I Arrived At Wizard World While Cultivating Immortality Chapter 784: The First Array Eye
In the laboratory, the Five Aggregates Rainbow Mirror hung in midair.
Experimental data poured down it like a waterfall, and the mirror’s spirituality processed it at speed.
Jie Ming stood at the experiment bench, about to begin the day’s aptitude gradient experiment.
Just then, a faint thread of consciousness seeped through and sank into the depths of his own.
That was the dedicated means of contact established after the Incense Fire Divine Dao was built. Any senior member of the Black Giant priesthood could use the power of faith to deliver a message straight into his consciousness.
A steady voice sounded slowly:
“Our Master, all materials required for the first array eye of the All-Heavens Star Grand Array have been prepared.”
Jie Ming’s hands paused slightly.
The next moment, without the slightest hesitation, he waved the experiment records closed.
“Finally… it is all gathered.”
He had waited several centuries for this one array eye.
A moment later.
The Infernal Sulfur Plane.
As silver-white teleportation light flared, Jie Ming’s figure appeared at the center of the continent.
Several dozen Black Giant priests were already waiting respectfully before the array.
The high priest standing at the front lowered his head slowly, the vertical mouth on his chest vibrating out a low voice.
“Our Master, all materials have arrived at the space warehouse. Please inspect them.”
Jie Ming nodded. “Lead the way.”
The party soon arrived at the space beyond the continent.
As they crossed the last orbital defense line, the sight before them left even Jie Ming silent for a moment.
The Black Giant priests had called it a space warehouse, but what met the eye was a stretch of “planets” piled up out of countless resources.
Asteroids tens of thousands of kilometers across hung quietly in the void.
Only these “asteroids” were not naturally formed. They were built entirely out of every kind of high-level material and an astonishing quantity of high-purity energy crystals.
They had been stacked by category, and each category had formed a resource planet floating in space.
Seen from a distance, it was like an ocean of stars composed of wealth.
Jie Ming looked at the scene in silence, and yet there was nothing pleased about his expression.
He had known he was spending a great deal, but only seeing it in person made him truly appreciate how many resources he had gone through. Looking at those materials, Jie Ming felt his heart bleeding.
He let out a slow breath and steadied himself. “Several centuries. This is a full several centuries of accumulation…”
This heap of resource planets had all but exhausted every high-level resource the Infernal Sulfur Plane could muster over these years.
It was fair to say that every military merit Jie Ming had earned in all his years of outside trade had gone into it.
Star Power and Solar True Fire were relatively easy.
What was genuinely expensive were the physical materials that carried properties of law.
Any one of them, produced on its own, would leave an ordinary wizard aching for a long while.
The corner of Jie Ming’s mouth twitched slightly.
“Small wonder the Great Dao Book Pavilion has no material at all on building the most advanced All-Heavens Star Grand Array. This is simply not something an ordinary cultivator can afford to play with.” The high priest beside him asked in a low voice, “Our Master, shall we begin the refinement?”
Jie Ming was silent a moment, and in the end nodded.
“Begin.”
As order after order went out, the whole stretch of space swung rapidly into motion.
Tens of thousands of Black Giant priests flew off in every direction and soon brought over the apparatus, long since refined, and began assembling it.
Before long, a newly upgraded refinement ring unfolded slowly.
Tens of thousands of spatial anchor points connected to one another, and runic chains ran through the void.
At last they formed an enormous circle more than three million kilometers across.
The whole ring turned slowly, and the elements in the surrounding void began converging madly.
Countless Black Giant priests stood at their assigned positions, their mental energy linked to one another, forming a vast network covering the entire ring. Jie Ming stood at the very center and slowly closed his eyes.
The next instant, dark golden light erupted.
Boom!!!
The five-hundred-kilometer true body appeared in space, the enormous frame rising slowly, three golden vertical eyes opening at once across both faces, front and back. For a moment, terrifying pressure swept across the whole star region.
Even having seen it countless times, the Black Giant priests assisting with the refinement still held their breath without meaning to.
Every time they witnessed it, they learned again what genuine might meant.
Jie Ming looked down at his feet.
Even his present true body seemed far too small against a refinement ring three million kilometers across.
He slowly extended both hands.
Between his palms, a mass of Solar True Fire blazed.
As Jie Ming drew Solar True Fire endlessly out of his inner world, the red flame turned instantly into a sea of fire covering tens of thousands of kilometers. “Feed in the materials.”
The low voice went out to every Black Giant around him through the mental link.
The next moment.
Boom!
The first mountain range of resources rose slowly, and hundreds of millions of tons of star core essence entered the refinement ring at once.
Solar True Fire wrapped it in an instant.
Even star core essence, impregnable as it was, melted at a speed visible to the naked eye under the tempering of Solar True Fire.
Then.
Several million Black Giants around them kept stripping materials off the “material planets” nearby, feeding those enormous mountain ranges of high-level material endlessly into the sea of fire.
At the same time, Jie Ming opened another entrance to his inner world and, judging by the current state, began feeding in Star Power.
The whole refinement process went on for a full year.
Throughout, the moment any rune fluctuated, a priest would immediately shore it up.
Thanks to Jie Ming’s coordination, they managed to keep the refinement ring stable with everything they had.
Until, a year later, Jie Ming’s eyes snapped open.
“Condense!”
Boooom…
The whole refinement ring erupted with dazzling golden light at once, and the array eye, already roughly formed, contracted instantly toward the center.
Vast quantities of matter compressed without pause.
At last a point of light, brilliant to the utmost, was born slowly at the heart of the sea of fire.
The next moment.
Like a star rising, that dazzling radiance lit up the entire Infernal Sulfur Plane star region.
Everyone present could not help narrowing their eyes.
When the light gradually faded, an enormous sphere hung quietly in the void.
It was fully two million kilometers in diameter.
It was a brilliant gold throughout, countless star patterns flowing slowly across its surface, releasing a soft yet scorching light and heat outward without pause.
Seen from a distance, it looked like a newly born star.
The space around it was even faintly distorted by the terrifying energy it gave off.
One Black Giant priest could not help murmuring in awe, “This… this is an array eye…”
Another priest’s eyes were full of shock. “A single array eye already on this scale.”
“If the whole All-Heavens Star Grand Array were completed…”
He did not go on.
Everyone present could already imagine what a magnificent sight that would be.
Jie Ming, however, did not immediately admire his own handiwork. His gaze moved slowly around him.
There, where the resources had been piled up like planets…
It was empty.
Across the whole stretch of space, only scattered offcuts remained, too little to refine anything further.
Several centuries of accumulation could be said to have been spent in a single day.
Jie Ming slowly clutched at his chest, the corner of his mouth twitching slightly.
“…that hurts.”
The high priest beside him blinked. “Our Master?”
Jie Ming looked at that array eye blazing with radiance, then at the emptied material warehouse, and could not help letting out a long sigh.
“Now I finally understand what a genuine money pit looks like.”
He reached out and patted his own chest, looking at the array eye burning slowly before him like a star, his expression too complicated to describe. There was gratification in it, and satisfaction, but more than anything… it still hurt.
This was no array eye. This was plainly a sun built by main force out of military merits!
