I Arrived At Wizard World While Cultivating Immortality Chapter 763: Advancing to Sixth-Level Wizard

~6 minute read · 1,550 words

Jie Ming sat down cross-legged in the quiet chamber deep inside the main laboratory.

The walls all around were inlaid with plates made of star-core condensed metal, and the surface of every plate was covered in runes, layer upon layer, sealing off outside interference entirely.

The Five Aggregates Rainbow Mirror hung at his side, helping him coordinate his spirituality.

The light screens of the instruments beside him unfolded page by page, annotating item by item the elemental concentration, spatial stability and mental fluctuation amplitude inside the chamber. Every reading held steady in the green.

Preparations for the advancement were complete.

“Hah… let us begin.”

Jie Ming slowly closed all of his eyes and sank his consciousness into his spiritual sea.

The next moment, within the Ring of Truth, the golden thread representing the Spiritual Qi Law began unwinding from its coiled state at a slow, steady pace. As it peeled away from the surface of the ring, the light it released washed the whole spiritual sea in a soft dark gold.

The dozen or so other golden law threads gave way to either side, opening a road for it to the very center of the Ring of Truth.

At the same time, inside the Ring of Truth, that mass which had long since condensed into the rough form of a Law Solidification Domain also began to turn slowly.

It had been no more than a blurred halo of light, its outline hazy, its boundary indistinct.

But as the Spiritual Qi Law’s golden thread drew nearer bit by bit, the edges of that halo began to firm up, and its internal structure unfolded layer by layer along with it, like a flower opening slowly in the morning light.

Jie Ming watched all of it quietly, feeling out the changes as they came, and understanding gradually settled in him.

The Law Solidification Domain was, in essence, a simplified imitation of a plane.

In the wizards’ system of knowledge, a complete plane was constituted of two core elements: the plane origin, and the plane itself.

The plane origin supplied the information that formed the rules, and the plane itself relied on those rules to drive the operation of the elements, forming energy, matter, space and time. And the golden law threads a sixth-level wizard condensed in his spiritual sea, especially the core law that reached one hundred percent mastery, played precisely the role of the plane origin.

It carried the whole of the wizard’s understanding of and information about that law.

As for the Law Solidification Domain, it was driven by that golden thread, projecting and manifesting the wizard’s mental will into the material world, and playing precisely the role of the plane itself.

So once a wizard obtained a Law Solidification Domain, he could force his way through a plane barrier even without the aid of a wizard tower (a plane). Because in essence, that was a miniature plane the wizard had simulated himself, set to contend with or fuse into a real one.

As long as that simulated plane was stable enough, it could open a breach in a real plane barrier.

That also explained why a sixth-level wizard could manipulate a plane origin the moment he completed his breakthrough.

Because there was already a miniature version of a plane origin in his spiritual sea, identical in essence to a real one, so of course it could merge and seep into a plane origin and go on to contest control of it.

So where, then, did the rough form of the Law Solidification Domain come from?

Jie Ming’s consciousness went on sinking.

He passed through the light of the Spiritual Qi Law’s golden thread, through the runic layers of the Ring of Truth, through the layered echoes of his spiritual sea, all the way down to the very bottom. There he saw the spiritual flame he had lit back in his apprentice days.

That flame had never stopped burning.

From apprentice to formal wizard, from the first level to the fifth.

It had always been the foundation of every power a wizard had.

And the rough form of the Law Solidification Domain was precisely a special power capable of being projected into the material world, obtained by “tempering” one’s own will through that spiritual flame and then adjusting and amplifying it through the Ring of Truth.

He understood it all at once.

The Law Solidification Domain was, in essence, the direct manifestation in the material world of one’s own thought after it broke past the limits of the soul.

Which was to say… thought becoming reality.

Jie Ming had always assumed that a wizard’s exploration of that ninth-level ability, of having whatever one conceives of come true, only began to take rough shape with the eighth level’s law fixation.

But looking at it now, the starting point came a great deal earlier than he had expected.

A sixth-level wizard already possessed the most rudimentary, most primitive rough form of having whatever one conceives of come true.

It was only that at this stage the external effect of thought was extremely limited.

It could only rely on imitating the construction of a plane, using golden law threads as its informational core on the inside while that information drove the elements on the outside, operating according to the rules the wizard himself understood.

Any “conceiving” beyond that range could not be converted into “coming true.”

It could not create matter out of nothing, could not change established physical law, and could not directly erase an enemy from existence.

But within that range, a wizard was the legislator of his own domain.

Jie Ming drew a deep breath and refocused his consciousness on that Law Solidification Domain taking shape.

The Spiritual Qi Law’s golden thread had fully peeled away from the Ring of Truth. It hung at the domain’s center and began radiating dark golden law fluctuations outward. The domain’s boundary went from blurred to distinct.

From a halo of light it gradually became a thin, semi-transparent membrane of light.

That membrane expanded slowly outward with him at its center.

And as it expanded, his thought extended outward along with the domain.

When the membrane reached the “edge” of his own body, Jie Ming could clearly feel resistance.

But with the Ring of Truth and the spiritual flame supplying power without pause, the membrane finally broke past the limits of his body and genuinely spread outward.

In that instant, Jie Ming felt that things were different.

The whole of the outside world’s information presented itself to his perception with a clarity he had never known before.

That was no longer simple scanning, nor simple perception. Those things had become a part of his own body.

The sensation was still very faint, and its coverage reached only as far as the quiet chamber, but that experience of being fused as one with a plane was already enough to convince him his judgment was right.

When the Law Solidification Domain finally stabilized, the whole quiet chamber was filled with a soft dark golden light.

That light was not glaring. It even seemed quite gentle.

But if someone had stood inside it and felt carefully, they would have found that the way every element operated had quietly changed. The free elements of the four kinds no longer moved as they pleased. All of them had been combed into order.

This was the Law Solidification Domain’s first practical function: immunity to the wearing attrition of the elemental turbulence in the Endless Chaotic Void.

Every element that entered the domain, whether it came from outside or from the wizard himself, was automatically combed into order the instant it touched the boundary, rearranged and set to operate according to the rules the wizard himself understood.

Not only did that process consume no energy, it actually produced additional amplification, because the elements ran more efficiently.

At the same time, once a wizard had a Law Solidification Domain, then even if he traveled to a plane whose operating logic of law differed enormously from his own, he would not be suppressed by that plane’s rules and could go on manipulating the elements according to the rules he understood.

At this moment, the advancement to sixth-level wizard had succeeded!

Jie Ming slowly opened his eyes.

Reflected in the vertical eye between his brows were the dark golden runes circulating slowly along the boundary of the Law Solidification Domain.

He raised a hand, opened his palm, and drew a strand of the purest element out of the domain.

Once that strand fell into his palm, it converted itself into spiritual qi of its own accord.

Throughout this, Jie Ming had not relied on the Incense Fire Divine Dao’s conversion system. His domain had simply applied the rule he had spent several thousand years studying, that elements convert into spiritual qi, to reality by force.

Granted, what he could manage now was still very basic. It could only convert elements into spiritual qi, its conversion efficiency was nowhere near that of the Incense Fire Divine Dao system, and its coverage was very limited.

But as a starting point, it was enough!
