I Really Am A Villain Chapter 1310 - Erasing Memory, Ancient Demon Realm
New NovelđȘ¶
âIâve already transferred all of my memories into the consciousness body,â Wu Zhaodi said, looking at Xu Zimo. âAs long as this second consciousness isnât destroyed, Iâll be able to recall everything.â
âNow Iâll need to erase part of your memory,â Xu Zimo replied.
âErase my memory?â Wu Zhaodi frowned in confusion.
âWhen that being comes, itâll definitely probe your mind. The schemes we planned together canât be discovered,â Xu Zimo explained. âSo I have to remove that portion of your memory.â
âSure. No problem,â Wu Zhaodi nodded.
Her memories were already backed up in her second consciousness, so losing a part of her current memory wouldnât affect her much.
However, memory erasure wasnât a simple matter.
Making someone completely lose their memory was easy, but selectively erasing specific fragments while keeping the rest intact, and without harming the person, was far more difficult.
Xu Zimo had to rely on the power of the Primordial Chaos Bead to enter Wu Zhaodiâs River of Fate.
Wu Zhaodi sat cross-legged, her eyes gently closed, her eyelashes trembling slightly, a sign of her nervousness.
Opening oneâs River of Fate without resistance meant complete trust, for it exposed every secret, every memory to the otherâs gaze.
Xu Zimo wasnât one to pry into anotherâs past. He only needed to find and erase the portion of memory related to their secret plans.
Above them, the Primordial Chaos Bead floated, emanating waves of pure white radiance that fell upon them like moonlight.
Xu Zimo placed his hands upon her brow, and his soul left his body, plunging into the boundless current of her fate.
He had seen the River of Fate before, back on the Primordial Heartlands, but that had been the river of a world. Vast, surging, immeasurable.
Wu Zhaodiâs by contrast, was like a meandering stream winding through the void.
Yet within that small stream, every droplet of water carried the weight of destiny, each drop worth millions of pounds.
It was her life, her very existence.
As she experienced more and grew stronger, her River of Fate would expand, until her death, when it would return to the Heavenly Dao and replenish the world.
This was the cycle of heaven and earth.
All beings drew spirit energy from the world, and upon death, they gave back everything to the Heavenly Dao.
Xu Zimo moved carefully; a single misstep could spell disaster.
Drawing upon the Primordial Chaos Beadâs power, he fixed his gaze upon the flowing river.
Wu Zhaodiâs life played out before him like a film, each scene vivid and real.
Finally, he found the memory that involved him.
With a flick of his hand, sharp as a blade, he severed that fragment of memory.
It looked effortless, done within seconds, but sweat drenched his entire body.
It was as if he had been pulled from the depths of the ocean. One wrong move, and her River of Fate could have been thrown into chaos, her destiny shredded beyond repair.
Once the task was done, the Primordial Chaos Beadâs power drew him back from that void realm.
âItâs done,â Xu Zimo said as his soul returned to his body.
Wu Zhaodi slowly opened her eyes, a hint of confusion flickering within them.
She remembered Xu Zimo, how they met, how he helped her take revenge, but the memories of their secret plot were gone.
Xu Zimo knew that if that being ever found her and took control of her mind, her second consciousness would awaken and reveal everything to her.
But if that being never found her, the secret would die with time. Xu Zimo himself couldnât be sure what the outcome would be.
That existence was simply too mysterious, always acting through subordinates or proxies, never showing itself.
âYouâre the Realm Lord now,â Xu Zimo said softly. âItâs time for me to go.â
âWhere are you going?â Wu Zhaodi asked quickly.
âJust wandering,â he smiled.
In truth, he intended to head for the Ancient Demon Realm, but he didnât tell her that, fearing that if that being pried into her thoughts, it might learn his plan.
âYouâre leaving now?â she asked.
Xu Zimo nodded slightly. As he walked out of the grand cultivation hall, he turned back, smiled faintly, and said, âI hope that when we meet again, weâll both be well.â
With that, he rose into the air and disappeared over the horizon, vanishing from Wu Zhaodiâs sight.
âZhaodi,â came an old, cheerful voice. Grandpa Wang approached with a broad smile. âEverything in the sect has been taken care of. The disciples have been calmed, and your enthronement as Realm Lord is set for three days from now. All the major sects have been notified.â
âI understand,â Wu Zhaodi said with a nod.
âAnd what about that young master Xu?â Grandpa Wang looked around. âWhere is he?â
âHeâs gone,â Wu Zhaodi replied quietly.
âGone?â Grandpa Wangâs eyes widened. âHow could you let him go?â
âYoung Master Xu has his own matters to attend to,â Wu Zhaodi said. âHe couldnât possibly stay here forever.â
âYoung people,â Grandpa Wang sighed, shaking his head. âMeeting someone like that doesnât happen often, you shouldâve held on to him!â
âGrandpa Wang, what are you talking about?â Wu Zhaodi protested quickly. âWeâre just friends.â
âFriends, yes⊠I understand,â Grandpa Wang said with a teasing smile.
If they were only friends, would he have done so much for her?
âReally, just friends! Oh, forget it, youâre impossible,â Wu Zhaodi muttered, turning back toward the hall.
Yet, deep down, even she couldnât deny her feelings. She had thought about it, but they were destined to walk different paths, two people from different worlds.
The Ancient Demon Realm lay at the very heart of the Godfiend Abyss Heaven.
After confirming its location from Celestial Devourer, Xu Zimo flew Chaos toward it.
Even as he traveled, he wrestled with doubt.
What identity should he assume when facing the Ancient Demons?
He had already decided not to disturb Hellfire Asura. The latter had chosen to withdraw from the world, and since he had once fought at Xu Zimoâs side, Xu Zimo was willing to grant him peace.
But what about the rest of the Ancient Demon Race?
Were they like Hellfire Asura, content with their current lives, unwilling to fight against the world again?
After much thought, Xu Zimo resolved to learn the truth of the Ancient Demon Raceâs intentions first.
If they were unwilling, he would not force them.
Chaos soared across the endless blue sky, swift as lightning.
For days the weather fluctuated, thunder, rain, wind, and storm. Traveling like this, he journeyed for over a month before reaching the Ancient Demon Realm.
Descending from Chaos, he found himself before a dead city.
Weeds choked the streets. The ruins were silent and lifeless, devoid of any trace of habitation.
Before him stood a stone stele.
As he approached, Xu Zimo saw that the stele was blank, no words, no carvings.
âHow do you enter the Ancient Demon Realm?â he asked, summoning Celestial Devourer.
