I Arrived At Wizard World While Cultivating Immortality Chapter 894: A Terrifying Technological Civilization

ith the communication cut, watching the ever more active spatial fluctuations opposite him, Jie Ming prepared without the slightest hesitation to put out his full strength.
At a moment like this, there was no sense left in probing.
He raised a hand, his five fingers pressing toward the void ahead.
Boom…
In that instant, the passage into the inner world within his body opened with a roar.
The power of the Incense Fire Divine Dao came pouring wildly out of that formless passage like a flood through a broken dyke, spreading across everything around him in a moment.
At the same time, Jie Ming’s command had already traveled down the Incense Fire Divine Dao to the Infernal Sulfur Plane.
Teleportation array after teleportation array, long since prepared, lit up together, and the whole of the Infernal Sulfur Plane was as though a war beast that had slept for ages had woken.
Rumble!
The void behind Jie Ming tore violently open. A dark-golden fissure fully several thousand kilometers across appeared out of nothing, violent currents of spatial turbulence churning ceaselessly outward from it.
Four figures were the first to step through.
They were four seventh-level Black Giants ten thousand meters tall, covered head to foot in heavy black plate, their enormous bodies like four war fortresses that had crawled up out of the abyss.
The moment they emerged, the great vertical mouths at the center of their chests snapped open.
“ROAR!!!”
Four bellows burst out at once, the sound turning into ripples visible to the naked eye that rolled the elements back on every side.
And behind them, tens of millions of sixth-level Black Giants surged madly out of the teleportation fissure like a black flood through a broken dyke.
That dense black mass of figures blotted out the stars. Ferocious giants surfaced one after another in the void, their tightly packed black bodies stretching almost past any visible end.
Immediately after, another and still more violent aura erupted from deep within the fissure.
Several hundred dark-red dragon shapes broke through into the open, wings spread, vast bodies hanging motionless in the void.
They were the seventh-level Dragonmen of the Dragonman race, and in the vertical pupils of every one of them burned a battle-lust close to madness.
And behind these Dragonmen, a boundless gray-brown torrent came pouring out of the teleportation fissure.
It was the Dragonblood Mushroomman Legion.
They swept into the battlefield in numbers that blotted out heaven and earth, and even the weakest individual among them stood at the sixth level of life.
As for the tightly packed high-order individuals among them, they set the whole stretch of void trembling faintly.
The Dragonman patriarch had indeed taken Jie Ming’s orders to heart. In less than a single year, over a million seventh-level dragonblood mushroom-men had been added to their number.
With so vast a body of high-order life appearing all at once, the elements around them grew restless, and runaway energy filled the void in every direction.
Jie Ming glanced at the legion still pouring endlessly forth, and felt at last some measure of confidence.
With this legion’s combat strength, it was enough to take part head-on in a large-scale plane war.
This time he had not summoned the Tentacle Tree legion, chiefly because there was no need.
An enemy that a ninth-level construct could draw here was plainly beyond anything the Tentacle Tree fleet could withstand; bringing them over would only be sending them to die for nothing.
Just then, the space ahead of him warped violently.
Jie Ming raised his head at the sight. “Here they come!”
The next moment, great swaths of silver-gray metal hulls jumped out of that warped space.
In the blink of an eye a thousand and more had spread out, each of them like a moving war fortress, complex energy circuits covering their hulls, with vast numbers of escort mecha flying in rings around them.
Though their numbers fell far short of Jie Ming’s legion, the force they presented was in no way its inferior.
The moment the enemy appeared, Jie Ming felt his scalp go numb.
Eighth level!
Every last warship in the legion opposite him was at the eighth-level standard!
And not the warships alone: even those escort mecha flying in rings around them all held eighth-level energy readings!
Jie Ming’s face darkened at once. “What in all hells…”
He forced the words out almost through his teeth.
He had thought his own fleet enough to buy time. He had never expected the enemy’s levels to run so absurdly high!
“So this is what makes the technology side such a nuisance? Really…”
This counted as the first time Jie Ming had truly grasped how troublesome a technology-side civilization was.
Unlike a transcendent-side civilization, a technology-side one needed only for its technology to meet the standard and its resources to be sufficient, and it could then turn out high-level fighting strength endlessly, the way dumplings go into a pot.
Of course, warships like these might carry eighth-level energy fluctuations, but there was certainly no way one of them could face an eighth-level creature alone.
Such a warship reached the eighth-level standard only at the two ends of attack and defense. Beyond that, in fineness of energy control and in agility, it fell far short of an eighth-level creature of the same level.
But the advantages were plain enough: destructive power and defensive power both strong, high-order fighting strength obtained on the backs of vast numbers of low-level operators, and numbers in plenty.
Numbers, indeed, that could be called absurd.
BOOM!!!
Before Jie Ming could observe any further, the enemy’s first salvo had already fallen.
And his own legion, just as unhesitating, answered with a seventh-level legion array of its own.
There was no hint of probing about it, and no warning either. In the instant the two sides met, they opened straight into a war of the highest intensity.
And so the war erupted all at once.
Countless thick pillars of energy light ran the void through, and a vast rain of beams poured down like a storm.
The elemental storms left by the explosions collided with one another, forming a tide of destruction that covered tens of millions of kilometers.
The endless chaotic void, silent until now, came to a full boil in that moment.
Through one round of mutual bombardment, Jie Ming’s side, on the strength of its numerical advantage and the support of legion-level arrays, barely managed not to fall behind.
“Attack!!”
At the Dragonman patriarch’s howl, the Dragonblood Mushroomman Legion was the first to charge once that opening exchange ended.
Numberless mushroom-men opened their mouths at once, and elemental breath gushed out in a mass that blotted out heaven and earth, every sort of power gathering into one sky-covering torrent of energy that slammed into the silver-gray fleet opposite.
Boom, boom, boom!
Great swaths of silver-gray warships were swallowed in the torrent.
But very soon the fleet’s answer arrived.
Countless gun muzzles lit as one, eighth-level energy beams bursting out with a roar, their glare covering the entire battlefield in an instant.
Feeling that terrible force, Jie Ming’s pupils contracted sharply.
A single salvo, and mushroom-men vaporized in whole swaths.
And the enemy’s attack never paused. Hard on its heels the second round arrived, and the third.
And so even the Black Giant legion began to take casualties in great swaths.
Enormous black bodies burst apart under the light-cannons, severed limbs whirling across the sky.
In the space of a few breaths, the casualties on Jie Ming’s side had already reached an appalling figure.
Watching the warships still jumping in without cease, Jie Ming’s gaze turned cold.
He knew the fight could not go on this way. He had to cut the enemy’s numbers down, and quickly.
“Leave it to me!”
Jie Ming stepped forward.
Boom!
The Third Layer Dharma Form unfolded, and an enormous golden figure appeared abruptly within the chaotic void.
A vast Dharma Form of two hundred and fifty thousand kilometers, like a star rising out of a dark universe, its golden light lighting the whole battlefield in an instant.
The next moment the Return to Ruins Armor unfolded, and the Light God Transformation opened.
Platinum divine light burst out, and that Dharma Form two hundred and fifty thousand kilometers tall was dyed in an instant into a platinum colossus of the utmost brilliance.
Every being present felt that terrible pressure in the same moment.
Jie Ming pushed both palms slowly forward.
“Great Annihilation Divine Light.”
BOOM!!!
A transparent light burst from his palms, and in that instant the whole vanguard of the warship fleet was wholly engulfed.
Where the radiance passed, elements came apart, matter was annihilated, and the very structure of space began to collapse in great stretches.
A silver-gray vanguard squadron that had only just finished its spatial jump had no time even to scatter. The light swept over it, and great swaths of silver-gray hulls vanished as though wiped away outright by one invisible giant hand.
That whole vanguard formation, its jump barely completed, turned to nothing in the blink of an eye.
At the great vacuum that had suddenly opened ahead of them, and at the danger alarms coming back from their detectors, the enemy fleet showed at last a trace of disorder.
But Jie Ming did not relax in the slightest, because he knew perfectly well that the blow just now had killed only a small part of the outermost edge.
More enemy ships were jumping in. More eighth-level warships were appearing.
Sure enough, in the space of a blink, silver-gray warships in their thousands completed their spatial jumps together, gun muzzles turning as one to lock on.
Jie Ming’s Dharma Form, two hundred and fifty thousand kilometers tall, was simply too conspicuous across the whole battlefield, and every warship there naturally locked on to it as their target.
Hum…
Feeling countless eighth-level energy fluctuations light up together, Jie Ming’s expression changed abruptly.
The next instant…
Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom…
All the guns poured down at once, the whole void swallowed in white fire, and Jie Ming’s vast Dharma Form was engulfed by the barrage in a moment.
The Return to Ruins Armor devoured madly at the destroying power hammering into his body, and even began to show an obvious strain.
The platinum divine light formed by the Light God Transformation flickered violently and without pause, and the vast Third Layer Dharma Form itself began to shudder under the continuous bombardment.
Boom!
Another salvo.
Jie Ming’s body sank sharply, and the violence of the impact left even his consciousness blank for an instant.
“So strong…” He clenched his teeth.
An entire fleet composed wholly of eighth-level fighting strength, with all that firepower concentrated on a single target, was enough to destroy the overwhelming majority of living things.
That Jie Ming could still bear it was a measure of how high he had pushed the strength of his improved Return to Ruins Armor.
His gaze passed through the sky-filling barrage to fix on the silver-gray fleet still pouring out in the distance.
Jie Ming forcibly steadied his Dharma Form, and at the same time opened the teleportation fissure of his inner world wider still.
A fresh Black Giant legion charged out, and behind it the reserve legion of the dragonblood mushroom-men, the two armies flowing into the battlefield without cease like inexhaustible tides of black and dark red.
And on the other side, the enemy fleet had likewise not stopped bringing up reinforcements.
Ripple after ripple of spatial jump burst open in succession, and new silver-gray warships poured endlessly out of the spatial passages.
The reinforcements on both sides seemed to have no end.
As the numbers of both legions grew, the scale of the battlefield expanded at a maddening rate, until before long it stretched to the million-kilometer scale.
Shattered corpses and burst warships lay everywhere through the void, and sky-filling embers of energy crossed the battlefield like meteors.
Every second saw vast numbers of lives vanish, and every second saw vast reinforcements arrive.
And Jie Ming, feeling the enormous gulf in strength between the two sides, gritted his teeth and drove the Light God Transformation once more as he charged back in.
