I Pick Up Talents on the Interstellar Battlefield Chapter 758 - 537: Demon’s Power, Crisis Across the Front

Outside the fifth satellite city, the blizzard raged furiously, its fury akin to roaring waves upon the sky, transforming the world into a blur of white.
The biting wind, sharp as bladed whips, lashed out, inflicting a stinging pain upon any exposed flesh.
Suddenly, amidst this vast expanse of snow and wind, a few figures materialized.
"Military Lord!"
At the sight of the commanding figure leading the group, the soldiers' taut nerves instantly loosened, replaced by a comforting sense of security.
With the Military Lord present, any mere snow beast tide, or even more fearsome adversaries, would inspire no fear at all.
Qin Tian offered a slight nod, then directed his gaze towards the captain of the guard battalion, inquiring calmly, "Zhang Song, what is the situation?"
Zhang Song stood ramrod straight, reporting, "Military Lord, our reconnaissance drones have detected that the first wave of the snow beast tide is rapidly approaching, numbering over ten thousand. Approximately fifty miles behind them, another group of snow beasts, estimated at around eight thousand, is also surging towards the fifth satellite city!"
Upon hearing this, Qin Tian nodded. His potent perception then unfurled like a tide, extending outwards to encompass hundreds of miles.
Instantly, the blood, the scents, the energy fluctuations, and the life magnetic fields of all living things within this radius became vividly clear in his mind, painting a precise 'biological hotspot map.'
Within this map, two distinct surges of life signals were hurtling directly towards the fifth satellite city, one following the other.
The vanguard of the snow beast tide was less than ten miles from the city, set to arrive within mere minutes. The second wave required approximately twenty minutes of travel.
A grand total of nearly twenty thousand. Had he not personally arrived, it would likely have necessitated the deployment of over half of the Ice Extreme Pass forces to quell the danger.
"Unol, that fellow truly knows how to put on a grand display," Qin Tian mused inwardly with a sneer.
To others, twenty thousand snow beasts presented a catastrophic threat. To him, however, they were nothing more than insignificant nuisances.
Just as he finished speaking, a low, heavy rumble emanated from the distant wind and snow. Soon after, a cluster of dark shapes pierced through the snow curtain, accelerating rapidly towards the city.
The snow beast tide had arrived!
This was a chaotic horde, a motley mix of various ice and snow-dwelling creatures.
Towering Giant Snowmen, standing five to six meters tall, marched with heavy, earth-shaking steps. Packs of snow wolves, their movements a blur of white lightning, galloped forward, their sharp fangs bared with a chilling glint, emitting low growls from their throats.
In the sky, hundreds of snow eagles, their wingspans exceeding three meters, circled and dove. The icy shards adorning their wings glittered in the snowy light, their razor-sharp talons like steel hooks, poised to descend upon the soldiers below.
Furthermore, ice-armored boars, encased in thick layers of frost, bulldozed their way forward with their robust bodies. Lurking within the snow, snow belly snakes with forked, icy tongues crept silently, concealed by the wind and snow. There were even snow apes, resembling monkeys, wielding crude weapons fashioned from ice and stone, brandishing them menacingly.
A dense swarm of snow beasts surged forward like a living, white torrent, blotting out the sky and casting a terrifying pressure that left the soldiers on the city walls struggling to breathe.
Yet, at this precise moment, not a single soldier displayed any sign of fear.
The reason was simple: before them stood Qin Tian, a solitary figure against the biting wind and snow. His steadfast presence, as imposing as a mountain, instilled in them an immeasurable sense of security.
With the Military Lord present, they feared nothing.
"Hiss——"
A high-pitched hiss sliced through the howling wind and snow. Kazik could restrain itself no longer; the black-purple form vanished as if a phantom.
Without awaiting Qin Tian's command, it charged headlong into the snow beast horde. Its form flickered multiple times within a single second—each flicker and disappearance resulted in the head of a Rank Six snow beast being severed, its blood spurting forth.
It specifically targeted the elite combatants within the snow beast ranks, felling over ten such targets in the blink of an eye.
Almost in perfect synchrony with Kazik's initial move, Karsas slowly ascended into the air, unfurling an ancient Soul Scripture.
With a hoarse chant, thousands of spectral souls, illuminated by a faint green light, surged from the Soul Scripture, engulfing the snow beast horde like a swarm of locusts.
These 'Death Soul Soldiers' ferociously tore into the snow beasts' bodies or unleashed chilling soul shockwaves, instantly plunging the previously organized snow beast tide into utter disarray.
Amidst the spreading chaos, numerous snow beasts lost all semblance of control, turning on each other in a frenzy of trampling and biting. The weaker snow wolves and snow belly snakes were unceremoniously crushed into paste by the lumbering Giant Snowmen or the charging ice-armored boars, rapidly transforming the snow-covered ground into a gruesome mixture of blood and ravaged carcasses.Yet, the sheer number of snow beasts proved too much; even with Kazik's precise decapitations and Karsas's relentless harassment disrupting their ranks, their advance could not be halted. Massive waves of snow beasts continued their assault through the pandemonium, their eyes blazing with a controlled madness, much like ravenous wolves lunging toward the fifth satellite city. The front lines were now mere hundreds of meters from their objective! It was at this crucial turning point that Qin Tian finally made his move. Confronting the overwhelming tide of snow beasts, a deep, profound purple light began to pulse and flicker rapidly within his eyes. In the very next instant, this radiant purple light erupted outwards before him, unfurling like a vast, expanding halo. It swiftly transformed into an immense, fan-shaped field, instantly encompassing every single charging snow beast within its reach! A truly breathtaking spectacle then unfolded— Every snow beast caught within the wash of the purple light became utterly motionless, frozen in place. The ferocity and wild gleam in their eyes rapidly faded, replaced by an unnerving, absolute stillness. Following this, they collapsed in unison, like stalks of wheat being harvested, plummeting towards the ground. They densely carpeted the barren land before the city's fortifications with their lifeless bodies, not a solitary snow beast managing to escape the effect. The savage roars and the heavy thuds abruptly fell silent, their cacophony vanishing in that moment.
