Hye deployed vast numbers of Soulers and Reapers to Lucas before returning to the space battle against the Toranks. He reorganized his fleet into an arrowhead formation, sacrificing outer ships to deliver undead warriors deep into enemy lines. The Soulers and Reapers destroyed ten percent of the God Weapon mirror ships and infiltrated twenty percent more, crippling the Toranks' offensive. Hye then ordered his forces to scatter, drawing the enraged enemy away while hidden ships prepared a rear assault.

Hye’s attention shifted to another thought. "This strategy proved far more effective than I anticipated. They lost their composure entirely, trying to intimidate us or deal heavy blows to halt our repeat use of it. If that’s the case... Why not let them savor it once more?"

An wicked smile crept over Hye’s face before he issued the command, masterminding a covert rally of his dispersed troops. The battlefield swelled at an alarming rate, engulfing an ever-widening expanse of space. In the midst of this calculated pullback by his forces, the foes began rolling out fresh mirrors.

Right as they unveiled a hundred mirror fragments, a second armada materialized out of nowhere. Unlike the prior minor squad, Hye dispatched a vastly larger force this round—made up of twelve identical small units from the initial assault.

These twelve compact fleets surged forward simultaneously at breakneck speed, all zeroing in on a lone objective: the mirrors and their transport vessels. Now, the enemy paid dearly for stretching their lines so thin, with only scant ships guarding their prized God Weapon.

Witnessing Hye’s troops reuse the identical assault pattern sparked immediate terror among the Toranks. They abruptly stopped pursuing and pulled back. Precisely then, Hye unleashed a directive that would amplify their suffering from this encounter.

[Don’t let them retreat in peace, start chasing them, fire all the time, and move to intercept their retreat path!]

The chaos of battle flipped rapidly from dominance to slaughter, one bloodbath after another. By the moment the Toranks’ dispersed vessels looped back to shield the mirror transports,

Hye’s fighters pulled off a stellar feat, obliterating forty percent of all mirror-bearing ships, as his Soulers and Reapers seized three vessels and whisked them off.

This abrupt reversal left the Toranks in profound dismay. The surviving mirrors could no longer obliterate a mighty world like the Hescos’ home planet.

Undeniably, the mirrors packed devastating power, but that fell short of the campaign’s true aim. Their goal was total planetary annihilation, wiping the Hescos empire off the map with one crushing strike.

Observing three ships stolen outright enraged them further. Without delay, they hurled a massive contingent after those vessels to hunt them down. However, per Hye’s instructions, the trio bolted straight toward his allies and the kingdom’s commanders—the biggest fleet present.

Suddenly, the whole contingent launched into a desperate game of cat-and-mouse, with the Toranks’ huge armada pursuing the captured ships, luring them as far from the zone as feasible.

[Keep the pressure on them, don’t let them catch their breath!] Since the Toranks had detached a huge portion of their strength, the defenses around the God Weapon and leftover mirrors stood feeble and immobile. They underestimated Hye’s danger, assuming the primary peril lay with the massive fleet shadowing the stolen ships.

Nevertheless, Hye was determined to show their error.

His initial move flipped his fragmented fleet fully aggressive. The Toranks’ craft pushed back but refrained from deep pursuit like earlier after his vessels. As dreaded, a fresh lethal arrow barrage followed, igniting deeper dread and chaos within them.

[Did you steal one of their leaders’ daughters or what?!!]

Out of nowhere, amid the frenzied clash, Moth fired off this query to Hye. The latter grasped the situation; Moth, and likely the injured Grand Elder too, had spotted the Toranks’ odd behavior. They yearned to uncover what Hye had done to provoke such fury.

[Nothing much, just destroyed a few of their mirrors!] Hye had no plans to reveal snagging pieces of the God Weapon. That was the exact reason he’d rejected Hescos aid in this void skirmish from the start, [Please tell me you are close to activating the defensive network!]

With Moth and the Grand Elder piqued by his actions, Hye pretended vulnerability and urgency, inquiring about the war’s pivotal front: seizing the planetary defense control hubs.

But Hye was already informed. Lucas kept him posted nonstop, and the man excelled. He’d recaptured several hubs in record time, though many more lingered.

His squads pressed on relentlessly and smoothly, true to the prowess of Soulers and Reapers. Lucas estimated two to six hours for full mastery of the hubs—aligning flawlessly with Hye’s updated scheme.

[Well... We are still midway through!] Moth sounded taken aback by the probe. [I’ll let you know when we are close to doing it!]

[Sure, and before activating the defences, let me know as I’ll need to add a few more forces to the exclusion list!]

[More forces are coming?!!!] Moth burst out in surprise, completely misreading Hye’s aim.

[Hahaha, nah, this time it’s forces I’ll deploy. The battle is growing way harder and faster than I ever expected. Until the planetary defences are activated again, I’ll need to keep those motherfckers away from your homeland, or else...]

Hye seized the moment to strum that note, aware Moth might buy it easily, though not the astute Grand Elder shadowing him, [Don’t forget, all these losses I’m accounting in this war will be repaid tenfold, tenfold Moth, no less!]

[T... Tenfold? Ok, let’s talk about that later after the end of this war...]

[No man, come on! I’m the one paying the bill for you! At least give me something worthy, not some scraps!]

[We will never mistreat you! So let’s talk later, ok?!]
