I'm the King Of Technology Chapter 1972 Fireballs From The Sky

Previously on I'm the King Of Technology...
Tension filled the air as the crew prepared to set sail for war, with names being called and soldiers and their trained dogs boarding their ships. Captain Lisa Reeves commanded the operations aboard the Almighty Destroyer, setting the ship in motion as they departed Baymard’s shores for the South Lampe-Adonis Sea. Among the newcomers was Coby, a peasant from the Czar empire, now grappling with the rigorous training and harsh expectations on his first days aboard. As he faced intense drills and physical challenges, Coby began to forge bonds with his fellow sailors, discovering a newfound sense of pride and resilience in the face of hardship.

Coby pondered his situation, stroking his chin. It wasn't entirely a nightmare. Every Saturday and Sunday evening, they congregated in the grand Cinema hall to watch television. Viewing the latest films and shows was actually quite pleasant. However, from Monday through Friday, the training was so grueling that even their blisters developed blisters. On the weekends, they enjoyed perks like massages from military physicians, swimming, TV time, and access to the ship's library.

The repetition of briefings and mission simulations was so intense that Coby felt he could recite his responsibilities by heart. He had mastered the maps thoroughly, especially since they were tested on mission details every three days. Any failure or laziness resulted in a terrifying punishment that Coby preferred not to describe. This routine persisted until Coby was left stunned by a recent broadcast. It appeared they would arrive at the target continent in just two days.

How could it be so fast? He had only just begun to appreciate the comforts of life on deck. He realized why pirates were so enamored with the ocean; his time at sea made him feel more connected to the outdoors than ever before. Suddenly, the anxiety he had suppressed for so long surged within him like a gathering storm.

In an instant, the fleet maintained a safe distance from the Lampe-Adonis coastline. Their objective, however, was not a coastal town but a location situated several settlements inland. Soon, Coby was aboard an aircraft, preparing for a parachute drop. He wasn't jumping alone; each soldier was paired with a Baymardian. They observed as the Baymardians scouted for landing zones before deploying their Meg iron man suits to ferry vehicles from the massive cargo planes. It was a sight to behold! They transported tanks and heavy equipment like Superman, flying back and forth to complete the logistics. Once everyone was mounted in their vehicles and prepared for the advance, the battalion moved toward Craywing Town. Their specific mission was to strike the Northern sector, while other units targeted the south, east, and west. The city center would be infiltrated by specialized teams several hours after the initial assault began. Why wait?

The strategy relied on the fact that the powerful Adonis forces would have already dispatched their cavalry toward the outer walls to repel the invaders. Imagine the chaos when those soldiers, halfway to the gates, realized the central district they just vacated was under siege. How would the Kardinals—the city lords—along with the Battlefords and other Adonis officials react when surrounded by total anarchy?

Boom! Boom! Boom! The sky roared with such intensity that citizens hiding in their residences began to tremble violently. Despite their expertise in brainwashing the populace, the Adonis regime still ruled through sheer terror. This was reflected in the unique architecture of Adonis homes, where people became master locksmiths out of necessity. Houses were equipped with underground bunkers, concealed chambers, and reinforced doors designed to hide from the Adonis Kardinals and patrols. Unlike the rest of the world, Adonis enforced a strict 8 PM curfew. Anyone caught outside after that hour without authorization was hauled to the 'Temple' for 'discipline.' Furthermore, no one was permitted to leave their homes until 8 AM. Adonis was the law, the lord, and life itself. To survive, one had to obey or face death, mutilation, or enslavement. Additionally, if a non-noble family had more than three sons, any subsequent boys were seized at birth. The same fate awaited daughters born after the first two.

"Son, keep the windows shut!"

"Daughter, stay in the hole no matter what happens!"

"Wife, you're pregnant with my son... don't look outside!"

Countless families huddled in their homes, paralyzed by the terrifying sounds echoing from the streets.

"His Holiness, Kardinal Norman! The perimeter is breached! Outsiders have invaded our holy territory. Give us your command!" Upon hearing the report, Kardinal Norman shoved the naked women from his bed and scrambled to don his sacred battle gear. "Where is the assault coming from?" "Kardinal, reports say the East walls!" "Move! Take 15,000 men to the North Walls immediately!"

Norman hurried into his armor, which was supposedly empowered by the Holy Feather. Only then did he put on his priestly vestments and battle cap, grabbing his golden staff that concealed a blade. Just as he prepared to exit, a succession of messengers burst in. "Kardinal! Emergency! The North Walls are under fire!"

"The West Walls are being attacked!"

"The South Walls are falling!"

One, two, three... BAM!

Norman punched the wall in frustration, realizing they were completely encircled. Who would dare invade their sacred lands so fearlessly? Were they insane? Did they think themselves invincible? How did they find the audacity, the nerve, and the heart to strike them on Adonis soil?

Bam! Norman struck the floor with the base of his staff. "Everyone, calm the f**k down." His commanding aura and gravelly voice forced everyone to recoil. "What do the scriptures of the great Adonis God teach us? 'Fear Not and Stand Firm, for I will always be with you.' Why are you scurrying about like headless roosters?"

Besides, had they forgotten their weaponry was superior enough to slice through flesh like a soft pear?

Norman sneered with arrogance, puffing out his chest as he mounted his two-headed stallion for war. Other Battlefords, Thamans, and Monkards followed with equal confidence. However, two hours later, they felt as though they had aged a lifetime, trapped within a hellscape of fire and smoke.

To make matters worse, the central plains to their left were being bombarded by explosive fire falling from the heavens. No! Not his City Lord Palace!

Kardinal Norman was on the verge of tears. Who had opened the gates of hell in the heart of Adonis? The destruction roared on. Norman was not the only one in despair.

Deep within the Holy Capital of Java, the Adonis heir and his father, the Holy One, watched the devastation in shock. What was happening?

Why were they under such a sudden assault? More crucially, where was the Holy Feather they guarded so vigilantly? "Useless! You claim a man in black defeated you all and the feather vanished while you were unconscious? Do you realize the gravity of this?"

"Father, why are you being so lenient? Let me—"

Bang! The ground beneath them shook violently, forcing everyone to scramble for balance. A massive shockwave threw them back, accompanied by a searing heat that felt as though it would melt their limbs.

Augh~

Java felt his heart skip a beat as he slammed into a stone wall.

"What kind of power is this?"

A Thaman nearby struggled to his feet on bloodied legs, his expression grim. "Then the heavens screamed in rage, raining balls of fire upon us."

The scriptures were being fulfilled. This had to be the divine punishment of Adonis for their failures or for the times they showed mercy to those who broke the commandments.

"We are lost, unless we—"

Plop.

The man collapsed onto his wounded knees, extending his hands from his robes in a desperate prayer.

"Oh mighty Adonis, forgive your lambs and bring them back to the fold."

Please, show mercy.

BOOOM!
