Achilles arrived in the Braneworld Observable Existence and witnessed its grandeur. He met Vireth, who explained the need for secrecy and introduced a team of Gilded Ones assembled to counter a threat. Among them were powerful beings and several unique individuals extracted from other existences, including a young woman named Taylor, who immediately contacted Achilles mentally, proposing an escape plan.

Taylor of The Light had a foul mouth.

Achilles replied to her shortly after her initial transmission settled into his awareness, keeping his external expression oriented toward the assembled entities around him while directing his response through whatever channel she had opened between them.

"What do you have planned?"

Her expression brightened immediately across the distance separating them, the shift visible even as she performed the same casual survey of the surrounding landscape that anyone observing her would read as idle situational awareness.

A flurry of transmissions arrived in his mind with the organized chaos of someone who thought faster than they edited.

"Okay! So, existence has begun talking to me about you as it says, Achilles, Adrastia, devours, assimilates, blah blah blah, but most importantly, THE Primordial Source is communicating that you can utilize Persevere, right?"

She paused for approximately no time at all before continuing.

"As amazing as I am, I cannot utilize the letters of THE Primordial Tongue myself, so I have already designed a plan. I just need to confirm I can survive it. With your power, if we can reach an understanding for you to utilize Persevere on me if necessary, I actually plan to reach out directly to the one they gathered all of us here to hunt."

Another beat, this one carrying the weight of what she was actually proposing.

"I plan to reach out to THE Osmontian himself, so that these kidnapping bastards get thoroughly screwed over. With my capability of communicating with existence, I already know where he is. But given how seriously everyone here is treating this target, he could likely collapse my thread of consciousness and destroy my original body if I am not sufficiently careful."

Her transmission carried the particular efficiency of someone arriving at the part that required his agreement.

"So. Can you utilize Persevere on me if it becomes necessary?"

Achilles processed this in the span of a breath.

Her words were as ridiculous as they were grand, and they required genuine internalization before any response. She could speak directly with existence itself and had already extracted specific information about him from THE Primordial Source within the short time since their arrival here. She had assessed the assembled situation, identified the same fundamental problem he had identified, and produced a plan that moved against the people responsible for bringing her here rather than simply executing the mission they had been collected for.

Her thinking matched his own with uncomfortable precision as aftrr thinking about it, there wasn’t really a reason for him to deny!

"It’s a deal."

The moment the words left his internal transmission, a prompt crystallized before his awareness with the quality of something that had been waiting for exactly this agreement to form before making itself visible.

|You have entered a verbal agreement with THE Baba Yaga, Taylor, overseen by THE Primordial Source.|

|If you do not fulfill your end of this agreement, your existence will be struck with THE Source Curse of Existence.|

...!

His eyes opened wide.

He looked more carefully at the petite woman whose eyes had already moved on to tracking something else across the assembled landscape, that brilliant smile sitting on her face with the ease of someone who had just secured exactly what they needed.

THE Baba Yaga.

That name carried weight that the casual ferocity of her personality had entirely concealed until the Source itself chose to announce it.

What the hell did she have or had done for her to have such a name?

She looked briefly back at him with that brilliant smile and transmitted simply.

"Good! I will get started with sending a portion of myself toward THE Osmontian."

While this exchange had been occurring between the two of them, another powerhouse had appeared above their assembled group without announcement, a woman whose authority pressed against the surrounding Observable Force with ease.

She looked toward Vireth with the recognition of one who had been dealing with another across sufficient time to dispense with formal introduction.

"Your positions have been guaranteed. You will be stationed behind me in Sororis Prima Elizabeth’s Gilded Legion when it sets off shortly."

She paused with the quality of someone raising a concern they had raised before without resolution.

"Though Senior Vireth, I genuinely do not understand why we cannot bring the Ealdor Gilded Ones into this. They could address this threat considerably faster than the assembled force we are currently working with."

Vireth shook her head with the firmness of someone who had already closed this argument on previous occasions.

"What we are doing now is already sufficiently dangerous. When a target is steeped in Infinity and THE Primordial Source the way this enemy is, attempting to cut them off through the methods we are employing means going against those two forces themselves."

Her crimson-gold eyes held the seriousness of someone communicating a constraint that was not open to negotiation.

"If we violate the balance too aggressively, everything we are attempting will invert against us instead. Adversity must move in both directions or it ceases to function as adversity and becomes simply destruction. If we bring too much force to bear, it will backfire rather than resolve."

...!

Achilles absorbed this while the assembled party began following the newly arrived Gilded One toward the distant citadel stretching across the horizon below them, golden towers catching the Observable Force saturating the atmosphere with brilliance that communicated age and significance simultaneously.

If they did too much, things would backfire.

He was still turning that over when Taylor’s transmission arrived in his mind again with the volume of someone who had been restraining themselves for approximately as long as their patience allowed.

"Hah! They think this MIGHT backfire? I am going to make absolutely certain it backfires on these golden bastards!"

She seemed extraordinarily vindictive for someone whose plan theoretically required cooperation with the people she was describing.

Externally, she truly seemed innocent and casual as who she portrayed and who she was...was actually very different!

But in this manner...they went towards a vast citadel of Gilded Ones burning with pride, with Superbius!
