I Am Unaware That I Am the Peerless Martial God Chapter 6

Previously on I Am Unaware That I Am the Peerless Martial God...
Qingshan Patriarch broke through to the Martial King realm, resolving a major crisis for his sect. He learned of a powerful, mysterious senior who sells martial arts manuals and deduced the senior might be a Martial Emperor. Luo Lanxue, who had previously encountered the senior and offended him, was forced to accompany Qingshan Patriarch to visit the senior and apologize.

"Disciple, stay here and focus on your martial arts practice. I am heading out to fetch some wine," Yi Feng instructed Zhong Qing at the shop's entrance before departing, a wine gourd gripped in his hand.

"Master Yi."

"Greetings, Master Yi."

As Yi Feng walked down the street, he was greeted by numerous passersby.

"Ahaha, it has been quite a while."

With a smile on his face, Yi Feng returned each bow politely.

"Master Yi, why don't you come up and spend some time with us?"

The fragrance of perfume and rouge drifted through the air as several elegant ladies leaned from an upper floor, waving their kerchiefs toward him.

"Ahem, perhaps another time," Yi Feng replied, declining the invitation with a hint of awkwardness.

"Oh, don't be like that, Master Yi. With a handsome face like yours, we would gladly offer you a few drinks on the house," the ladies teased with giggles.

"I should probably avoid letting you ladies take advantage of me," Yi Feng joked, rolling his eyes playfully. Though they weren't close friends, they were familiar acquaintances.

Suddenly, a disturbance erupted further down the street as a crowd of peddlers and errand boys came rushing forward.

"Master Yi, come see! A stray dog has appeared out of nowhere. Dog meat is a rare treat and pairs perfectly with wine!" a peddler shouted out to him.

"Dog meat is indeed a delicacy. If you manage to catch it, be sure to save me half a catty," Yi Feng called back.

He enjoyed dog meat, but given the size of the crowd, he doubted any would be left for him.

Just as he prepared to continue toward the winery, the chaos surged in his direction. He spotted a group of people wielding wooden sticks and carrying poles, all chasing after a bewildered-looking dog.

Before long, the animal was being cornered and beaten, yelping piteously as it scrambled to find an escape.

The dog was in agony.

Damn these mere mortals! How dare they stand in my way? Do they truly believe they can restrain me? I am the Devouring Sky Demon Wolf, yet these humans dare to call me a silly dog?

Damn it all!

It scanned the area frantically for a way out. Suddenly, its gaze fixed on a potential opening.

Aside from a handsome young man strolling casually with a wine gourd, the path ahead seemed clear.

This was the opportunity it needed!

It decided to charge straight through this final mortal. If it could break past him, its life would be saved.

The wolf felt entirely certain that even the fading remnants of its demonic power as the Devouring Sky Demon Wolf would be far too much for a common mortal to withstand.

Unseen by the crowd, a sun-shaped sigil concealed on the dog's brow flickered. Ripples of transparent energy radiated outward as it lunged directly at Yi Feng.

"Shaolin Leg."

Simultaneously, Yi Feng delivered a kick.

Bang!

The sound of the impact was thunderous.

"What?"

The dog's vacant expression froze in shock. Colliding with Yi Feng felt like slamming into a solid wall of vajra. While stars danced before its eyes, the creature was most horrified to feel its last shard of demonic power vanish instantly upon contact with Yi Feng’s foot.

"How can this be?!"

The dog tumbled across the ground, its jaw working wordlessly before it collapsed into unconsciousness.

"As expected of Master Yi!"

Seeing Yi Feng disable the dog with a single strike, the gathering crowd erupted in cheers of praise.

"It was merely a stroke of luck," Yi Feng said, smiling as he clasped his fists in a modest gesture. "Does this mean the dog belongs to me?"

"Naturally, it is all yours, Master Yi," the people agreed.

Had it been anyone else, there might have been a dispute, but Yi Feng was well-respected. Since it was just a stray dog, no one raised an objection.

"My thanks, I shall take it then."

With a grateful smile, Yi Feng seized the dog by a hind leg and resumed his journey to the winery.

Some time later.

The Qingshan Patriarch and Luo Lanxue finally reached the entrance of the martial arts school.

"Master, we have arrived," Luo Lanxue said with a serious tone.

At her words, the Qingshan Patriarch quickly shifted his attention to the building before them.

The entryway appeared mundane, looking like any other ordinary establishment. Above the door hung a signboard featuring the character "Wu" for martial, carved with masterful precision.

The moment the Qingshan Patriarch’s eyes met that "Wu" character, his entire frame trembled. The calligraphy seemed to transform into a colossal fist, hurtling toward him with immense force.

Step, step, step...

Stunned and caught off guard, the Qingshan Patriarch was forced back several paces.

When he looked again, the character had returned to its static, normal state.

"Master, what happened?" Luo Lanxue asked frantically.

"It is nothing."

Despite his dismissive answer, the Qingshan Patriarch remained pale, his back soaked with cold sweat.

After regaining his composure, he turned to Luo Lanxue and asked, "Disciple, did you observe the 'Wu' character on that sign?"

Luo Lanxue nodded in response.

"That single character possesses an overwhelming amount of martial intent!" the Qingshan Patriarch whispered in shock. "I previously assumed this senior was merely at the Warrior Emperor level, but it seems I have vastly underestimated his true power!"

"What? Master, what are you saying?"

Luo Lanxue’s lips parted in sheer disbelief.
