I Hate Systems Chapter 1107.6: Representation War (Part 6)
Previously on I Hate Systems...
Looking back at the events that transpired. Shortly after Ahjar departed with Hazen, Compass Carburettor fixed his gaze upon the kneeling figure of Slayer. He observed as more and more fragments of the Representative System merged into Slayer's being, inquiring, "How does it feel?"
"You…" Slayer's eyes narrowed in disbelief, a desperate urge to halt the process consuming him. Yet, he found himself ensnared by an unseen force, powerless to resist for the moment. 'No, once I reclaim my complete form, I will possess the strength to dictate my own destiny. I will become powerful enough to confront these individuals,' he vowed internally. With this resolve, Slayer endured as the final fragment of the Representative System flowed into him, bringing with it a crucial Coordinate. The instant he sought it, Zaira promptly provided the information.
The Representative System, after all, was an artifact of immense value, serving as the principal catalyst for the era of System Supremacy.
This Coordinate integrated into his being, absorbing half of the fragments to coalesce into his Core Skill. Although the Representative System had descended by seven levels, its strength could be swiftly restored by designating a Genre Representative as a Host. Alas, such an eventuality would never come to pass. The very instant his Core Skill materialized, a veil of fog lifted from Slayer's mind. Then, like a torrent bursting through a dam, a deluge of agonizing experiences overwhelmed him.
In a mere instant!
Slayer's consciousness imploded. The sheer volume of torment was an unbearable burden for any single individual, especially one maintained in a mortal state.
Slayer crumpled to the ground, his mind utterly obliterated. His memories, experiences, sense of self, willpower, thoughts, data—everything that constituted Slayer up to that point was eradicated, for his mind had ceased to exist.
It did not merely shatter; it disintegrated. Such was the catastrophic intensity of the torment inflicted upon him.
Slayer remained motionless, a vacant stare reflecting an absence of any personal will. At this juncture, Compass Carburettor seized his face with his left hand, causing the Ring of Secrecy to emit a radiant glow.
With Slayer now complete and lacking a mind, his assimilation into the Secret Society became a seamless process. His vacant state facilitated his easy recruitment.
In immediate response, Compass Carburettor extracted the memories and experiences of a specific entity from his past, infusing them into Slayer. The powers of Lore and Tell-Tale were unleashed in their entirety, as Slayer's form was reshaped, akin to dough being kneaded, transforming into a serpent.
"From this moment forth, you shall be known as Dita."
Slayer's authority as the Representative System was entirely channeled into the serpent, now renamed Dita. The serpent coiled adorably around his arm, emitting a soft hiss. A voice laced with nostalgia resonated, "Uncle, what shall we do now?"
"We must first equip you. You are the key to vanquishing Zaira." With those words, Compass Carburettor prepared to step towards the breach in the System World, intending to actively join the ongoing conflict.
Just as he was poised to teleport, faint motes of starlight materialized before him, shimmering like a butterfly before erupting in a multitude of explosions. These phenomena disrupted his teleportation, sending him hurtling back into the world.
"Compass Carburettor, surrender!" A chilling voice commanded as a star-like world materialized, radiating an intense aura of killing intent. The entity's appearance was drastically altered, yet it was undeniably familiar. Compass Carburettor recognized it instantly.
Grade 3 System—Constellation (Level 219)!
It was Stencil.
Her assault sent Compass Carburettor crashing into the world, but he sustained no injuries. After all, his attire was an entire universe reshaped for that purpose. To inflict damage upon it, Stencil would need to unleash an attack capable of cosmic destruction. And that was a formidable task, considering she was merely a low-ranking Grade 3 System. Yet, the timing of her strike was remarkably precise, intercepting Compass Carburettor just as he planned his departure. It seemed too coincidental.
Grade 3 System—Luck (Level 222)!
It was Rhizen, dispatched with the objective of impeding Compass Carburettor.
"…" Compass Carburettor shifted his gaze to the side, observing the arrival of a third Grade 3 System. This entity was also familiar.
Grade 3 System—Ruination (Level 217)!
"We require your head, Compass," Gehera's voice echoed from her planetary form. "Surely you would not refuse my request, would you?"
"After all, I preserved your life on numerous occasions and shielded you for 75 years."
While Gehera engaged him in conversation, Rhizen discreetly activated his Core Skill Manifestation. This action transmuted the very luck of the universe into chains, binding Compass Carburettor to his location. He was now immobilized, unable to depart unless he severed these chains. Before Compass Carburettor could fully address the chains, Stencil followed suit with her own Core Skill Manifestation, causing a colossal tower to materialize and engulf him, entombing him at its very center.
As if anticipating this moment, Gehera unleashed her Core Skill Manifestation, plunging the entire tower into devastation.
Fusion Core Skill Manifestation—The Unlucky Tower of Ruin!
Their objective was to ensnare Compass Carburettor within the Unlucky Tower of Ruin, inflicting damage upon him over an extended period. By doing so, even if Compass Carburettor managed to break free in the future, he would be gravely injured.
At that point, a Grade 3 System could easily dispatch Compass Carburettor.
This deadly trap was the ultimate trump card devised by Zaira, a result of the perfect synergy between three Core Skill Manifestations. Employing Rhizen's luck, the ability was guaranteed to strike its intended target.
After all, Rhizen and Compass Carburettor shared a long history, their fortunes intertwined to a significant degree, ensuring the attack's precision.
"Is he trapped?" Gehera inquired, her breath catching with exhaustion.
"Indeed," Rhizen affirmed, sensing the ebb and flow of luck within the Unlucky Tower of Ruin, "He is sustaining damage even as we speak."
"Yet, still," Rhizen mused with a frown, "we succeeded on our first attempt. How is this even possible? Even my luck wouldn't permit such a flawless outcome, especially considering Compass's power to erase the memories of those harboring ill intentions towards him."
"Our success is attributable to one individual," Stencil stated calmly, a subtle smile gracing her lips.
"Who might that be?" Gehera asked.
"Who else could it be?" Stencil scoffed, "My father, naturally."
"When we launched our assault, his instinctive retaliation was potent enough to obliterate us. Thus, he personally suppressed his own abilities. As a consequence, he was left vulnerable to our attack." She gazed toward the tower, a chilling wave of energy emanating from her, "Even now, he cannot bring himself to inflict harm upon me."
"It seems his guilt is weighing heavily upon him."
