you've brought no dishonor to me; starting today, the whole Great Xia Tribe will boast about you, my boy. Grandpa's bringing you home to the clan so everyone can witness you, the young hero of Great Xia!"

These words hit Xia Kang hard, bringing tears streaming down his face. Just days prior, he was labeled the Great Xia Tribe's criminal, yet now he stood as its champion.

This rush of fulfillment was entirely new to him, and deep down, he vowed to train relentlessly. Someday, he'd guide the Great Xia Tribe to its greatest heights.

At the same time, he'd ensure that treacherous pair suffered dearly and wipe out their entire tribe.

Thirty minutes passed, and amid the watchful eyes of the Great Xia Tribe's members, Xia Kang set off alongside Lei Qilin.

Once Xia Kang was gone, the Great Xia Tribe shared the word far and wide that their top genius had knelt to join that powerful lord's sect. Different groups reacted in varied ways to the announcement.

Yet none of that concerned Xia Kang much, for back at the Tyrant Fist Sacred Ground, he threw himself into intense cultivation. As one of this world's destined Sons, and under the tutelage of the renowned Cao Youqian, his progress soared at an incredible pace.

Within a single month, he met every expectation Cao Youqian had set.

Cao Youqian held nothing back, imparting all his knowledge and handing down the Chaos Body Refining Decision he'd received from his own master to Xia Kang.

As Xiao Chen and Cao Youqian kept building their sway beyond the sect, inside the Asking Dao Sect, Jiuwu and Jiang Yan's cultivation advanced at a divine speed too.

Three months of practice in the Asking Dao Sect led Jiang Yan to awaken the Zhoutian Body, a rare Divine Body. He grasped the Green Wood True Intent, infusing a hint of Dao Profundity into Chu Feng.

Alongside Jiang Yan's breakthrough, White Deer at last shaped himself into human form. On this fine morning in the Asking Dao Sect,

a youth sporting two deer antlers, clad in pristine white robes, and seeming around sixteen or seventeen years old, stood beside a stream, examining his transformed figure. A grin spread across his features as he whispered: "I've finally achieved human form, and now I can kneel to join the Master's sect."

After muttering this, White Deer rushed off in excitement to find Jiuwu and Jiang Yan: "Senior Brothers, I've transformed! I've transformed!"

Jiuwu and Jiang Yan eyed the lad in front of them, grins lighting up their own faces as they chorused: "Congratulations, Junior Brother Deer."

White Deer rubbed his head sheepishly: "Senior Brothers, from here on, I can train alongside you both."

"That's great; soon the three of us will practice as one, and we'll definitely reach the heights of Eldest Senior Brother and Second Senior Brother one day!" Jiuwu exclaimed, his expression brimming with aspiration.

Right then, a well-known voice echoed near the trio's ears: "Looks like happy events are piling up for everyone today."

At the sound, they whipped around at once and bowed deeply to Chu Feng: "We pay respects to Master."

"Rise."

With that, Chu Feng turned his eyes to White Deer and teased with a grin: "Kid, you're doing quite well."

"You honor me too much, Sir; might this disciple now kneel to enter the Master's sect?" White Deer inquired, his face alight with hope.

"Of course you can."

Chu Feng instructed Jiuwu: "Jiuwu, get the tea ready."

"Yes."

Jiuwu sprang into action without delay.

Soon after, the apprenticeship rite concluded, and Chu Feng regarded his newest young disciple. "Disciple, you're nameless for now, but having joined my sect, going without a name won't do."

White Deer's face beamed with thrill: "I beseech Master to grant me a name."

Chu Feng declared: "Since you're a deer by origin, this seat shall use Deer as your surname. For the given name, Ming—from the deer's gentle call, grazing on wild mugwort."

"Lu Ming, what a fine name."

White Deer joyfully embraced the name.

Chu Feng: "Very well, take your seats; this seat will resume lecturing on the Dao for you today."

The three sat promptly and listened in silence as Chu Feng delved into the Dao. An hour passed before the session wrapped up, and Chu Feng stated: "The lecture for today is over; ask your questions as you normally do."

"Yes."

Jiuwu led off by voicing his cultivation queries. Once he was done, Jiang Yan spoke up: "Master, this disciple lately noticed an issue and seeks your wisdom to clear it."

Chu Feng: "Go ahead and tell me."

"This disciple found that numerous herbs boast potent effects, yet whether simmered into soup or pulverized for intake, much of their power fades away. Is there a means to retain the full potency of these spirit medicines?" Jiang Yan shared his puzzle.

The question sparked intrigue on Jiuwu and Lu Ming's faces. Nearly every cultivator faced this hurdle, though no fix existed yet.

They wondered if Master held the key.

Chu Feng smiled upon hearing it and replied: "That's no real challenge. Master the art of alchemy, and you'll lock in the essences of all sorts of spirit herbs. It doesn't just heal illnesses—it boosts cultivation and extends lifespan too."

The three disciples froze in shock, directing amazed gazes at Chu Feng.

Thump!

Jiang Yan dropped to his knees and pleaded earnestly: "Master, please instruct me in the art of alchemy."

Chu Feng extended a hand to lift Jiang Yan and chuckled: "No issue at all. This seat possesses an alchemy method ready to share; if you wish to learn, I'll teach it to you."

As he finished, Chu Feng tapped a finger, sending a beam of light into Jiang Yan's mind. The bold words Mystic Fire Alchemy Technique etched themselves there.

Jiang Yan crossed his legs at once and dove into studying the alchemy art from his Master. Hours ticked by before he opened his eyes and bowed: "Many thanks, Master, for granting this disciple the alchemy path. Yet a few uncertainties linger."

Chu Feng: "Speak them out."

Jiang Yan explained: "This Mystic Fire Alchemy Technique runs deep, but refining pills seems impossible without spirit fire. After all, the spirit fire Master described is quite rare."

"It is possible."

Chu Feng paused briefly, then added: "The task of refining this alchemy method falls to you. Given your gifts, this seat is confident you'll craft a fresh alchemy technique before long."
