Qin Tian faced a massive black monster that broke free from an ice mountain, its power partially sealed by the ice monument embedded in its skull. Karen retreated to observe from afar, scheming to claim the spoils afterward. Qin Tian wielded his Thunder Saber infused with purple lightning, testing the beast's formidable defenses, dodging its crushing attacks, and striking at its knee to shatter scales.

The beast lurched unsteadily with a furious roar, lashing out once more with its massive palm.

Qin Tian, spotting this, beat his enormous wings forcefully, withdrawing dozens of meters away.

Boom!

The huge palm smashed into empty air, shattering the icy ground into a massive crater.

Before the creature could pull back its strike, Qin Tian darted to its flank in a flash, his blade slicing down anew—this time carving into the seam between the monster’s waist scales. Violet lightning seeped through the crack, drawing a stifled groan from the beast as it whipped around to seize Qin Tian, grasping only an empty afterimage.

Over the following dozen exchanges, Qin Tian ghosted around the monster at blinding speed.

The creature’s colossal palms and tail spikes lashed out one after another, each assault brimming with apocalyptic force, but Qin Tian dodged them all by a hair’s breadth, thanks to the velocity surge from the Demon King’s Wings—now slipping beneath its towering legs to slash at the joints, now soaring to its shoulder with his blade whistling over its savage head, purple bolts searing its eyelids.

Not even the edge of Qin Tian’s robe could the monster touch, left to bellow in rage as black mist surged thicker, its scales bristling in fury, yet powerless against this pesky “black fly.”

“Roar—!”

At last, the monster flew into a complete frenzy.

Its gigantic frame shuddered wildly all of a sudden, black aura roiling like frothing liquid, bones popping loudly, and its over-twenty-meter stature shrank visibly in moments—dwindling down to roughly three meters tall.

Strangely, the ice slab hovering over its head stayed the same size, still half a meter across, giving it a ridiculous look like it was lugging around a billboard.

“It’s got a second form; you Frieza or what?”

Qin Tian’s mouth corner twitched, and right then, the monster barreled toward him.

Post-shrinkage, the beast’s pace exploded upward, claws wrapped in dark aura stabbing at Qin Tian far swifter than earlier.

Beating the Demon King’s Wings to their utmost, Qin Tian maxed out his velocity, falling back while hacking his blade at the leaping fiend.

“Clang clang clang—”

The Black Frost Blade collided fiercely again and again with the monster’s talons, violet lightning clashing against black mist, sparks and bolts flying everywhere.

The monster’s claws cut like godly arms, backed by tremendous power, and every impact sent a slight numbness through Qin Tian’s arms.

At the same time, Qin Tian’s sword danced with lightning quickness, every blow landing precisely in the chinks of the monster’s armor. Though no deep wounds resulted, the steady bleeding activated the Immortal Battle Body’s Blood Fury trait.

(Blood Fury: Heaven Burning—the lower the Life Value, the greater the attack, speed, and defense boosts can be, up to 300%; when causing bleeding damage to a target, 30% of its Qi and Blood are absorbed for oneself for Super Speed regeneration (stackable), while applying the Immortal Blood Curse: each bleeding strike deals 5% of maximum Life Value as true damage, stacking up to 8 layers.)

True damage bypasses all defenses, and as a slice of max Life Value, it hits up to 40%—a terrifying figure.

That said, most High Tier Spiritualists boast potent natural healing, plus safeguards from Spiritual Artifacts, rendering Blood Fury insufficient to cripple them solo.

For instance, Karen wields blood magic expertise alongside prepped Essence Blood Spiritual Pearl for rapid mending before things worsen. Alaya, in prior clashes, leaned on assorted Spiritual Artifacts to mend her wounds.

Though this foe lacked Spiritual Artifact shielding, its regenerative prowess remained extraordinarily tough, but repeated gashes from Qin Tian only stoked its wrath further, filling the air with nonstop roars.

Far off across the frozen tundra, Karen crouched behind a huge ice boulder, eyes glued to the fray, shock flooding his gaze at the escalating duel between Qin Tian and the monster.

As a Tier Six Eight Star from the Holy Blood main line, armed with sinister blood magic, he outmatched typical Tier Seven Spiritualists; only Tier Seven late-stage Golden Bloodline protectors could challenge him.

Against this shape-shifting monster boasting such velocity and toughness, though, escape was his sole choice.

Yet here was Qin Tian, no Holy Blood Spiritualist, holding his own against it at mere Tier Six strength—and even edging ahead a bit.

Karen clenched his Magic Staff tighter, dark crimson eyes brimming with incredulity and envy:

“What sort of freak is he? Without Holy Blood heritage, how does he wield such overwhelming power?”

Right in the battle’s heart, the clash between Qin Tian and the monster intensified without end.

Boom!

The monster swept its left claw across, black aura manifesting like a sharp blade aimed at Qin Tian’s throat, the claw wind biting sharply into his cheek.

Qin Tian pushed lightly off the ground, propelled backward three meters by the lift from the Demon King’s Wings, while flipping the Black Frost Blade for a reverse slash; purple electricity arced along the blade, precisely hitting the monster’s claw tip.

A crisp "clang" echoed as the monster’s claw got deflected slightly, the black aura at the claw tip sizzling from the purple electricity’s burn, etching a faint white mark.

Before Qin Tian could steady his stance, the monster lashed its bony tail like a steel whip straight at him.

Qin Tian dodged with a sidestep and spin, the tail grazing his robe before slamming heavily into the frozen ground, hurling shards of rubble everywhere.

Seizing the moment, he dashed in close, thrusting the Black Frost Blade at the monster’s chest scales with purple electricity surging at the tip, yet the monster evaded just in time, suffering only a shallow scratch on the scales.

"So agile." Qin Tian’s eyes flashed, as he pressed forward blade in hand.

Suddenly, the monster parted its jaws, spewing a thick cloud of black mist laced with tiny black spikes, targeted right at Qin Tian’s face.

Qin Tian clutched the Black Frost Blade firmly, hesitating no longer, and triggered both secretly planted marks on the monster at the same time.

Boom~

The Overlord Mark on its chest detonated first, unleashing an invisible shockwave that rippled across the monster’s scales; the formerly iron-hard black scales cracked instantly with dense fissures, resembling fractured porcelain.
