"Ice God Treasure Vault?!"
Positioned before Qin Tian and his allies, Huo Yuansheng's eyes bulged wide open, shock flooding his expression.
Just half a day inside the ruins had let him devour over a dozen Ice Elements, pushing his Spiritual Energy higher bit by bit while he marveled at the place's "abundance." Never had he dreamed a far grander prize hid behind all that wealth.
"That’s right." A grin spread across Qin Tian’s lips, "A precise ritual is needed to unlock the vault. No outside disruptions can happen during it, so guard me while I do it. Once the ruins unlock, we'll dive in together and split the treasures evenly."
"No problem!" Huo Yuansheng pledged with grave resolve, " entrust it to us. We'll make sure no demons come close to you!"
"Excellent, let's skip the wait and head out right away." Qin Tian moved fast. A soft silver wave pulsed from his hand, conjuring a Gate of Space from nothing, its interior swallowed by pitch-black void.
"Let’s go!"
Zhuge Yu, Taishi Feng, and Huo Yuansheng plunged through one after the other, Qin Tian slipping in last. Behind them, the Gate of Space snapped shut, dissolving amid the howling gale and flurry.
......
In the Ice God Treasure Vault's domain, massive stacks of frozen bones and demon carcasses towered like peaks, layer upon layer of bodies blanketing the icy wasteland. Thick, primordial black fog permeated the atmosphere, its chill piercing straight to the soul.
"Swish—"
The Gate of Space ripped open once more, unleashing Qin Tian and his trio in rapid order.
Like embers flung into boiling oil, their entrance exploded the still frostfield into frenzy.
"Crack-crack—!"
Bone-shattering cracks echoed without end as demons burst from the corpse heaps.
Half-corpses hauled mangled backbones while slithering over the ground; whole ones cloaked in heavy, unbreakable black haze, spectral green fires flaring in vacant orbits; more tunneled up from below, talons grinding the permafrost with ear-piercing screeches.
Before long, swarms of demons hemmed them in tightly, their vacant, icy stares pinned on the four intruders, seething with feral bloodlust.
"Form a battle formation!"
Zhuge Yu bellowed the command, pulling back swiftly to the array's core spot, his bronze Array Plate erupting in vivid blue-gold radiance.
Taishi Feng and Huo Yuansheng synced flawlessly, slotting into left and right flanks to build a rock-solid triangle setup, Qin Tian anchored at the heart gripping the Ice Monument, lost in deep concentration.
This was the Zhuge Family’s Trinity Array, built around the array caster, merging the presence and Spiritual Energy of the other pair into a flawless blend of assault and safeguard.
"Attack!"
Taishi Feng struck first, his Heaven-piercing Halberd lashing out wide, golden Spiritual Energy roaring from the edge to forge a blazing halberd shadow spanning meters, bisecting three charging demons.
Dark blood sprayed wildly, hissing corrosively on the iced earth, but the followers charged undaunted like an ocean swell. Some lashed claws at the trio up close, others gaped from distance to vomit wads of jet-black Energy orbs, pummeling the formation relentlessly.
Huo Yuansheng swung his Longsword with firm control, every blow nailing demons' soft spots like sockets or armor cracks. Sword flashes danced, toppling beasts in droves.
Besides cutting down nearby fiends, he shielded too, neatly carving apart flying Energy orbs into fragments, trailing Sword Qi shoving back the encircling horde.
At the formation's middle, Zhuge Yu's fingers blurred through seals, the bagua motifs on his bronze Array Plate swirling without pause.
Underfoot on the frosted plain, slender blue-gold array lines crept forth, interlacing into a colossal Energy web, after which a see-through energy dome burst upward, sealing the quartet inside.
"Boom, boom, boom—"
Endless black Energy orbs smashed into the dome, sending ripple after ripple across it, but the shield stood unbreakable.
More impressively, the Trinity Array fused the trio's auras into one seamless link, their Spiritual Energy pooled together like an invincible entity, holding off the demons' savage barrages one after another.
Right in the array's nucleus, Qin Tian had tuned out the outer turmoil long ago.
Steadily, he funneled Spiritual Energy into the Ice Monument, its once-dull face exploding in brilliant azure light, frigid aura expanding from it to make nearby demons falter for a beat.
From the Ice Monument, a strange wave radiated outward, as though summoning from antiquity, causing the frozen terrain to quake fiercely. Ancient runes of the Ice God Race surfaced from the icy earth, twisting and glittering through the air while syncing with the monument’s pulse.
This activation unlocked the vault—like inputting the correct code—letting the monument’s Energy harmonize with the vault’s sealing runes.
With the minutes ticking by, demons stirred awake in greater numbers.
Beginning with just hundreds, their ranks swelled past thousands, then tens of thousands, crowding the Trinity Array in thick multitudes, while flying demons shrouded the heavens above.
Mighty Tier Six demons prowled among them, their razor claws gouging the energy barrier, their spherical blasts awe-inspiring in ferocity, gradually overwhelming Zhuge Yu and his two allies with intensifying strain.
Fresh gouges scarred Taishi Feng’s Battle Armor, rivulets of sweat and blood tracing down his face, his halberd strikes lagging; Huo Yuansheng’s breaths came ragged, the sheen on his Longsword waning faintly, arms quivering from fatigue; Zhuge Yu’s brow glistened with icy perspiration, fingers benumbed from array plate command, the energy barrier losing its former brilliance.
Battling hordes of foes and fearsome powerhouses alike, the strain defied comprehension, but the three offered no grumbles or pleas to Qin Tian. They bit down hard, enduring fiercely to uphold the formation and secure ample time for him.
